@mrsjyw: No such luck here. I think you might win this race! Hey, at least you had a chance to see the last Twilight though?!?!
@Meggo5: Thanks!!
I have to say that as of last weekend I wasn't quite ready to be done. I was getting kind of nostalgic, thinking I'd miss being preggo, and regretting that we hardly took any belly pics along the way. But what a difference a week can make....I'm ready....bring it! Can't wait to be able to be chime in and swap tips with all the mammas here.
Have my last (hopefully) appointment tomorrow morning and will be doing another NST and U/S. (Hoping my little butterball hasn't gotten a whole lot bigger!) If no luck this week, plans are to induce on the 26th.

@mrsjyw: you are RIGHT there. I was cramping and then upset that they didn't get worse when I woke up at 2am. Went to the bathroom all resigned and boom, water broke on the toilet. i have a feeling you're going to go any minute!
blogger / pear / 1964 posts
Does your cramping come and go? I can feel it a ton in my pelvis area (though not really my belly) and it feels like period cramps. It's the worst in the evening the last few days - bad enough at times to be painful, but then it goes away by morning.
"Real" contractions will hurt, right? I'm assuming all this tightening I'm feeling on and off in my belly (as opposed to my pelvis) isn't the real thing because they aren't painful...

@slr @mrsjyw due date, ack! hoping those babies get moving today!
I feel like all our later november babies are taking their sweet time, what is up with that! Every morning when I wake up and haven't felt much all night I am so bummed! I just checked, the next full moon isn't until 11/28 ... what other myths and folktales can I investigate for labor induction...
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@Mrs. Tricycle: Do you think it has anything to do with the EPO at all? I did 2 capsules (1300 mg) last night vaginally, and I had some period-like cramping that I noticed throughout the night when I tossed/turned/got up to pee. I actually got a little worried because DH isn't home until Monday night from working offshore, but it was gone by the time I got up this morning.
Maybe that means it's doing good stuff?
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@scg00387: Yeah - I'm pretty sure baby girl could not be more cozy in there. I kept hearing that the movements would slow down and they'd run out of room, but I haven't noticed that at all. Lots of movement and doc keeps saying baby doesn't feel too big at all, so there's not much incentive to get out of there it seems like
blogger / pear / 1964 posts
@PrincessBaby: I'm not sure! I guess it could be, or maybe my uterus rebelling against the cervical check from Friday? Who knows!! This while process is a little more mysterious/vague than I'd prefer.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@highwire You've made a cozy home I've definitely felt less movement - but every once in a while he sticks a limb straight out and it takes my breath away... I sure hope that he doesn't think he can exit out my belly button haha.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@scg00387: oh man I am right there with you. Every now and then I'll get to the point of worry because movement has slowed down so much and then all of a sudden I will be jabbed in the ribs by a very strong little foot.

@highwire: Nursing actually seems to be going well. Her first checkup was great and she gained weight back from when we were discharged from the hospital (but had not yet caught up to her birth weight) and she's making plenty of diapers which are all good signs. It's tiring, and sleep is hard even with my husband and I on shifts because I am the one to always have to wake and nurse her so while it's 'my shift' he can sleep uninterrupted for hours. And I am so jealous
Just for you ladies who have reached your due dates and are getting close (which is like everyone!!) I really felt totally the same in the days leading up to labor. But I was reading everything about how people felt and what they did leading up to it so I thought I woud share my experience (even if a little tmi?).
I had a check at 39w 3d and was at 2 cm, then again at 40w 4d I was the same. I Had some of that periodic but not painful or regular cramping for a couple weeks but it always was gone by the morning. And I think I passed my mucous plug after my first check but who knows?
I had an good big cry after my last appointment (the day before I delivered) about being 'over due' and all that it entails. The waiting is SO HARD. Then, we had some sex, I took a nap, and we had dinner and hung out with some friends. Still kind of bummed and feeling totally normal.
Then 3:30 am hit and hey, these are contractions! I was feeling like I had to pee a lot more frequently during early labor and had a lot of streaky discharge the whole time.
Anyway - the waiting was really emotionally difficult, and I was surprised to go into labor when I did.

@lindseykaye: glad nursing's going so well for you and baby's weight is good. I know what you mean about tiredness, A only ever slept if she was laying on me so even when she was asleep I couldn't switch off for fear of her rolling off but we played white.noise last night for first time and she stayed in her moses basket the whole time. I got so much more sleep-but I did miss her. Bless her

hey everyone! i've totally been MIA and i totally want to go back and read everything i have missed. before I do though, i wanted to announce that my precious baby boy, Louis Alexandre "Unicorn" was born on November 13th at 3:17am!! I am just starting to organize all my pictures, so I will come back and post a couple soon.
In brief, i was in labor from 11pm on November 11th until 2am on November 13th and finally had to have a c-section which I did not want at all, but in the end, i have my healthy baby boy and that's all that matters, right?!

@mrsjyw maybe contractions will wake you up tonight!!
I can't believe this is Thanksgiving week - if I'm still pregnant, I think we're going to go out to eat UGH!! My next appointment is Tuesday morning, I really hope my darn cervix has kicked it into gear by then!!

@scg00387: i'm debating if i should try the EPO vaginally tonight...

