Iron infusions done! Two horrid attempts at a cannula but it's all finished now.. hoping for that nice boost of energy in the next few days, haha!

Was on the delivery ward while having it done and OMG new baby cries. I can't wait!!!!

@jaguar: Yay, hope you feel better soon!

Eek about the baby cries! I *can't wait* to hold baby girl. At the same time, my house is completely torn up, we essentially have no furniture (and need the house to not be torn up to get any....), we haven't even discussed names, and let's not even mention work over the next two months....

Anybody working on a nursery? With DS, we lived in a tiny 1BR condo and he just roomed with us, with the crib at the foot of our bed. Baby girl will be acquiring DS's crib and glider - so no need for any substantial purchase - but I am really itching to do some nursery decorating. Right now though her room has 1.5 walls torn down to the studs to add a closet for her room and linen closet in the hallway (old house, had virtually no closets), the wood floors under carpeting won't be refinished until last step of the reno, and the contractor is storing a bathtub and a bunch of lumber in there. I doubt it will be done before she's born, and then I know there's no way I'll have the energy to decorate...Not that I have the time or energy now either, I think it's just the nesting urge

DS3 has no nursery, poor kid haha!

My two girls currently share a room in a bunk bed, their old nursery is currently their play room. And since we tend to room/bed share, we currently have no plans for even a crib for DS3. If somehow he hates co-sleeping or is a rockstar sleeper (one can dream), I'll probably just put in in a pack n play either in my room or their play room and call it a day.

@periwinklebee: I feel you on the nesting urge. We have to convert our joint office (tear) into the nursery. Which means I need to declutter and reorganize the basement before we start moving the office down there. Most of the mess is totes and totes of baby clothes I need to consolidate and store. These were my DD's and will not be needed for DS! One day at time is what I keep telling myself. Otherwise it is all way too overwhelming.

Is it normal that I am counting down the days until I don't have to go back to work? I am excited for leave but not sure if its just because I am pregnant or if its the job that I am starting to dislike. I'd love to take a year off but seems too risky to me (I have 4 months of leave planned).

I think we have a baby name done! :o

And HA... I am trying to clear out hubby's man cave so that we can make it into the baby's room, but apart from a rocking chair I got on sale, the kid has nothing but clothes and a bassinet in my room so far!

@jaguar: I hope you feel better ASAP! Glad it’s done! Is her name a secret until birth?

@periwinklebee: @honey786: I have the nesting urge too ladies! We own a duplex, and our tenants are in the process of moving out. Once they move, we are taking over the entire house and gaining 3 extra bedrooms (we currently only have 2). I have to wait for all this to happen before I can start a nursery 🙄 but I do have two cribs, and a Halo twin bassinet, so at least they have somewhere to sleep.

As far as decorating goes, I think I’m going with a baby animal theme, and I’m just going to buy 3-4 simple prints! I also want a new rug for their room, but no big plans other than that.

I feel like my nesting urges aren't as strong. But I also am constantly cleaning/organizing so nesting is pretty much my life whether I'm pregnant or not hah!

I first have to transition all the girls clothes - give away small sizes, swap summer out for fall/winter, then somehow make room somewhere for baby brother's stuff!

    @jaguar: yay on the name!!!

Guess I am not the only one with an unfulfilled nesting urge! I’m dying to wash and sort the newborn clothes, mostly so I can feel sappy about how cute and sweet ds looked in them, but not much of a point til we can get a dresser. I feel like maybe in part i just want to do something to make it feel more real that there’s another baby coming.... but thankfully there’s not really that much to do to be prepared and I’m just impatient....

@Jessiemuller88: awesome about expanding into the other duplex! And love the nursery idea...I love simple!

@periwinklebee: thanks! I’m super excited to have more space. We probably won’t renovate for a year or so, but it already flows pretty well without much work. We have an old house like you, it’s 100 this year, so we want to wait until we can do it exactly like we want!

I failed my 1 hour glucose test 😩 my doctor hasn’t called, but I read my results online. My level was 169 and the cutoff is 139. I’m pretty bummed and guessing I’ll have to do the 3 hour test sometime next week.

  14. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

    @jaguar: gorgeous!

@Jessiemuller88: ugh, so sorry to hear about the test. Hope the 3 hours goes better... That's awesome that the duplex will be pretty straightforward to renovate when you get ready to do it. I love old houses, so much character before mass production took over! My husband initially wanted new construction, but it barely exists in our area and old houses tend to be the most convenient locations, so thankfully I was able to talk him into one!

@Jessiemuller88: Hugs! If it makes you feel any better, we don't even DO the 1 hour test here. They make you go straight to the more intense test, because too many people were getting inaccurate readings from the simpler one. x

@periwinklebee: @jaguar: thanks ladies. I’m trying to not stress or feel guilty about it because I try my best to eat healthy and stay active. Hopefully I pass the 3 hour!

Ok ladies, red blotchy slightly swollen feet? Normal swelling? With my son I had swelling but no color change.

  18. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

@Sams Mom: are they still red and swollen? I’d probably call your doctor. I never had swelling with DS, so no personal frame of reference.

I’m super upset with my OB’s office. I went in last Tuesday (7days ago) for my glucose and while there, I mentioned my urine smelled strong and that I thought I might have a UTI. Since then my frequent urination has really increased and I have a lot of lower abdominal pain/pressure. I saw my glucose results online last Friday but my urine sample was pending.

They never called me! I had to call this morning and ask for my results!! The nurse said I do have a UTI and need immediate antibiotics and I did fail my glucose and need to come in tomorrow for 3 hour test. I’m just pissed it took them a week to call me when I have an infection and possibly gestational diabetes.

