@highwire: aww so sweet and so glad you got your housecleaning!

so i've been taking it pretty easy... answered a few emails, caught up on some tv online, dh was home today and is home tomorrow too. most of our christmas decor is up, just need to do the big main tree sometime this week...

this last week of waiting is a true test of patience and mental battles... i think it's practice for impending motherhood!

i've had pelvin pain and on/off bh contractions; but nothing noteworthy.

I know I'm joining in on this thread SUPER late (I'm pretty new to HB), but I thought I'd introduce myself anyways. My due date is on the 18th, so I'll likely be popping in to get some advice and learn a few things from all the new mommas!

Congrats to all the new moms on their darling babes, and best of luck to everyone still waiting!!

@mrsjyw: I'm really jealous that you are all noticing things happening!! Either I'm oblivious (a real possibility), or this baby is going to be late, late, late!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

@mrsjyw: We might not be due date twins for long!!! Sounds like you are going to get there before me. Hope things continue to progress for you!

@JessLC: I’ve been feeling really good actually. I don’t sleep the best and my back is maybe getting just a little sore. But, eh, I guess can deal with that!

At my appointment last Saturday, I mentioned to the doctor (who is not my primary doc there) that I wasn’t feeling nearly as much movement. She had me do a non-stress test and ultrasound, and then got me nervous by saying that I didn’t have an abundance of fluid and it wasn’t the 'most' movement she’s seen. Anyways, I had to go back yesterday to have another ultrasound with the tech there, who said my fluid looks okay. (Note to self…don’t let the doctors do the ultrasounds in the future, definitely not their forte!!)

She did measure baby and estimated her at 7.5 pounds (even though she said there is a lot of room for error). That kind of surprised me...my weight gain has been good and smaller babies tend to be the norm in my family. Yikes...sounds like she might be bigger than I thought if she stays in there another week or so!!

    @mrsjyw: Jealous!!! Good luck

@SLR: welcome! It's so scary. They kept telling me my baby was small, then the ultrasound at 39 weeks indicated almost 8 lbs! Crazy!

Well, I'm officially past my due date and trying not to stress. SO hard. I'm so anxious, trying not to freak out about the possibility of induction and that she'll come when she's ready. Just SO hard not knowing WHEN.

@kml636: Ah I bet! Are you working or are you off? If I don't deliver early I'm going to have a week or so off before I deliver and I have a feeling once I quit work I am going to be so super anxious since I will have so much free time to think about it.

@SLR: Those measurement predictions can be off by as much as a pound in either direction - which is like HUGE in baby terms! LOL. I don't even know why they bother telling us the size. My doc said he can predict the size as well as an ultrasound just by feeling around, since the margin of error is so big.

@mrsjyw: Ah - so much going on with you! My body couldn't be any more quiet. Almost zero contractions, no discharge, no nothin

@highwire: I'm still working. I think I would be going crazy at home, but at work everyone constantly is asking me how I'm feeling, etc. I'm not sure which is worse.

I also don't really feel any contractions or anything...

@mrstricycle @kml636: @highwire I'm with you guys, he seems pretty darn happy in there I hate that my OB will ask "Annny contractions yet?" (NO! Am I broken?! lol)

@mrsjyw exciting!! sounds like it will be soon!

@SLR I heard the same thing at my appointment last week at 38w. I know the measurements can be way off.. and I hope they are. I was like 6 lbs when born... 7.5 sounds huge to me

@Mrs. Tricycle: @scg00387: I need everything to stay totally quiet for now. Doc leaves to go out of town on Saturday (11/17), and returns the following Saturday (11/25). Ack.

    Hi All!

Sorry I have been MIA - but just to let you know that I gave birth to a baby boy on November 6 at 12:14 am via c-section. After having the show in the morning of the 4th, contractions coming at 5 minutes apart for 20 seconds started at around 9pm and lasted the whole night. (It was strong enough to keep me awake). To make the long story short, I laboured at home until around lunch, went to the hospital and when they checked, I was already at 7cm!

Unfortunately I was stuck there for another 10 hours before they decided to just do a c-section. I was a little bummed but I'm glad that it is all over and we now have a baby boy weighing at 7 lbs and 11 oz, 21 inches long!

It has not been an easy first week, but we were able to survive!