@PurpleUnicorn: yay, congratulations and what a gorgeous name! Sorry you ended up with a c section, but at least you're all healthy and recovery feels much better in week 2. Big hugs to baby!

@lindseykaye: Thanks for your labor story!
@PurpleUnicorn: Aw yay, congrats on baby Louis!
@scg00387: I can't believe it is Thanksgiving week either!
And tomorrow is Monday morning and I will not be getting up to go to work. It feels so weird! I have absolutely nothing whatsoever going on in terms of labor/mucus plug/etc, so I feel a little guilty and like I should just go into work....BUT that's crazy lol. I have a biggie spa appointment at 11 where I'm getting like 4 different services done and burning through a big giftcard I got, and then I'm going to pick up supplies to cook a yummy meal for DH when he gets home and enjoy playing like I am a rich housewife. Wednesday I've got an OB appt with that other doctor and a chiropractic appointment. And then the family is coming over to our place for a low-key, pre-made Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday! Wonder if all of that will still happen or a baby arrives instead. Can't wrap my mind around the fact that we are down to the wire, pretty much! Absolute last possible moment this could go to is my scheduled induction on December 3rd, so one way or another this thing is happening in the next few weeks (but hopefully not too much longer!)
honeydew / 7687 posts
@mrsjyw I conned hubby into massaging accupressure points this afternoon ha! I'm going to ask my OB about the EPO on Tuesday I think!
@lindseykaye that is helpful to read!! thanks for sharing, a good reminder to be patient (not my strong suit) and i'm glad nursing is going well!!
honeydew / 7687 posts
@highwire yay for no work!! hope your spa appointment is ahhhmazing and that your husband thanks you for the meal... I have a bunch of freezer meals done but I have been lax about cooking dinner because I keep optimistically saying "but I don't want the leftovers to sit while we're in the hospital!!"
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@scg00387: Ha same! Our freezer is stacked to the brim but our fridge is totally empty. We actually dove into a bit of the freezer stash already!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@highwire: enjoy your day tomorrow friend, you deserve it! LOL at "that other dr"
@scg00387: ive def been passing on the cooking dinners. need to hit the grocery store tomorrow if we don't get scheduled an induction!
DH is officially off work starting tomorrow! He's getting six weeks paid!!! (between vacation saved, 1 wk paternity, and his boss giving him extra paid time off!!)
It's nice to know that at least I'll have him with him to fight the mental battle of waiting this week!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@mrsjyw: Your DH's paternity leave is AMAZING! I thought DH had a generous PTO policy but yours is way better
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@highwire: it's def not the norm, he had 2 weeks saved up, + holidays (timing), 1 week paternity, got an unexpected promotion last month which came with an extra week of vaca, and then the rest was his boss' generous policy
honeydew / 7687 posts
@mrsjyw OMG that is so cool that he gets that much time off!! wowza!! green with envy. we're stuck using all PTO and trying to "ration" some for both pre- and post-move but I wish he had 6 weeks to stay at home and bond!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@mrsjyw: So cool! I'm glad we all had babies near the holidays so all of our DHs can hopefully sneak in a few extra days off from work to spend with us
pear / 1879 posts
@mrsjyw: That's amazing leave that your husband has! My husband is back to work today and I will be sad to see him go, although I think we're both getting ready.
It's been a rough night here. After 2 consecutive nights of 4+ hours of sleep in a row, C has been up every 2 again. Also, he had 2 open air diaper change accidents last night, resulting in some pee on his face. It almost broke my heart and made me feel so sad that I let him do that. He was ok after being cleaned up but I just felt so, so sad that I could not control the direction of his pee. So we are currently on our third outfit of the night and C has been pretty fussy so far which is unlike him.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@Meggo5: we r so grateful for the time! Sorry C is having trouble sleeping! Hope ur not too exhausted!
Can't wait to join on being a zombie mom vs. Insane pregnancy insomnia.

Hey ladies! I've been MIA for awhile but just caught up on everyone's updates. Congrats to all the new mommas! I'm jealous of some of the progress some of you have had. At this rate @mrsjyw I think you'll beat me to it! I had a checkup on my due date and wasn't dilated at all, not even enough for a sweep. I have another appt tomorrow and a NST. Really hoping something has changed and I can get a sweep! Had a few cramps and some pelvic pressure today, but not much and not sure it's headed anywhere. Well schedule an induction tomorrow as well, maybe for the 26th?
persimmon / 1161 posts
@Meggo5: My little guy has been extra fussy and hungry today. Like the second he realizes that he's hungry he becomes hysterical even if he just nursed 45 minutes ago. Don't stress about the open air accidents. They seem to happen to all parents, especially with boys. The worst middle of the night accident that we had involved poop on the curtains. Haha.
persimmon / 1161 posts
@PurpleUnicorn: congrats! I hope your recovery goes well! I'm 2.5 weeks post cesarean and I usually forget I even had surgery.

Hi ladies! Absolutely no updates here. Probay have my membranes swept again tomorrow. Then maybe an induction Friday. Sooo beyond frustrated.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@Meggo5: we have several open air incidents a night-in fact just had one, although girl per is easier to control, I think.
After making big steps forward with nursing A has been fighting me on it again overnight, pulling herself off, crying and fighting with her hands. Her diapers are green and mucousy too, wish I knew what was wrong. Seeing a lactation consultant again today, hope we get some answers.
