@Jessiemuller88: i used Rock Tape brand while pregnant because that's what my friend had, but I'm sure lots of them work.

@Sams Mom: this is so cool. Thanks for the tip! I’m going to order some.

@graceandjoy: I've been trying to focus on the things I can enjoy with a winter baby, to make the most of being trapped inside. I have a fireplace now for the first time in my life, got the firewood delivered, and figured out how to build a fire with help from some website called the art of manliness I got a new throw blanket for the couch that I love. I want to get a new tea mug and some herbal teas, and desperately need a new cozy robe... My biggest concern is definitely DS. Right now he is such a joy - like any toddler his behavior is not perfect, but the times I spend with him bring me so, so much joy, he's so much fun and such a sweetie. I know he'll ultimately adjust to his sister, but he's also a major mama's boy and not used to sharing me. I anticipate there being lots of "all done baby", "let go baby", "bye bye baby" associated with some jealousy, and ultimately I just hope with all the newborn sleep deprivation that I can be patient and not too overwhelmed to do a good job of guiding him through the transition...
@Jessiemuller88: You look amazing!!! I think one day at a time is definitely the best approach. And being super kind to yourself...I feel like I'm barely coping with being pregnant with one, you are a total rock star!
The peanut gallery of comments continue. In the grand scheme innocuous but still mildly annoying - like the middle aged guy who pointed to my belly today and said "I can tell from looking at you that your due date must be really soon." Ugh, which led me to fantasize that HR would add a unit to their mandatory workplace conduct training about how it's never professional to comment on a colleague's physical appearance, even if that colleague is pregnant and you mean well. I also had someone ask today if I'd had the baby already, which I found bizarre, but whatever...

Hey beautiful mamas
Sorry for going quiet. Time is kinda getting away from me! 33 weeks and just wishing the next month away, to be honest. Christmas and the lead up is just exhausting at the best of times, and I feel enormous. (And I just have ONE baby in there, I can't imagine you with twins J)
Baby is tracking with a giant head measurement -joy- and I'm slightly terrified of having another massive baby. OB doesn't want me going past 39 weeks so I'm hoping we can pop this baby out sometime after Christmas. We'll see I guess. I just feel enormous.

@periwinklebee: I totally feel you. DD1 was only 2 when DD2 was born so I felt bad that she was thrust into big sisterhood so young! And I've def caught myself this past year when DD2 was 2-3, that I don't remember DD1 at this age I always just try to tell myself that so many kids have siblings and it all turns out okay so we will too
Yes, it will be sad and yes, there is definitely an adjustment period (DD1 never not wanted baby; but she def acted out in other ways, like being a beast at bedtime for months), but once you get through that, it really is SO beautiful to see them in their new role and see their sibling relationship. I think this time, I am SO excited for both of them to be big sisters. I feel less guilt towards DD2 since she had been the baby for 3 years now!
Someone at work yesterday made the comment of "oh you must be SO happy to FINALLY have a boy:
@jaguar: Hang in there! And good that your OB is on the same page of not needing an even bigger head!
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@graceandjoy: yeah, I think it's hard when you can't really talk to them yet about it.. but I know you're right that it will also be such a beautiful thing... DS is a very affectionate kid, and I think while it will cause some acting out, he will also be super sweet and affectionate, at least sometimes, towards the baby (he is already like this towards babies at his daycare), which will totally melt my heart 🥰
@jaguar: It's great to have an end date! Saw the OB today, a new one I hadn't seen before, and when looking at my chart he mentioned "oh, you went past 41 weeks with your last baby, hopefully you will at least manage to have this one in 2019 so everything is in the same deductible year." Yes, hopefully! I am so uncomfortable already, really don't want to think about going past 41 weeks again....

Ugh, you guys, today my pants literally ripped open in multiple places just below the stretchy panel part. Thankfully still under my shirt and not noticeable, but that's the state of my belly at this point Feeling huge...

