@JessLC: Aw it is awful to see them thrashing their little heads about like that when they're frustrated. Ariela is getting better at it now but only because I have the nipple shield, she can't latch without it. Was last night any easier for you?
@MamaMoose: Yay, it's great you have an inducation date!

@clery: Your story sounds exactly like ours! A lost 11% and our doctor told us to supplement with formula - we did it for one day before my milk came in and have been doing a combo of expressed milk in bottles and nursing ever since. The nipple shield has saved my life, she does so much better with it! I found it hard to shut out the people telling me not to use bottles and shields and to persevere with getting her to latch but after my meltdown realised that what they think really doesn't matter and to be fair my doctor is fabulous at being realistic too, it was other people driving me insane. How have you got on with nursing over the last few days?

@JessLC: Yeah, sometimes it is a struggle to get him on but they are quite strong so some force is definitely needed to get him to attach. I am definitely suffering from baby blues, especially at around 4 pm when it gets dark. Walks and visitors have been a great way of dealing with it. My program also has a postpartum group which I plan to join after I heal. I heard it is a great place to get support from other mommies. How are you feeling these days?
@travelgirl1: Glad to hear that the nipple shield worked great for you! The perscription nipple cream was a big help for me. Nursing these days have been better. He is latching on well on the right but we still need to work on the left a little. This morning he went on a feeding frenzy for around 3 hours. Glad that his latching skills have improved or it would have drove me crazy!
@mrsjyw: congratulations! whoot!

So, I had my doctor's appointment with the other OB today and I'm pretty sure I love her. I wish she was my doctor. Ha. It is probably a little too late to switch now, right?
My office only sent over half the test results that I took last week for pre-eclampsia (UGH) after I called to confirm yesterday and make sure they were sent over in advance of my appointment. Super annoying.
We surprisingly got to have an ultrasound and a NST which was great! We haven't seen the little one since 24 weeks so it was nice to take a peak and I'm glad I got to do the NST and make sure everything looked good there. The ultrasound tech measured her at around 8 lbs 2 oz. I know those numbers can be off by a pound but it sounds like she's at least 7+ and might be as much as over 9! Wee. Healthy lady.
My blood pressure was still high (top numbers in the 150s) but the doc said we can just sit tight on that for now since I "passed" the 24 hour urine catch and related blood work. I went ahead and bought a blood pressure cuff and am going to keep an eye on my blood pressure at home from now on. If my numbers go into the 160s, the doc says we should probably induce at that point. But, I'm hoping labor is on its way in a matter of days anyway, so we'll see if we can avoid an induction. If nothing happens over the next few days, I'm going to be seeing both my OB and the one I saw today each week until I go into labor. My OB will do the usual urine/blood pressure/weight check and this other doctor will be doing the ultrasound and NST.
After doing so much resting the last several days, going out to the doctor's appointment and all the excitement involved wiped me out enough to allow me to take a two hour nap today. Felt great! I'm coming down with a mild head cold, so that might also be why I needed the added rest.
Other than that, not much else to report! No regular contractions to speak of, and nothing seems to be coming out down there besides the usual (TMI?!)
Thankful to see all of my fellow November ladies becoming mommies! Hope I can join you all soon.
