Thanks everyone!!!!
Is anyone else hesitant after finding out baby gender to buy gender specific items? Being it was so hard to see....I am hesitant. Baby put herself in the corner as much as she could...so the pictures were not good at all. It was kind of dissapointing because this is one out in town we paid for and got a DVD and what not....and its so much searching and trying to see. Being so far to one side there was not much amniotic fluid around her to see clearly.

Ladies - cross your fingers for our scan! it is scheduled for Wednesday which is exactly when we are supposed to be getting a lot of weather from the hurricane/tropical storm. I am going to be really mad if 1. weather prevents me from going or 2. the power goes out and they can't do it!!!

@coacheswife123: Fingers are crossed for you!!!
My next scan is on the 17th of Sept. Im thinking I am goign to hold off on anything until then. Just wondering if I am the only one who feels this way!

@Rescuemom10: i haven't even had my scan yet and i've had so many folks who tell me "if its a girl be sure you bring a boy outfit to the hospital just in case" and that FREAKS me out! haha!
Maybe your Sept appt will give you some reassurance!
pear / 1965 posts
@coacheswife123: I hope that it does.
Yeah totally agree on the bring an extra outfit thing. I just heard two different stories that freaked me out. A gal I know had 4 ultrasounds...each time being told girl...finally at one of her later ones they discovered it was a BOY!
Then my best friend just told me about this girl she works with...who just had her baby like two weeks ago. Was told it was a girl, had a decked out nursery all frilly and girly, clothes and everyhting all pink....went into labor and delivered a boy!

@Rescuemom10: Our tech was absolutely certain it was a boy, so I'm not feeling that. But I bet if it was a girl, I would be. Hopefully your next u/s will give you a better look! Tell that little one to be cooperative next time! (c:

@Rescuemom10: those are the same things i've heard!! What do you do, completely re-do the nursery with a newborn???
BUT i'm sure your little girl will be a sweet little lady - so try not to fret!

@eiko2010: They had two people look...and they were not the most convincing....just because it was such a struggle and all too. Im so anxious for the 17th now! Ugh!

@coacheswife123: good luck!
@edelweiss: mine is thursday too!
Sooooooo DH and I split a mango last night...and this AM i find out they're getting recalled for salmonella. If i get sick i will be:
A. terrified and B. pissed.
pear / 1965 posts
@dagret: Fingers crossed you dont get sick! Yikes!
So I went online to look at the website where we got our u/s done at. Seeing as we went out in town to a place and paid out of pocket. Saw on their page that you can go back up to two additional times if you are not satisfied. Well I called and talked to the receptionist and she remembered me because of how long I was there. She said I should def come back in so we can take another look. I feel so much better. Hope this little one is better for us this Thursday.

@Rescuemom10: oh, i'm glad they will bring you back in! cooperate little one!!

@dagret: I can't believe fruit has salmonella! What's the point of avoiding not fully cooked eggs and everything else, when you can get it from cantaloupe, mango, or spinach?
My scan is tomorrow! I'm so nervous...just want to hear that everything is fine.

@coacheswife123: I was worried about the same thing but it moved west! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
@Rescuemom10: Nice that they allow you to come back. Hope it is easier next time for them.
@Mrs Green Grass: Good Luck tomorrow! I dont know about you but inbetween scans I dont worry too much, but once we close to the next one I start to worry that everything is still ok.
We have our anatomy scan tomorrow, I am hoping it feels more real once we find out the gender. I really hope we are team pink but like everyone says healthy either way.

Hi all. I'm new to Hellobee -- due with my first babe toward the end of January! I'm seeing that lots of you are talking about finding out the gender, and I was just wondering... anyone else going to let it be a surprise? Seems that's not a very popular option these days, but we decided we'd wait it out
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@pinkb: LUCKY! hope your scan goes great - can't wait to hear!
@allison: i wish i was patient enough to wait it out - the wait is killing me! Kudos to you for waiting! And welcome!

@Rescuemom10: Don't worry!! I'm sure the gender mix up doesn't happen that often. At least you get to go back to see!!!

