@petuniasandpearls counting down! glad to see you checking in

@SLR yep, after each exam. sadly, it goes away for me after I sleep and doesn't develop into anything

Saw the DR today at 40+5 (about 4 hours ago) and was 1-2 cm, 50% effaced, and a soft cervix she said. She did a membrane sweep so really hoping that will get things going. Have a NST tomorrow. Induction is scheduled for the 26th (41+4).

Having really mild, random cramping/contractions tonight...hope that means something is moving along here.

Can't decide if I should call the doc or not. It doesn't seem to be going away, but it's not getting worse either. Still every 5 minutes or so with some blood-tinged mucus (sorry!) and a sore lower back. As of this am, I was still at just 1.5cm and 50-60% effaced. I'd really hate to disturb the doctor in the middle of the night for a false alarm.

Such (potentially!) exciting news tonight! Hoping you're all making some good progress

After 2 amazing nights of sleep, we are now enduring a second terrible night. My son (I still haven't gotten used to saying that, by the way!!!!) cannot seem to settle himself down and has been wanting to nurse all day long. He falls asleep at the breast though and I don't know how much milk he is actually getting. He is fussy and trying to put his hands in his mouth and shakes his head around (leading me to think he's hungry) but when I try nursing again, he falls asleep. It's very difficult.

My amazing husnbabd brought the rock n play sleeper upstairs just now to see if he'll sleep in it. Not having much luck in the co-sleeper tonight. He doesn't even want to close his eyes to try to sleep. I am rocking the sleeper with one foot while typing this, trying to lull him into a good sleep.

I just wish my little boy would get some sleep tonight.

@SLR: I would call the doc. My cramping that I have after cervical checks is constant. It's nothin that can be timed. What you are describing sounds like labor! Keep us posted!!

@SLR: sounds like labor to me too! My cramps weren't really too bad for several hours but they were regular with bloody mucous discharge too. They only got 'worse' after I was up moving around but because they started early in the AM I slept/rested as long as I could. And I was 2cm and 30-50% effaced the morning prior at my check (no progress from the week before) so it can totally happen that fast!
I really think getting checked helped move me along even without a full membrane sweep.

@SLR: hi due date twin! Sounds exactly like what I'm feeling rt now. Tho I'm not sure if mine r that consistently timeable yet.
Hope u r in l&d now! Thinkong of you today!

Slept past my usual 4am wakeup call. Experiencing some lower back pain/#2 urge/period cramping. And bloody show. Just eaiting to see if it is just a fluke or not...

I'm with you ladies in the "is this labor?" camp. Serious back pain every 10-15 minutes last night, but finally feel asleep around 2:30 AM. Forcing myself to stay in bed, but a lot less action so far this morning.

Sounds like maybe highwire, SLR, mrs. Tricycle & mrsjyw all might be close, I'm hoping its the beg of labor you are all feeling! Nothing here yet, I'm about to go to bed (overseas) but hoping I get an early wake up due to some contractions!

Oh how funny would it be if we were in labor at the same times... still just waiting it out. I came to the guest room after my bathroom break so dh gets his sleep.

Went 2 and am def still feeling the pelvic pressure/cramping...not painful (yet)...fingers crossed.

Now I'm just writing a blog post to keep track of these last few wks before I foeget it all!

Rereadi g hb birth stories too LOL

@mrsjyw: I hear ya on the #2 . . . I've made that stop a few times this morning - and moved to the guest room around 2:30. So annoyed because at 1:00 AM I was SURE we'd be packing up for the hospital by now as I was feeling some pretty great pain last night, but now practically nothing. What gives!?!

  16. mrsjyw

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts

@Mrs. Tricycle: that's how I felt sat night then finally fell asleep.and woke up to nothing on due date.

It hasn't gotten any worse yet today so I'm assuming itll fade by day when I get moving... damn symptoms.

I really wish I were also in the "is this labor" camp - I was awakened by a spider crawling up my arm, not cramping Ugh cannot get back to sleep!

Can't wait to hear some more progression from y'all today though!

Thanks for all the updates and that silly link! Haha.

Actually slept pretty great last night ( massage yesterday and DH actually was willing to sleep next to me and cuddle lol )

Still very crampy but it is so mild that when I'm up and moving or talking I can't feel a thing...so this is probably not the real deal yet. Either way, I'm just glad something is going on

  21. mrsjyw

Slept for a lil bit ... pelvic pressure is still around and I'm starting tk have.mild contractions that are def separate which I've never experienced before.... haven't timed timedd them yet... still too far apart and sporadic

Good luck to all you ladies feeling contractions! I just feel kind of like my period is coming. Nothing definite, just dull aching down there.

  23. mrsjyw

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts

    @kml636: that's how mine started!!

Got in.an hr of sleep... took a shower... contractions are still bearable and probably around ten-15 min apart... going to eat bfast and take care of odds/ends to see if it progresses further

  26. MamaMoose

@mrsjyw: @Mrs. Tricycle: I was up all night going #2 as well! I was so excited when I woke up feeling crampy but so far best I can tell it's just stomach issues and not labor. And unfortunately all the "activity" is causing my hemorrhoids to act up so now I'm kind of hoping I get a couple days for that to clear up before labor starts! Uhhh... so much fun!

    @mrsjyw: yeah yeah!!

@MamaMoose: ugh yes on the hemorrhoids mamd frequent #2s...

My mom wants to come over today but I kind of just want to be alone and relax. I'm worried we are going to spend the whole day over analyzing symptoms and discussing her excitement and its going to make me feel more anxious. Plus, My in laws are coming in thurs/Friday and staying with us so this will be my only time to be alone (since I have doctors appts tomorrow)

Kind of just want to take a bath and watch felicity in the dark lol

@highwire did your blood pressure get better?? and I hear you about just being alone.. I told my husband I was trying not to be a huge b*tch to everyone but that is basically what I feel like lately

Appointment today! Membrane sweep (which was not painful at all, phew!) dilated to a 2 and extremely hopeful.
