We spilled on Facebook, yesterday, but I feel so bad I forgot to call my college roommate first. Her husband asked me when was I going to call. He's on Facebook, she's not. Argh. I knew there would be somebody else I should have told before spilling the beans on Facebook. I was just getting afraid that I would accidentally let it out or a friend would and I wanted to do something fun since our initial announcements were anti-climatic because our families knew we were in fertility treatment.

Yay for finding out the gender!! I wont find out until the end of August/beginning of Sept., since I will be just shy of 18 weeks at my next appointment on Aug.7th.... I wonder if I can request the ultrasound before my next month appointment... ??
@birdofafeather: DH and I were team green before we were pregnant and at the very beginning. But finally being pregnant I can't stand not knowing lol I think for any future babies we will be team green.... We aren't are strong willed as we thought we would be.

@birdofafeather: congrats on the baby girl!
I don't even know when I will have my next ultrasound...my next appointment isn't till August 1. So I should have some idea in the next few weeks.
I told work on thursday and then spilled the beans on fb on Friday, so it's out there. And probably not a moment too soon bc all of a sudden I have a belly!
Hope you are all doing well!

@kayakgirl73: I feel ya. I did the same thing, and like 2 mins after I posted it a friend of mine texted me who doesnt live near me anymore asking if she missed a call from me....basically hinting why the heck didnt I tell her this in person. Oops!

I'm planning to spill on FB on Thursday after our next ultrasound...scary and exciting! Tons of people know already, but announcing on FB makes it seem really real.

@Mrs Green Grass: I subscribe to your blog, but how are you feeling with a singleton? any better?
pomelo / 5628 posts
I feel a lot better, but I've had constant thick discharge/spotting for like 3 weeks now which is kind of stressful. It's never red, but really mucusy (sorry). I think everything is ok, it's just not that comforting. I have an appt tomorrow...

Just got the call from the doctor on my toxoplasmosis test results. Results are negative! Everything is fine! Hubs and I are so incredibly relieved! This is such an enormous weight off. Thanks so much for all your kind words and well wishes!

@Mrs Green Grass: So glad you are feeling better. You've gone through a lot and I'm impressed with your strength.
@eiko2010: Yay no Toxo! Go give that kitty a hug.
I think I felt the baby move the other day. And my bump is out of control. Strangers now congratulate me.
Any more gender scans yet?

@Mrs Green Grass: good luck with your checkup tomorrow. Stay strong lady.
@eiko2010: SO GLAD to hear that great toxo scan news! @oliviaoblivia: i forget, how many weeks are you? I haven't felt anything yet.
My bump is still only really noticeable when I haven't #2'd in more than 36 hours (sorry TMI) , or after I eat a large meal.

@eiko2010: yay on the negative results! such a relief!!
we finally posted on FB today with this photo and
"lower case Vowels is set to make her appearance in January!"
and i guess i just gave away my last name. oh well!

@birdofafeather: cute photo!
@dagret: I'm 16w5d. But the bit of tummy chub that I had to start gave me a head start I think. Haven't gained any weight yet though.

@birdofafeather: So cute! My plan is to post a pic of a Football T-shirt that says "My first Chargers' tee" (or something like that, I can't quite remember) and then say something about how we're going to need it come playoff time in January. DH is a HUGE football fan and we have season tickets. I also want to mention something about how long it took vaguely to kind of reach to out to my friend who might be struggling.
If everything goes well, I'll post tomorrow at 15 weeks!

Well today I am 13wks 3d. I made the mistake of drying the last two pair of jeans that still fit some what comfy. I tried to put them on and just knew right away I would feel icky all day if I tried to squeeze in.
So I had bought a few pairs of maternity pants so when the day came I would be ready. They fit good and I think they will fit even better once belly is a lot more grown because they feel big and weird on me right now. I have a belly band thing but to be honest I felt like it was going to be really awkward and my pants would fall down.
I honestly did not think I would be in Maternity pants this soon.

@Mrs Green Grass: Hope your appointment went well - thinking of you!
@Rescuemom10: I was in maternity stuff around 14 weeks, and it was definitely sooner than I thought. I still see some bloggers who are 22-24 weeks and able to to fit into pre-pregnancy things, and while I can do that now at 16 weeks with a belly band, there is NO WAY I'll be able to do it at 22 weeks! But my weight is right on track, so I'm not too worried about it. Some women just pop sooner than others!

Appt went very well. Baby boy was moving around a ton and everything looks good so I made my FB announcement last night. It was such a relief to finally put it out there in the open!!

I think we are finding out the gender tonight...my husband is an Anesthesiologist working in labor and delivery right now, so I going to the hospital to take a sneak peek...nervous and excited!
pineapple / 12053 posts
@Mrs Green Grass: yay! what did you end up posting on FB?
@shoemama: so exciting! let us know what you see!
i bought a bunch of maternity clothes on asos the other day and i'm just waiting for the shipment. i went a little crazy, but since it's free shipping both ways, i figured it was okay to spend a lot so i could try it on! they had a 10% off code too, so hopefully i'll find a pair of pants i can wear at weddings and a pair of jeans at least. they have a lot of cute, affordable stuff! i've been getting by with the hair tie (i gave up on the belly band for now because it was rolling up and annoying me) but for shooting weddings, it just doesn't work for me.