@allison: welcome! we were team green with #1. It is a great surprise in the delivery room...I had 13+ U/S because of some issues and they were able to keep it under wraps, my MD didn't even know until she was born

@allison: welcome and congratulations! i think that's very exciting to wait to find out the sex. we are going to find out on thursday (hopefully), but i have several friends who waited on finding out and it was such a sweet surprise!
@pinkb: so fitting that your pic is of beautiful pink flowers--congratulations!
@dagret: yay! what time is your appointment? ours is at 2pm.
did anyone announce the sex in some creative/fun way? we're supposed to see my parents after our scan, and we pre-ordered a decorated onesie cookie, one for a girl and one for a boy, and will give them one. totally unnecessary, but i didn't do anything cute for the pregnancy announcement so i thought it would be fun to do something for this--although really, i just want a cookie with icing on it. yum. that's right, i'm going to show it to my parents, then take it back and eat it myself.

@Rescuemom10: glad they'll let you go back in!
@Mrs Green Grass: Good luck with your scan today! Hope everything is perfect.
@pinkb: So happy for you - congrats!
@allison: Welcome! Congrats on team green! I would have liked to be surprised but my husband insisted we find out.
@Pipers Mommy: Good luck today!
@edelweiss: Mine is at 8 am thankfully, there's no way I could sit through a work day in anticipation! Good luck tomorrow!

@edelweiss: my appointment is at 2:30 tomorrow and I am trying to figure out how to get through the work day - haha!
I hope it flies!

@allison: Welcome! I'm so impressed with your resolve to be team green. I thought about it for about two seconds but couldn't do it!
@pinkb: Congrats on your baby girl!! So much pink this month!!!
@Pipers Mommy: Good luck today! Report back asap!!
@edelweiss: We didn't do anything special to announce the gender. It would have involved international shipping for my folks and there was no way I could keep it a secret for longer than a few days. Besides that, everyone thought it was a girl and it is, so there wasn't too much surprise.

Thanks, everyone, for the welcome! I'm excited to be in touch with women who are pregnant along with me. Team Green! Ha, I've never heard of that, but it's cute. Green IS my favorite color. Have y'all felt baby move? I felt my first little flutters a few weeks ago, but this morning baby literally woke me up with his/her kicking. It was crazy. I think it must've been the way I was laying or something bc I haven't felt those super strong movements since. I love it though - so fun!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@allison: I've felt the baby move! from the inside and recently on the outside too. My husband felt a kick on Sunday - its the BEST feeling! How many weeks are you?
pineapple / 12793 posts
@allison: I've been feeling movement for about five weeks now. It's amazing how much stronger she gets every day. I really love feeling her in there. DH has felt her from the outside a few times, but he gets bored waiting for her to move.
pineapple / 12053 posts
@pinkb: yay for team pink! glad she was what you were hoping for!
@edelweiss: i love your idea of announcing! so cute!
pear / 1895 posts
@coacheswife123: I'm 19 weeks. It is SO hard to believe I'm almost halfway. I swear those first 12 weeks crawled by, but these last few have really flown! What about you?
@oliviaoblivia: its the best feeling to feel movement! I feel so much more connected to baby now. My husband has gotten in the habit of putting his hand on my belly when we're watching tv in the evening. That way he's distracted & doesn't get bored.

20 weeks today! although it's said i'm halfway through, i still feel like there is so much more left because i didn't even find out until 4 weeks! DH starts school in LA next week, so i'm going to be going at it alone M-F for the next 8 months! the next 5 months knocked up and then my maternity leave with our little lady.
i'm glad i have you guys to chat with, i'm going to need my fellow bee moms!
honeydew / 7504 posts
@birdofafeather: Congrats on halfway! Wow, I can't believe you'll be doing it alone. We'll be here for you, though! I'm sure we'll all be up hellobee'ing at 2am feedings at some point! Ha ha.
@allison: I definitely felt like the first 14 weeks or so crawled, but it's really picking up steam now. I have a feeling the next 20 will absolutely FLY by what with the holidays and stuff. Hubs and I just sat down and looked at our calendars. We have 5 free weekends between now and our due date. FIVE. ACK!!!!!!