@periwinklebee: just popping in to say I got this non traditional robe a few weeks ago and love it. No tie to come undone and it has pockets.

@periwinklebee: Sympathies! I literally busted a strap of one of my summer dresses yesterday. Guess the belly strain was just too much!

This is my 1st, out of 3 pregnancies that I had to go buy underwear 1 size up But I feel so much better now, lol!
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@jaguar: gah, literally bursting at the seams. All I can hope for at this point is that there is no genuinely humiliating wardrobe malfunction at work, between the ever-expanding belly and the aging maternity clothes
I haven't had an US since 20 weeks, and won't have another unless there's cause for concern, but am starting to wonder if this baby is going to be way bigger than DS... or just the different positioning of the placenta making me more uncomfortable this time around...If I go past 41 weeks again, which I'm trying to prepare myself for mentally, that's six weeks from now. Seems like an eternity (except when I think of everything I need to get done, meh)
@graceandjoy: I bought some maternity underwear when I saw a sale this summer, best investment ever.
pear / 1565 posts
@periwinklebee: Ugh totally saw those and wanted to order, but this is for real my last pregnancy so I restrained myself haha. I really wish I got nicer stuff w/ DD2. I need to get some new nursing tanks/bras this time!

@Jessiemuller88: so my sister's babies are mono/di, but we have to wait to find out gender.

Hey all! I have been MIA because my computer crashed and I was too lazy to reset all my passwords. Got to love keychain on Macs, when it actually works!
Well, I am on the same train of feeling huge and have like 6 weeks to go. Hoping it's only 4 weeks. I really want this next month to fly, but at the same time I don't feel ready. Baby room is empty and in process of being painted. I don't have furniture for it yet - the dresser I want is on backorder and I can't decide to transition LO1 out of her crib or just use a Halo bassinet for the first few months.
I have to wash all the baby hand me down clothes and get stuff organized.
I am also super into the idea of reorganizing my whole house but never have the energy to start. Or I get overwhelmed that I have too many places I want to tackle, so I do nothing.
Got to love the crazy!! LOL

I also need to order a new breast pump... insurance makes me wait until 30 days prior to due date so that is coming up soon. I want to try the Spectra this time. I did Medela last time. I am also super tempted to use my HSA dollars to buy a Willow or Elvie wireless pump. Anyone try those?
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@honey786: I love spectra... have not tried the others. I need to look into what my insurance covers. Last time it was limited to one model, and I hated it. If it's still only that one, not going to bother. I'm feeling about like you, so ready to get this baby OUT but also so not ready...
I am having a hard time not feeling sorry for myself today - which is ridiculous because I've had a perfectly healthy, singleton pregnancy - things have gone as smoothly as they possibly could. I'm just so tired of being uncomfortable and tired (despite crashing right after LO is in bed too often)

I’m having a really hard time ladies and feeling pretty down and depressed. I had an onset of thrombosed hemorroids Monday, and they have progressed to the point where I can’t walk they are so painful. I went to the ER last night, and the doctor on staff “did what he could” to lance and relieve some of the pressure. He referred me to a specialist who I saw today. The minute he looked, he said I needed surgery immediately. He spoke to my OB, and she agreed and wants me to have a spinal for the surgery, just in case. I’m in so much pain and want relief but I’m also terrified for my babies. Sorry for the novel- I just needed to get it all off my chest. I go in at 7 tonight for surgery.