I will try to pop back in here more often once things start to settle. Good luck to everybody and looking forward to reading more birthstories!

Hi ladies! I feel like it's been forever since I checked in and I've been thinking of you all. Our little guy is going to be one week old tomorrow and I have not had as much time online as I am used to-- I read up on how everyone's doing while I nurse at night but have not quite figured out typing with one hand.

We're doing well, although it's been a big adjustment. C is a wonderful eater and has been nursing pretty well. I had some severe pain the first few days but it's been much better yesterday and today. Also, he's already above his birth weight!

I have been struggling a bit with the "baby blues" this week and am just trying to get into a routine. My husband is home with me this week but I find that it hits the hardest when he runs out. Also, the mornings are much more difficult for me-- by 1pm, I seem to feel much better. I have a feeling that it's partly the sheer exhaustion, but I am going to keep my eye on it and will talk with my doctor if it continues more than another week or so.

I am SO happy to hear about how you're doing!

@Clery: Congratulations! I hope that you're enjoying every minute with your sweet little boy and making it through the "tougher" moments. Please let me know if you'd like to talk more about it-- I have been having a very similar week of adjustment.
@lindsaykaye: Congratulations on your baby girl-- her name is just beautiful! I hope you've been having a good week adjusting.
@ChelseaRose: Your little guy is absolutely precious! Love that picture of him
@SLR: Welcome-- it's great to "meet" you here. Hope you're feeling well as you're getting closer.
@kml636: I know how you feel not knowing "when" Baby is making its arrival-- the waiting game is almost the hardest part. I was scheduled to be induced and wound up going into labor on my own 2 days earlier.
@mrsjyw: Any progress since you lost your plug?! Anxiously awaiting!
@highwire- Hang in there, you're getting so close.
@mamamoose- How was the movie-- did it bring anything on?!
@scg00387: Beautiful picture of your belly this week-- you looked so happy
@PurpleUnicorn: Can't wait to hear your news!!!! Hoping everything went well!

I'm sure I'm leaving off some of you and I will blame it on baby brain

@Meggo5: I totally had the baby blues for the first 12 days. It was weird because I've never had anything like depression in my life so it was really tough. I think it was the hormones plus the adjustment and lack of sleep. Everything felt so overwhelming and I felt so anxious. But it got better for me on day 13 and I feel almost back to normal now. Still some anxiety but not nearly as bad as day 10-11. Definitely check with your doc if it doesnt get better by 2 weeks. I cried every day basically. It really sucked. I'm here if you want to chat! That goes for @clery: too!

Cramping like crazy but nothing painful. Bout to put up our Christmas tree and do a lil late night Christmas shopping if I can't sleep!

Im excited for the symptoms, but also trying to mentally prepare that I could be like this for at least another week!

I am so so happy to read about all the new Nov babies! I can't believe our list is almost half gone to the qt newborns!!

Thinking of you all mamas ♥

@PrincessBaby: lol im trying to post updates so the ladies aren't left wondering! Ps. R u nervous about induction? I want to avoid it but after I pass edd on Sunday I think I'm going to be induced mon/tues next wk and am trying to prepare mentally for the elective induction

@mrsjyw: Yes, I am nervous! When we first decided to do that, I was excited that we knew for sure my DH would be here, and I was happy to know and "end date." But now I'm REALLY hoping that she comes on her own before that, because I'm getting worried about my body not being ready and it taking forever. If you are induced bc you're past your DD, I'm sure your body will be somewhat ready to have the baby, so I don't want to make you worry too because hopefully you will spit the baby right out- lol:) I am getting the induction ad 39&2 and so I'm worried I'm not going to progress and I'll stay closed up like a clam:) I am really trying to talk her into coming sooner on her own!

@highwire I am the opposite - husband is gone thru Friday so everyone is on pins and needles hoping I don't go into labor before then.. after he is home.. serious eviction notice LOL

@Meggo5 thanks so much glad to hear feeding is going well, that is what I'm most nervous about but I hope your baby blues go away soon and you can get some quality rest soon!!

@mrsjyw: Good idea. I've been having a bunch of (random, no rhythm) BH contractions last night and today. Grr. Oh and I tried taking my prenatals again after a long break, got constipated from them, and now I think I have some hemmeroids going on because of it. Yeehaw!
