@mrsjyw YAY!!!! Good luck!
I'm having a lot of cramping today but I had the same thing last week...I feel like I might be dilating more, but don't think it's the start of anything. But it feels like progress, so Ill take it.

@mrsjyw: best of luck!
So glad I opted to call the doctor last night (who wasnt convinced I had progressed that much since just that morning)! Baby girl Emerson was born at 7:26 this am. 6lbs, 11oz. 21" long. Had a lot of meconium in her but scored a 9 on the apgar and is doing well!

@SLR: I knew it wasn't just from the cervical check!!! Welcome baby Emerson! Can't wait to hear more details once you are rested up ; )
@petuniasandpearls: I hope it means you're at least making some progress! This waiting game is so tough!!!

@SLR: oh how exciting! I'm just the tiniest bit jealous!!
Dr's appt this afternoon - dilated a whopping 1 cm and 30% effaced. Impressive, right??
Did get some strategies to deal with the back pain and permission to take Benadryl for sleeping (and the promise of Ambien tomorrow if Benadryl doesn't do the trick).. At least it wasn't a total waste.
Now the waiting continues.

@kml636: sometimes all it takes is an eviction date and labor is around the corner!! Either way it is almost time
My contractions disappeared completely today after having them all night...but now they seem to be starting again. Hmm

@highwire: I read somewhere (after experiencing the same thing), that it's a pretty typical false labor pattern. It's so annoying, right??
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@Mrs. Tricycle: super annoying!! Hope it is at least helping to efface/thin out/dialate a little
honeydew / 7687 posts
@mrstricycle maybe one good night's sleep is all it will take!
@kml636 end date in sight, woo!! maybe the official eviction notice will motivate that little one
@highwire thats where I've been at the past few nights - I am so excited and then they die down once I wake up but, it meant more dilation for me than last Thursday so hopefully it's doing the same for you!!
for those that are waiting for labor to start- how many people do you think will visit you in the hospital? we'll just have each set of parents, but for some reason I just can't imagine what that looks like (never visited anyone while they were there, just at home after baby). I mean.. I am supposed to breastfeed every 2 hours, be monitored, etc. I told my husband he is on 'glare duty' as in, if I glare at him, he needs to clear everyone out.... but I feel bad since both parents will be driving about 6 hours to see us!
pomegranate / 3225 posts
@scg00387: I like the glare duty thing! I'm really anxious about the number of people coming to the hospital. Even my coworkers told me they wanted to come! Eeek! I thought it would be only family. I'm going to just not answer my phone I suppose.

My doctor's office posted my test results tonight from my blood work and 24 urine catch for pre-eclampsia. Everything came back within normal limits. Phew!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@scg00387: our families will have to fly in so I said no one gets to come until I'm home from the hospital. When thy are visiting from far away it's not like they have anywhere else to go ad I just didn't want that stress of feeling like I would be rude kicking them out if we want some alone time as a new little family. We will probably have a few friends who will want to come by but no one that we aren't close enough to say "sorry I want you to go now" and they won't be offended at all.

@highwire: yaaaay! It must be nice to not have that added worry!

@MamaMoose: i actually pumped for the first time today and we're going to try giving a bottle later tonight. we'll see how it goes! i wrote that post mid-meltdown. today was way better...she didn't have latching problems today.
@clery: i think i do have to use a little more force to get her on too - i just feel like she is going to hate me for "forcing" her to feed, even though i know its silly. are you struggling with the baby blues? they are awful. i felt so alone even though i had my DH and parents with me, and they've been so supportive. and i also feel the same thing when the sun sets...it gets dark so early now, and i feel depressed and filled with dread when nighttime comes and i don't really know why. i think its the lack of sleep and hating the middle of the night feedings. i've been trying to get out of the house more and take walks and soak up some sun. it definitely helps my mood.
@travelgirl1: i'm not sure if its the slow flow that is bothering her...its usually when she just fed within the last hour or 1.5 hours and will be making her hungry noises, and then she has problems latching and will just slobber all over and move her head from side to side frantically and then start crying out of frustration. and yesterday i was crying out of frustration too! it was funny, she had just FINALLY latched on and i was sobbing my tears all over her head and she just went on happily feeding and then fell asleep for 4 hours.
@mrsjyw: yay! i can't wait to hear your birth story and see your little guy!
@SLR: congrats!! so exciting!
i can't believe how much action this board has seen today! i'm so happy for all of our November mamas!

Welcome Emerson!
@SLR: yes! I was thinking if you this morning when I was up so early. Beautiful name!
