    @MamaMoose: That's awesome you're making progress. Wish I was!!

@kml636: The name is soooo pretty...ditto on the telling your MIL to shush! We went through the same with some name choices of ours....to the point that I don't know that one of the names I had really liked before (Campbell) is in the running anymore. So, we still don't have a name for baby girl. A few options, but nothing certain.

I went back to the doctor this afternoon and to my disappointment, not a whole lot going. Around 60% effaced, 1.5cm dilated. I have to go back on Monday for another ultrasound and nonstress test since I'll be past my due date. Assuming that looks fine, we'll be penciling in an induction for the 26th.

I'm still working and will as long as possible so I have as much time as possible home with the baby, but mentally, I completely checked out about a week ago.

@SLR: I love Campbell! So cute. I was/am also still working, but I'm sick of everyone's annoying comments and asking inappropriate questions like the state of my cervix and telling me to just DTD to get her out... So I'll be working from home here on out.

@highwire: Awwww that collection thing sounds like a nightmare! How much longer do you have to do it?

@kml636: how much sleep do you get each night? Preg insomnia sucks

@travelgirl1: sneaking in here from the Dec 2012 mamas. I can't sleep either. Just emailed in sick to work for today.

How are you feeling? Just wide awake?

@travelingbrit: sorry you can't sleep, hope you're not feeling too bad.

Up breastfeeding here, but because she's still struggling with it I have to give her breast, then bottle, then pump, so takes a while. Here's some late night cuteness for you all!

    @travelgirl1: adorable! And teeny tiny!
Hopefully the BFing will get better soon.
It's crazy to think that in about 3weeks I'll be awake to feed my baby, instead of awake because I'm sick/can't sleep/uncomfortable.
I'm enjoying seeing the Nov mamas with their babies. Looking forward to seeing some new ones in the next few days, I hope!

Going to try for some sleep now.

So, I went in to my doctor's office this morning to turn in my sample and do a blood draw. Doc is officially gone on his trip now until the 24th.

My blood pressure was still high (top number has been steadily in the 150s now for weeks more or less). I still have an appointment with a different doctor (Dr. Abbassi) next week, who will be receiving a fax of my urine/blood results. But the staff said I needed to call a totally different doctor at first (Dr. Peters?), but I argued that that wasn't who I was told I'd be meeting with. Everything got mostly straightened out but then I proceeded to have a huge meltdown in the car about all of this. I'm worried that my test results are going to go to the wrong office and/or will just be floating in limbo and then everything is going to just go dark on Thanksgiving.

I guess if the situation was that serious, people would be paying closer attention. Maybe it isn't a huge deal to be having almost every symptom of pre-eclampsia. But, if I have pre-eclampsia, do I need to be induced? Do I need to be on bed rest? Is everything okay with my baby? No one can tell me anything. I just feel like everyone is already on holiday mode and something scary is coming up in my pregnancy and NO ONE CARES AT ALL.

I tried calling Dr. Abbassi's office to express my concerns. They told me to call my original OB office, and then I called them and they couldn't tell me anything besides "The other office will call you as soon as they have the results". Okay. Awesome.

Luckily today is my last day of work and I can spend the weekend resting and I will try not to stress out. Blah.

@highwire: Do you have any idea what your blood pressure needs to be at in order for an induction to be needed? I am sorry I am not educated about this, but I think I would feel exactly like you do - that I was being blown off in the midst of the holidays because I'm not the patient of the fill-in doctor. And I would be upset too!

  29. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@PrincessBaby: No idea!! I wish someone could at least tell me SOMETHING along those lines. Like, is there a cuttoff?

  30. ChelseaRose

    persimmon / 1161 posts

@highwire: When my bp was about 150/100 my OB sent me for a few hours of monitoring, blood work, etc. at the hospital. This happened three times. The last time was earlier on the day that I was admitted and my induction was started. My bp usually got better in the hospital and was always better at home. On 10/29 my bp at home after relaxing was 160/100. I called the paging service for my OB practice and the OB had me go to the hospital. My bp was actually a little higher than that at the hospital, which is why they kept me. However, other than the high bp I did not have pre-eclampsia symptoms. I was 38w5d at the time, so it was not as risky for the baby to be born. I don't know if there is a specific cutoff for bp. However, if you feel that something is not right then be very firm with the OB. The night I went to the hospital I felt lightheaded and just off in general.

  31. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@ChelseaRose: Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't feel particularly off or lightheaded, so I'm taking that as a good sign. My weight gain has actually tapered off this past week and my swelling hasn't been quite so bad.

I slept terribly last night and I'm pretty sure my exhaustion contributed to my total cry fest and freak out this morning. I've got nothing on the agenda this weekend so I'm going to get lots of rest and if anything changes and I start feeling weird, I'll go in to get monitored for sure. My next appt is on Wednesday, but I'm hoping they call on Monday or Tuesday with the results (and I may try calling them if I don't hear anything)

@highwire: That's good you're not feeling any bad symptoms...Do you have a bp cuff or know anyone you can borrow one from to monitor it? I know they have free BP check stations at some pharmacies, like WalMart...you just sit in the chair and it's automatic. But your plan of resting a lot sounds like a good one:). I have noticed that when I'm tired as a preg, I cry bc I can't handle any stress at all.

  33. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@PrincessBaby: I needed a good cry, that's for sure! It had been a few weeks and I just totally lost it this morning for about an hour.

That's a good idea bout checking it myself. I don't think we have a blood pressure cuff, but I will try and hit up Walgreens or something this weekend if I start feeling nervous/stressed out about it again.

  34. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@highwire: I wouldnt know how to take my own bp but I think the auto ones would be helpful to run in and stick your arm in if you start to feel different or get concerned:)

  35. immabeetoo

    honeydew / 7687 posts

@highwire ugh that sounds awful! I hope they surprise you and get back to you today so you can relax this weekend

I don't remember if I posted this or not, but I had a terrible 24 hour headache the other night/day and my Mom urged me to go take my BP at one of those kiosks... I took it 3 times in a row and it was somewhere in the 140s/80s... my OB had me come in because they said those were not reliable and they wanted to check me out. There, my BP was 112/80something and they said they were not worried at all.

so.. if you go to one of the stand alone machines, don't panic if it says it's super high like I did! I guess if they don't calibrate them regularly they lose effectiveness

@scg00387: Ah - thanks for that! I bet my parents have a cuff at home - I might ask to borrow theirs.

@highwire @princessbaby yeah, unfortunately You might be able to con a minute clinic type doctor to take your BP for free though??

have @mamamoose or @mrsjyw posted today?? curious how they are doing! I'm finally aboard the mucus plug losing train (um GROSS) and hoping they are ushering their babies into the world, which would obviously indicate that I will follow exactly and go into labor tomorrow...
