@smith: beautiful ultrasound photo!!! We just had our 12 week ultrasound last week and it was such an amazing day

I'm getting antsy for our 12 week check up (next wednesday) and am disappointed it doesn't include an US. Just doppler. But that's better than nothing!

Hi all,
I took a little break after getting the news last week that I was a carrier for SMA. It freaked me out so bad being a pediatric nurse especially, so I just needed to mentally check out while awaiting my husband's results. We were told his results would take 7-10 days, but they were able to get them from the lab within 48 hours. We found out on Friday that he is NOT a carrier... thank God!
I'm 12 weeks tomorrow.. I have an ultrasound (not a nuchal translucensy) next Monday mainly because I have a bad cyst, but I'm super excited that I'll get to see my little munchkin
I'm going to catch up on everyone's posts now!

@kristinleigh: that is wonderful news! So awesome that the lab worked quickly this time Hope your ultrasound goes well and you get some great baby viewing time!

@mdf106: I can't believe it either! I figured a couple more weeks because I was early to feel him last time. This one is measuring big and I guess is super active like his big brother!

@travellingbee: I bet it's also one of the few benefits to being backed up. There's simply less room in there!

@kristinleigh: WHEW. What a relief! Early testing can be a blessing and a curse ... I'm so glad it all worked out well for you. Now time to enjoy next Monday's ultrasound and see that baby in action!

@mdf106: we will be in Milwaukee mostly, but also spending a day in Chicago, Adrian MI, and Columbus OH. Good point about the humidity, I kinda forgot about that! AZ spoiled me in that sense
@sera_87: Thanks! My normal handwriting is poor, so I have to admit I thoroughly enjoy my whiteboard handwriting!
@travellingbee: congrats on the baby movement! Sometimes I have twinges/pangs of what I would call cervical pain (down low), and I often wonder if that means the baby is kicking but I just can't "feel" it yet....

Posted here, anyone else feeling this?

@DesertDreams88: I get lightening crotch rather often, but it's not extreme pain (just slight discomfort) and it never really lasts too long (just a second or two).
Possibly TMI, but it's especially bad if I'm aroused. So I figure it could have something to do with increased blood flow to that area.

I had a good appointment. No ultrasound, but we heard the heartbeat on the doppler.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@mdf106: love hearing that!
@DesertDreams88: I had that at the end of my last pregnancy but not yet. I've been feeling lots more movement now. Little thumps and taps. I wonder if it's because he's measuring big? I'm pretty petite so that might so be a factor.

@LalaLove: welcome!
I'm 12 weeks today. I'm really itching to tell more people, but we're waiting until after next week's appointment. Ugh

@DesertDreams88: cute announcement pic!
So I told my boss a couple weeks ago and I think she has told more people than I have. I've only told 4-5 people, but 10 or so people have said "Congrats!, J told me you were pregnant." Does that seem weird to anyone else? It's not like she was super excited about it for me or anything.

@mrs.shinerbock: That is one of the things that I fear and why I'm waiting so long to tell my boss.
My office is SUCH a gossip mill. And there are annoying/inappropriate people that I don't want to have to deal with for as long as possible!

@kristinleigh: Yay! so happy for you, here's to a stress free remainder of your pregnancy.

@mrs.shinerbock: yes it's weird and unprofessional! Grrr....
@LalaLove: welcome! I've got a boy due the 4th!

@travellingbee: I'm like 75% sure I can feel baby move too. But it's very faint and inconsistent so I'm not declaring anything definite yet

I am filled with so many intense emotions this time around but I am truly hoping for the best. It's very noticeable now so I feel like I really need to celebrate this pregnancy more. I am overjoyed to be pregnant again. We've been trying for over a year so I still can't believe I am able to have another one!
Location: North Texas
EDD: January 13, 2016
How far along: 12 weeks and a few days
First child? No, 2nd child, I have a 2 year old DD
First doctor appointment: Had a great visit at 8 weeks with a strong heartbeat. It looked like a gummybear.
Any symptoms so far? So sleepy, tired, intense emotional outbursts (moody), and some nausea but nothing severe.
Who have you told? Friends and family

Welcome, @KimberlyBee:!
Downside right now: For some reason my nausea has been WORSE this whole week, even though I'm 11 weeks.... Seriously just had to get french fries for dinner because I'm pretty sure that's the only thing that will stay down.
Upside right now: I told my work boss today, she was encouraging, and my school schedule next year should be conducive to pumping. Also, we're telling the last of our friends and family on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday!

@DesertDreams88: Last pregnancy I kept feeling worse until 13-14 weeks, then it started to get better.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@DesertDreams88: fun to get to tell everyone! We're telling some family on our trip back east next week. I'm feeling worse too. I felt pretty terrible until 20 weeks with DS but this is worse so far.

@Kimberlybee: welcome!! DH and I were trying for more than a year too. It's only starting to sink in that I'm not only pregnant, but we're going to have a BABY!
So, my pants that were too big a week ago are being held up with a hair tie today. But I'm blaming constipation. Ugh. I wish vegetables tasted better!!!
cherry / 220 posts
Ugh, still feeling crappy here too, at 12 weeks. It is actually changes on a daily basis, but today is horrible. Not only is it the nausea, but I am also getting some light-headedness. I've told my husband countless time now that I am never doing this again.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Kimberlybee: welcome! And congrats! It's so hard to believe when it finally happens. You must be trilled. We'd been dealings with infertility and miscarriages and were just about to start IVF when this one worked!!

@travellingbee: Thank you! I am thrilled, relieved, overjoyed, but fear keeps creeping it's way in too. We seeked help with DD and worked with a wonderful RE team a few years ago. This time around, I just didn't have the time for all those dr appointments while taking care of a toddler too. I am so excited to be pregnant again! Congratulations to you too!

@sera_87: Thanks for keeping up with the list! Cheers to a happy and healthy pregnancy to everyone.

Hi all, haven't checked in for a couple weeks. Wanted to update you that baby is a BOY! I come from a family of all girls, I have a daughter and my sister has two daughters. So a boy will be totally new and exciting for our family. Hope everyone is feeling well. I am still nauseous 24/7 and hoping it gets better soon. I'm 14 weeks today.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Worrywart: I'm still nauseous 24/7 too exciting about a boy! Yay!!
pomelo / 5129 posts
@Worrywart: How exciting! Are all the babies that people know the sex of so far boys? I'm hoping for a girl, so hoping y'all are increasing our odds
Is anyone else not getting an NT scan? It's optional with my doctor and I have to ask for it and set it up with another clinic if I want it, and that seems like a lot of hassle. But at the same time, I'd love to see the baby again before the anatomy scan at the end of August!
I'm getting more and more anxious for my appointment wednesday. I barely slept last night and am guessing it was anxiety (though I'd like to blame DH's snoring!)
But exciting news for us. I convinced DH to go mattress shopping with me yesterday and our new bed will be delivered on Wednesday too! Big day for us! We'll finally be in a much deserved king!