@Jessiemuller88: some swelling with Sam but no red blotchy; I see my doctor in about an hour.

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Jessiemuller88: I would be pissed too! Urine results are usually posted almost immediately, and failing the glucose test should have been addressed immediately. Uggghhhhh

    Hopefully everything is ok

@Jessiemuller88: I'd be requesting WAY speedier contact in future. That is not good!!!

@Sams Mom: Did it settle hun, are you ok?

@Sams Mom: @jaguar: I nicely expressed my frustration when I went in today for the 3 hour glucose. Hopefully it will improve in the future. FX I pass!!

@Jessiemuller88: Hope you're feeling ok after the 3 hour... I ate like a PIG after mine with the first two girls, haha.

    grape / 81 posts

    @Jessiemuller88: fingers crossed for you!!

This is going to sound like a weird question, but the baby doesn't do normal kicks or jabs here and there, I feel like sometimes my whole stomach is shaking (probably a little exaggerated). Has anyone else experienced that? Should I be concerned? It is not something I experienced the first time around!

  26. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

@jaguar: I was definitely super hungry! I ate a foot long sandwich afterwards and woke up at 2 am starving 🤣

@honey786: my babies have weird movement like you are describing too. I kind of think it’s because mine both have anterior placentas though. The only kicks I really feel are super low, like c-section scar low. I’m afraid they are going to fall out!!

  27. honey786

    grape / 81 posts

@Jessiemuller88: Wow! I have an anterior placenta this time around too. And have also felt the kicks SUPER LOW. I wonder if that is what is making it different feeling. Thanks so much for sharing!!

  28. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@jaguar: my doctor told me my shoes sucked for pregnancy (ballet flats), to keep an eye on them, and thank God it's getting colder instead of hotter. He then showed me his one step up from Crocks clogs, and I told him if my big ass still fit in scrubs I'd be wearing tennis shoes... But I don't.

  29. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

I get weird movements too - also anterior placenta. It's pretty tricky to figure out what is making what movement, which body part etc.

  30. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

@Sams Mom: glad he wasn’t too concerned! I only wear tennis shoes these days.

Y’all I’m already the size I was full term with DS. None of my maternity clothes fit anymore 😩

  31. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

Oh and I passed the 3 hour!!! I’m so relieved!

  32. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Jessiemuller88: he told me with my last pregnancy that it's probably best I don't have summer babies. 😂 I started wearing tennis shoes with my business casual clothes because I dare someone to say something at this point.

As to maternity clothes, how are babies measuring? On size with Singletons individually or smaller? A girl in my Facebook due date group is pregnant with triplets for her first babies, and all three were measuring on track for Singletons at her 20 week ultrasound 😱.

Glad you passed the 3 hour!

  33. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

@Sams Mom: 🤣 your doctor sounds hilarious! I haven’t had an ultrasound in 3 weeks, but last time they were measuring a few days ahead for singletons! My doctor is convinced they will be 6-7 pounders. My son was 8lbs at 39 weeks, so we will see!

  34. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

    @Jessiemuller88: Yay for passing!!!!

@Jessiemuller88: @honey786: I had anterior placenta last time but don't this time. Both times movements have been super low. With DS, he had both his feet and both his hands in front of his face, rather than being in a traditional fetal position, hence all the super low movements. I'm pretty sure baby girl is head down because of the discomfort down there, but all kicks are also super low, so maybe she's in the same weird position. I do swear I'm feeling way more pressure in my lower abdomen than I did at this point with DS. Probably because all of my abdominal cavity muscles are so floppy and stretched this time around that nothing is providing support 😂

  35. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

@honey786: @periwinklebee: it’s so nice to know other people have experienced the same thing! That’s why I love HB so much!!

@periwinklebee: omg I feel so much pressure and discomfort in my lower abdomen too. So much that I have to constantly sit down at work. I’m wondering if it’s round ligament pain. Did you have to have a c-section with DS or did he eventually go head down?

  36. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@Jessiemuller88: I honestly feel like my lower belly could be like a balloon that just rips open under the pressure of the baby, though I know that it doesn't work that way! I'm sure the pressure with two in there is much worse, ugh... late pregnancy is such a weird time in life - it's super uncomfortable but also really freakin cool on some level to have this little person constantly squirming around in you. I love being able to take her everywhere with me!

No c-section fortunately, hoping to avoid that again, the risks of it with low platelets kind of freak me out and I would have to be put completely under.

On another note, in the past day I've gotten too many comments that somehow relate to my physical appearance, all by old men. i.e. one guy who pointed at my bump and said "well now it is obviously wayyyy past the point where you have to wonder if it's appropriate to say anything", followed by another person chiming in with a "you must be due any day" type comment. And a third person asking "are you still allowed to fly?". Why can't people just say "congrats" or "when are you due" and resist the urge to make commentary on how hugely pregnant I look 😂 In the realm of small victories, I got out my winter coat and it still zips, though barely!

@Jessiemuller88: TWO BABIES WOMAN. You're growing them like a superstar. Yay for the 3 hour pass. Knew it! xxx

@periwinklebee: I'm feeling all weird and pressurey down low already (way earlier than the last pregnancies). Oh and I HEAR YOU. I got told I was obviously having twins by a random guy in a grocery store the other day. Nope... just giant belly. Thanks though!

@periwinklebee: @jaguar: all I can say is that people SUCK. I will never understand why they must comment. Ugh- I have been getting gasps when I tell people I have 10 weeks to go 🙄
