@Smurfette: I'm due Jan 30th! Both of my babies will be end of the month-ers! (although, this one very well could be a February baby)
@Chillybear: love the big girl room! I need to start tackling this project for my daughter this summer!
@sunnyday: I'm only 14 weeks, but I'm totally tempted to try that app!

@sunnyday: If that app was free I'd be super tempted to try it!!! I went and read a lot of reviews on it though and most did say it didn't work till at least the third tri. It seems like the mic just amplifies sounds heard through the belly so basically it wouldn't work until the point you could hear the heartbeat with a plain old stethoscope.

Loving the updates!
BIG NEWS this week…against all odds, my mom is cancer free!!! Still lots of appointments and weekly check ins but treatment is winding down. Her dream was to see me become a mom, and the fact that she gets to see it happen - so worth every moment of fear being pregnant with her being sick. YAY!
Bye-bye treatment mode, hellllo baby prep mode

@afishermanswife: that's wonderful news! Congrats to your mom and I hope she never has to deal with the big "C" again.

I just had my first appt with the midwife group I switched to and my due date was pushed up 3 days. She reviewed the two scans I've had so far and said it actually looks like I'm dating 6 days ahead of where I thought but she'd be comfortable doing 3 days. I just told her I really didn't want to be considered 42 weeks before I actually was. So new due date is Jan. 22nd.
I really liked the midwife I saw today. Heard baby, heartbeat was good. She didn't find it right away and I pointed out the spot that I think baby usually hangs out in - I often feel a hard lump there - and then she found it immediately! So that was fun.
I do have a yeast infection though. Which is not so fun.

@IRunForFun: Glad that you liked the midwife. Yuck on the infection.

@IRunForFun: Hey, three less days of pregnancy!
Guys, my morning sickness came back. I've been throwing up again....I didn't know that was a thing that could happen! WTF?!?

@babypugs: Ugh!! So sorry! I still don't feel great either. My co-worker said she was sick till 20 weeks last time, so I'm hoping I'll feel better in TWO weeks. Otherwise I'm pretty sure I'll feel this way the whole time. DH was like, noooo!

@snowjewelz: Oh gosh, I'm sorry that you're still sick! I couldn't imagine being queasy the whole pregnancy, yuck! Fingers crossed that we'll both feel magically better over the weekend.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!
The good things just kept rolling this week, we finally bought a house! An amazing house that is way more than I thought we would end up with Then 24 hours later I officially felt baby move, and he or she hasn't really stopped since. Everything is coming together and it is SO exciting!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

@snowjewelz: Oh no! Sorry you're still sick! I hope it ends soon.
@afishermanswife: Yay, congrats on the house! We just bought a house as well. We're so excited!
So, I *think* I may have felt the baby move over the weekend (I'm 16 weeks.) I was at a birth (as a doula) and was washing my hands leaning against the hospital sink, the edge of which pressed right into my belly at the height my uterus seems to be. I felt this sudden squirmy/wriggly sensation right where my belly was being squished. I'm not really sure what else it could have been? A few times since then I've thought maybe I felt a little twitch or poke but nothing definitive. I hope if it was baby I feel more soon!

@snowjewelz: Yes! I love it! Especially when someone has a great birth (whatever that means to them) which this couple really did. It's pretty awesome to get to see it all before I do it.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@snowjewelz: I will! I haven't decided on one yet though. I have a network of doulas, some of whom I'm closer friends with and others who I feel have the sort of vibe I'm looking for, so it's hard for me to decide!

@IRunForFun: that's so cool! we had a doula with our first, and we are definitely working with her again this go around!

@madger: That's awesome!!! Glad you had a good doula experience. I swear it's the best job because you get to be at the birth start to finish without doing any of the medical stuff. And doulas love repeat clients!

@IRunForFun: I'm sure it's hard b/c you know what you want but then there are so many choices lol!
pomelo / 5509 posts
@snowjewelz: Yeah, that and I don't want to offend any of my friends if I don't ask them to be there, ya know? And they're all great doulas but there's actually one doula who has been doing it for 20+ years and she is just soooo calming and knowledgeable...so I am thinking of asking her.

@afishermanswife: super exciting on both accounts.
@IRunForFun: sounds like movement to me.

I had my 15 week appointment today and we scheduled my anatomy scan. Sept 19th is SO FAR away!!! we passed on additional testing, so I haven't seen this nugget since 7 weeks, I'm getting anxious!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
I feel better after my appointment today. I haven't felt any flutters in like a week but they found her right away on the doppler. Antany scan next Friday at the perinatologist. DH and I took the day off work and are going to go to lunch and a movie after for a day date while LO is at school.

@madger: Did you get to at least hear baby on the Doppler today? I was surprised when at my last appointment they scheduled my anatomy scan for when I'll only be 17+4. It seems early! But they wanted to have the results before my next prenatal at 19 weeks I guess? Anyway so my scan is a week from Thurs.
@Smurfette: I can't remember, do you have an anterior placenta?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: they said that it was looking that way at my 13 week ultrasound but said it could move still. So I was surprised when I felt some flutters around 15 weeks. I wasn't expecting it till later. I will feel better when I start feeling kick regularly. It was 20-21 weeks with LO before that happened. Then 24 weeks before DH felt her.
cherry / 178 posts
@IRunForFun: yep! I got to hear the heartbeat at each appointment! our doctor won't schedule the anatomy scan any earlier than 20 weeks, I tried to get in a few days before (my husband is traveling the week I'm actually 20 weeks, so we actually have to wait until I'm 21 weeks), but no dice!
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: I thought I remembered you saying that when I mentioned they said mine was anterior at my NT scan. Was just curious after thinking I felt a little something a few days ago (16 weeks) but nothing again since.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@madger: Same here I tried to schedule my anatomy scan for 19+4 and they called me back to reschedule now i'm not going until 21+1.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@madger: @Chillybear: Booo. I have no clue why they scheduled mine so early?? Now I'm a little nervous that I'll get in there and they'll double check and tell me to go home and come back in 2 weeks. The midwife told them when to schedule though, so who knows!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: the doctor told me today it is normal to feel flutters and then not for a week at this stage. But that doesn't help me worry less!
@madger: that happened to me with my 1st. DH was traveling so we had to reschedule for a week later. I was so annoyed.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Well, that's good to know. Of course the time I thought I felt movement was when my belly was squished against a sink so now I keep squishing my belly hoping to recreate it. I should probably stop doing that. Haha.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: oh I was pressing my belly in so much yesterday trying to feel something. DH hates it when I do it. He says leave my baby alone. ha