Just wanted to let you all know that kohls has some maternity stuff on super-clearance. I got a tank top, 2 pairs of shorts and a pair of jeans for less than $40 today.
pomelo / 5628 posts
@dagret: Awesome!
I just bought a bunch of stuff online from Motherhood. I found a $20 off coupon and everything was pretty reasonable. GAP also had some clearance tanks and stuff that were cheap.
I'm really looking for long flowy shirts. I'm planning to live in leggings, boots, and those type of shirts for the Fall. If anyone sees any, let me know!
@BirdofaFeather: I posted a pic of the really big bear they sell at Costco with a baby Chargers Jersey and said something about how long we had been trying and how we will be welcoming a new Chargers fan in January. It was such a relief to finally put it out in the open!

Has anyone been feeling the baby yet?
I'm sitting here at my desk experiencing these wild sensations -- rumbling, like bubbles. It's not like anything I've felt before -- I'm wondering if it might be the baby moving! Holy Moly!
honeydew / 7504 posts
@Jumpingjacks: I thought I felt something the other night, but I think it must've been my cat sitting on my lap. She twitches sometimes in her sleep.
I know they say the 2nd trimester is supposed to be the "golden trimester" but I gotta say, it's not for me. I felt WAY better during the 1st. Lately I've felt really crappy (I got a terrible cold last week that is still lingering). I'm exhausted, stuffy, and everything just hurts - my back, my hips, my head. Not to mention that I really popped in the last week, and my belly just feels huge - I can't imagine how it's going to get any bigger! Anyone else feeling worse this trimester than the 1st?
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@eiko2010: I've had more headaches (combination due to the increased nasal stuffiness, and crazy weather barometric-pressure induced headaches) but I actually have an appetite and my energy's back to normal. getting to sleep is a bit trickier, but once I fall asleep i am OUT. in 1st tri i felt like i never actually slept at night.
apricot / 426 posts
I don't feel worse (ie: no more morning sickness...thank goodness), but I also feel stuffed up, very sore hip, hard to sleep through night and I feel heavy in general because of the growing bump. Last week I could still hide it, but I had a growth spurt over the weekend and now feel big. My belly is starting to hang over my lap when I sit! I'm finding pre-natal yoga to help with the achiness and hip.

@Jumpingjacks: So exciting that you are feeling movement!!
This is my second so I've felt rumblings in there since 12 weeks but no powerful kicks yet.
I feel a lot better than the 1st trimester! I am finally getting back into a gym routine and I am so happy about that.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Jumpingjacks: I feel bubbles and little taps. I'm pretty sure it's the baby, but I'm looking forward to feeling real kicks.
My belly is definitely out there, strangers have been bringing it up which feels good. I look more baby and less burrito. I'm on vacation with my family right now and its so nice to have a visible indication of the babe. My mom keeps talking about how next summer we'll have a baby with us at the beach and I get teary. I'm soooo excited to meet this little person.
In yucky news....my female relatives have been reminiscing about their 9lb.+ babies. Out of 14 babies only one was born below 9 lbs. and she was two weeks early and weighed 8lb.10oz. I'm in for a big baby. Ouch!
@eiko2010: I wish you were feeling better.
clementine / 750 posts
@oliviaoblivia: I'm afraid I'm in for a big baby as well. I weighed 9 pounds 12 oz., my sister was 8 pounds 11oz and my sister's two were 8 pounds 14oz and 9 pounds 10oz. and my doc said it runs on the female side.
I don't think I've felt anything for sure yet, some odd sensations, no idea if the baby or not. I'm 17 weeks.
Pretty much fully in Maternity clothes now.
We announced on Face book a little over a week ago. We used two pairs of adult gloves and baby mittens borrowed from the neighbors for a picture and said something like another pair joins our collection in January as we welcome our bundle of joy.
pineapple / 12053 posts
@kayakgirl73: that's so cute! i love it! even though i'm due in january, we don't get close to wearing mittens in SD.
i don't think i've felt anything, but i don't know that i'm in tune with it really! @Andrea: it must be so interesting knowing more about what is happening the 2nd time around!
these pregnancy hormones are no joke. for the third time this week, i started tearing up listening to the radio when "there goes my life" came on and it's all about a dad and his daughter. i tear up at most thoughts about our future child, so i'm not surprised that you did too @oliviaoblivia!
pomelo / 5628 posts
@oliviaoblivia: That is so big!! My sister's baby was halfway between her birthweight and her husband's at 7lb7oz. I was 7 1/2 and my husband was 8 12, so I am so hoping to stay around 8!! I'm on the petite side...only 5'4.
@birdofafeather: I cry at EVERYTHING too. The Olympics. Commercials. DH has started laughing about it.
For those of you whose belly's have just grown; for me - it was really uncomfortable for about a week, then it got much better.
I'm so stuffy that my husband and I are mostly sleeping in different beds : (. My back is also starting to hurt really bad. I really need to buy a body pillow.
