@BlueWolverine: what did you say/do for your facebook announcement?

  2. BlueWolverine

@birdofafeather: I started a blog to keep far away friends and family updated (especially my mom), so I posted a link to the blog. The link showed the title (Three Months!) and my first bump (or lack thereof) pic. A friend of mine just did an announcement where she posted an ultrasound pic and said something like, "Joe and I are happy to announce that we're expecting a baby in January!" It was pretty simple.

@BlueWolverine: got it. we're trying to hold off until our gender/anatomy scan at the end of august, but i always like hearing what people did!

@BlueWolverine: @birdofafeather: I LOVE hearing how other people announced their pregnancies to people!

I just put a status update on facebook that said "Well, facebook friends, big news - Matt's gonna be a Daddy! And we're pretty sure it's mine!"

How did everyone else make your pregnancy facebook/twitter official?

Sounds like everyone is doing great!

I don't do Facebook or Twitter so a lot of people aren't going to know until I give birth. Most of our family members and close friends know already. We told just about everyone in person.

I am on facebook, but we are not announcing it on there...too public for us!

DH and I told my mom and his parents by buying birthday party invitations. We just moved about 5 months ago to about 7 hours away from all our family, so DH handed the invites to them telling them that we are throwing a party for everyone to come and visit us at our new place. On the invitation we wrote

    For: Baby XX's Birth Day!
date and time: around January 13th, 2013
place: Labor and delivery at XX hospital
rsvp: to proud parents to be mr. & mrs. XX

Half way through my mom caught on and started tearing up.
DH's parents were a little confused ( they were not expecting it at all) after reading it Dh's mom was like "ARE YOU PREGNANT?!

on facebook we announced it as.....

June 14th, 2004- The day DH and I started dating
October 14, 2011- The day DH and I married each other
January 14th, 2013- The day that will change our lives: Parenthood

    Baby XX is coming soon!!!!

(we fudged the arrival date to match the other two hehe, what baby ever comes on time? lol)

Well yesterday went great. I FINALLY got to see baby! Man was baby soooooo active. Wouldnt hold still at all. Was worth the wait and I feel loads of stress off my sdhoulders finally seeing and knowing everything looks good in there.
My Doc just called me right now and is refering me to a specialist because of a genetic conditon thats common in DH's side of the family. Not sure if they will be able to detect if baby has it, but sounds like an extra ultrasound and visit with a specialist. Will be about a 1.5 hr drive. Not too bad. Not terribly worried. DH's Grandfather, father and brother have it. But it doesnt affect that that bad. I cant even remember what its exaclty called. Its a mouthful.
The other thing I am SUPER excited about is because of a condition I have, a previous doctor told me I will have to deliver via c-section when I have kids. My doc told me yesterday that we will do everything we can with in reason to see if I can deliver vaginally. I am excited that the option is there and that I at least feel like its a possibility.

@Mrs Green Grass: Congrats on your baby boy! So exciting!

@Rescuemom10: Yay for an active baby! It's so surreal to watch them moving around in there, isn't it?

I had an ultrasound yesterday (the first of my biweeklies) and baby was moving around so much the tech could barely get the heart rate! She asked me if I'd had a large coffee with a skittles chaser! Still no word from the doctor on the toxo results, and I am completely losing my mind. I called yesterday to see if I could get any info, but they didn't have the results yet and told me the OB would call to discuss the results when they came in.

@eiko2010: I'm glad you wiggler is doing well in there, but you must be so frustrated without your results. I've been thinking about you and wondering if you knew anything yet. Ugh!

Had my 12 week appointment today and everything is great! It was so cool to see both babies wiggling and moving around. I had a dream last night that there was a third baby hidden behind the two so I asked them to double-check today, haha! Still only two!

@Rescuemom10: Yay. So glad to hear it went well. I think you were the last of the January moms to have an ultrasound...it so helps to ease the mind a bit.:) Good luck with specialist. I also have to see a specialist to make sure everything is ok with the bean to make sure I am not passing on any heart issues. I am just looking at it as an extra chance to get to see the bean in there.
@Mrs Green Grass: Congrats on the baby boy! So glad to hear everything is going well with you.

@pinkb: i think @Lone Palm mentioned that she didn't have an U/S until August! how are you doing lone palm?

  21. Rescuemom10

    pear / 1965 posts

@pinkb: Same here. I am not terribly worried and keep looking at it as an extra ultrasound.

My doc called yesterday to tell me about the referal but now its a matter of insurance and what is or is not covered so still looking into that. Ugh!

@eiko2010: It really was. I totally thought I maybe would cry seeing my recent state in emotions, but I was just in awe!!!

Finally told the rest of my office yesterday and today. I'm really getting to the point that I'm not going to be able to hide it much longer at all. More and more I'm having to break out the maternity clothes.

I'm also beginning to have trouble getting comfortable to sleep. Ugh. Always thirsty and up a lot to pee. Pregnancy is no fun.

Hey! When is everyone finding out the gender? I just scheduled my appointment for 8/6 so it won't be long now. Can't wait!

  24. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Andrea: I had scheduled on for Thursday and they cancelled because I'll only be 16w6d - they only do the scan at 17w. What the heck! Now I'm not sure if I'll do the early scan so it looks like I'll find out in mid-August.

When are you going? Are you hoping for another girl?

  25. Andrea

GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts

@oliviaoblivia: Oh, weird that they had you scheduled in the first place? How disappointing! Yes, I totally want another girl, especially since the tech at our NT scan guessed girl. If it's a boy, I'm going to want to strangle him! LOL.

  26. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Andrea: I made the appointment online. I really didn't think one day would make THAT big a deal. Oh well.
Good luck with DD#2. I'd love to have two girls.

GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts

@oliviaoblivia: I guess rules are rules! My hospital needs you to be between 18 and 20 weeks. Yes, fingers crossed for girl #2! So you are hoping for a girl, too?

  28. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Andrea: That's when my OB does it too. I just wanted to go early so I could surprise my mom for her birthday. Maybe we'll find some place in the states that'll do it while we are away.

@Andrea: we bit the bullet and made a 3rd party U/S appt today for gender! i'm nervous that it won't be obvious and i won't believe them anyway, but i'm also super excited because we haven't seen the LO since my 7w dating scan.

@shoemama: @Andrea: and all my other january mommas!!:

It's a GIRL!!! we are sooo excited!! it was so fun to see her moving around in there and the technician was so sweet and made it really special. if it's something you're thinking about at all and you're totally impatient like me, it's totally awesome. (i only like surprises if i don't know they are coming. otherwise, i want to know right away!)

we hadn't seen baby bird since 7w, so it was crazy to see how much she grew from a little pea to a tiny little person!

@Mrs Green Grass: it was TOTALLY worth it! i cried on the way home thinking about how excited i was for DH to teach her things and how happy i was to know that baby bird is a SHE!

We have our 20 week on 8/28. I had to do it a week late due to our vacation. I should have figured it out before I booked our vacation especially since we're only visiting family.

We don't have our anatomy scan scheduled yet - we'll schedule it at our next appointment, which is next Tuesday. I would imagine it'll be sometime in the end of August, when I'll be 20 weeks.

    @birdofafeather: A girl! Yay!! Congrats!
