Sounds like we have some bumps popping up around here ... anybody interested in doing a separate bump thread? I've always loved following them on other month boards!
apricot / 369 posts
@smith: oohh sounds like fun! Right now my bump is more bloat than real bump - it changes drastically in size throughout the day! I can't wait to have a real bump

@smith: I think my fat is just being accentuated
I found out at my SCH that my uterus was anteverted, so I think it's forcing fat up higher. I thought it was bloat at first (I'm WAY bumpier in the evening), but I've only gained .5 lb so I think stuff on my body is just moving around.
But I'd be up for a bump thread. I'm too self conscious to share on FB so it might be nice to do it here instead.

@MaryM: By announce at work I mean mention my pregnancy to a few key people and let them know they can spread the word. Nobody at my work has done a big announcement. I am also not a fan of tight maternity clothes, which makes sense, because I am not a fan of tight clothes in my every day life. More flowy maternity clothes should look better as the pregnancy progresses. I also have some dresses which are neither super tight nor super flowy that I like.

@lauren0817: I had my NT scan this morning too. We already had a blood test done and are waiting on the results. (It's not harmony but something similar)
She said everything looked perfect and gushed about how beautiful the baby was. (LOL, looked like an alien to me but I'll take it) All parts were there: brain parts, stomach parts, all toes and fingers, even tiny kidneys. HR was 171. Then she asked me if I wanted her opinion on gender and I said yes. She said it looked all girl. Then, later she said, "Oh no. I see boy parts" Then she sighed and said, "I can't tell." Nub was girly but then when he/she started moving around it looked boyish. Was really hard to tell. It was clearly driving her crazy that she couldn't tell. LOL What a tease. Here's my little perfect babe:

@travellingbee: OMG, I love it! It's so amazing what they can see in these ultrasounds. Such good news!

@MaryM: Ugh I wish I only gained a few pounds. I must be eating 4,000 calories a day right now! It's the only way to keep me from throwing up. I haven't been liking the full panels right now because they feel tight on my stomach and my abdomen is a bit sore. I have been liking the loose stuff as well.

I ended up just buying pants one size up. My work pants have a bit of stretch in them anyway, but my regular ones were getting tight by my evening commute. Now I feel like I'm constantly hiking my pants up, but at least I can sit comfortably!
pomelo / 5129 posts
Hah! I guess buying bigger pants was a good idea. My annoying/nosey coworker just asked if I was losing weight. lol

Could whoever made the due date list please remove me?
I should be 9.5 weeks today, but we found out the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks.
Best of luck to you ladies!

@mdf106: That's how I announce at work, too. I have two loudmouth coworkers who already know and can't wait to tell everyone once I give them the ok. I'm just going to set them free.
Everyone's ultrasounds are making me excited to get mine Tuesday! I'm a little nervous, too, but I'm hopping a good US will put me at ease. I'll only be 11 weeks, but if that looks good I'm just going to stop trying to hide my, ahem, "bump" (it's all bloat). If people want to ask after that, I'll just tell them.

@Zbug: I'm so sorry. Take good care of yourself, time and ice cream will help you move on. And maybe a spa day. You'll get there.

Checking in for the first time.
Location: Ontario Canada
EDD: Jan 25th
How far along: 9.5-10weeks, the tech wasn't definitive.
First child? Nope! This will be my third. All January babies. DD1 is 2.5, DD2 is almost 6 months.
First doctor appointment: had one on Tuesday to confirm that it was safe for me to carry this one and an US this morning for dating.
Any symptoms so far? Some very mild nausea. Nothing really compared to my first two pregnancies.
Who have you told? My sisters, DH, HB. We're seeing my parents next week so I'll tell them then.

@Zbug: So sorry for your loss. The same thing happened to me years ago. Sending big hugs!
@travelingbee: Yay for another boy!!!
Had my 12 week appointment today. Very strong heartbeat and all looks good. I will have the genetic testing done next week because of my "advanced maternal age (so silly!)" and should find out gender the following week!!

@Worrywart: yay! Glad to hear all was well. @oliviaoblivia: Very exciting! Interesting that they are all Jan babies!

@oliviaoblivia: Hi!!!! Fun to have another Jan 2013 mama here with me! And congrats!
ETA: @blondie516: Congrats and welcome! Same EDD for me! So far, anyway. First appointment today, first ultrasound next week.

@littlebug: glad to be here with you again! D is going to make such a great big brother!
@travellingbee: DD2 came in late Dec., but was due in January. Close enough I think. Close enough that I get to reuse my maternity wardrobe.
@mrs.shinerbock: thanks!
@sera_87: thanks! You're still on mat leave from #2 right? What are your plans for this one? I'm terrified to tell my boss.
@blondie516: welcome and congrats! My second daughter was born Dec. 29, 2014. So I'll be with you in having some close kiddos.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
@oliviaoblivia: yep until middle of August. I'm not going back to work though, I'm going to school full time, so no boss to tell, thank goodness. And I'll work something out with the university/my profs for the first bit (I've already arranged my schedule to be fairly light) and then SO will take the rest of the parental/paternity leave.
But I also live in Quebec, which qualifies me for mat leave starting at 24 weeks, and they can extend the qualifying period back another 52 weeks without going back to work first, so technically you could have babies 2 years in a row and still get full leave. Ontario you need to accumulate 600 hours between pregnancies no matter what (which works out to roughly 26weeks full time). Anyways. I hope it goes well with your boss!

Had my 12wk appointment today and they're referring me to high risk. Good, because the next words out of the docs mouth were "have you thought about terminating?"
Yeah, eff you, I never want to see you again, thanks. *spitting mad face here*
pomegranate / 3604 posts
@travellingbee: because of the clot & that makes me high risk. I just. I'm just really mad.