@Jessiemuller88: that is a lot! You and babies will be in my thoughts and prayers, all will go well!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@periwinklebee: I think I'll do the same as you and blame the aging 3rd time around maternity clothes, hahaha. Can you rqeuest a growth scan just because of your size/overdue history?
@honey786: I'm the same as you. I want to clean and organise MY WHOLE HOUSE but then I get overwhelmed and do nothing instead. Sigh.
@Jessiemuller88: Oh you poor thing! But you're doing the right thing sorting them out NOW because omg, imagine post babies. Please keep us posted. *hugs*
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@Jessiemuller88: I'm so sorry, that sounds utterly miserable Babies are going to be fine, and I so hope that you will have some relief soon
Such huge admirations for everything moms of multiples go through to grow their sweet babies
️
@jaguar: Definitely the aging wardrobe I think it depends on how I'm measuring. Next appointment is at 37 weeks. Last time I got a couple of scans towards the end, due to measuring small (LO was just in a weird position with both feet and both hands in front of his face, which made me measure small). If this baby is actually enormous, I'm not sure I want to know
I walked into daycare today and LO's teacher was like "OMG, you totally popped in the past day." This coincides with a significant increase in discomfort, so probably just this baby contorting herself into some weird, sticking straight out position...
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@periwinklebee: I keep getting the raised eyebrows look when I tell people I'm technically not due til January...
pear / 1565 posts
@honey786: My insurance now won't process/ship till 30 days out either, but I already put it in so it's one less thing I have to think about! I am also going to do the Spectra for the first time, after using the Medela for my last 2!
@honey786: @jaguar: I have the opposite nesting problem. I'm already border line OCD about everything to begin with, once I get into the nesting mode, I have a hard time stopping and then I usually over extend myself. I currently have new dining chairs and couch pillows coming I am like on my hands and knees scrubbing random corner of the house, and bugging the heck out of DH to do all these little projects all over the place!
@Jessiemuller88: I am so sorry! This is so hard to go through and must be so scary. I do hope you have a smooth/safe surgery and it gives you relief till the end!
@periwinklebee: Oh girl yeah some lady asked me when I'm due and after I said February, she was like wow so big
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@jaguar: hahaha And there's also the opposite, now that it's almost December, I feel like when I say "due in December" you see some people get slightly nervous that I might give birth any minute, or at a very minimum something gross is about to happen . With LO, I was interviewing a job candidate on my due date, a 20-something year old guy with presumably no knowledge of any of this, who later confessed to worrying what would happen if I suddenly went into labor.

@Jessiemuller88: Hey chick, just checking in to see how you're doing xx
clementine / 973 posts
@Sams Mom: @jaguar: @periwinklebee: @graceandjoy: hey ladies. I’m hanging in there. Surgery went well, the doctor was able to remove most of the thrombosed clots, so after I heal, I should have some relief. I spent 2 days in the hospital, and I’m finally home. Babies are doing great, and I’m taking it one day at a time. My OB has officially ordered me to stop working. Although it’s a bit of a burden financially, I’m honestly so relieved to get the next 4 weeks to rest and take it easy.
Thank you all for checking on me.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Jessiemuller88: great news! Glad everything went well, and babies are doing great! I imagine having this time to take it at your pace is quite the relief. Have you had a recent U/S to know estimated sizes?
clementine / 973 posts
@Sams Mom: thank you. It really is!! I go tomorrow for an ultrasound, so I should get some estimates then.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Jessiemuller88: you're 32/33 ish weeks right? That's exciting. I know I don't actually miss the ultrasound because that means I'm not at risk this time, but I'm a little sad I won't get to see Hazel anymore until birth likely (had 11 more after 25 weeks with Sam). I got to go to my sister's appointment the other day and babies were head to head like yours are.
clementine / 973 posts
@Sams Mom: yes, I’m 32+2! How many weeks are you now? I would be sad too! I think I had a total of 4 with Nate, so it has been exciting to have so many. They are so big and crowded that you can barely see their faces anymore though.
I absolutely LOVE the name Hazel!! I know y’all are getting so excited to have a little girl.
That’s so neat you got to go to her appointment! It’s so cute to see them together like that how far along is your sis? Is she doing ok?
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@Jessiemuller88: So glad the surgery went well and babies are doing better. That sounds horrible but glad you will be able to focus on taking care of yourself and growing those babies between now and when they arrive.
LO seems to have woken up with a stomach bug - I've been puked on six times this morning and as always with illness the timing is impecable. My parents are arriving tonight after a 2000 mile drive to visit for Thanksgiving, envisioning all of us coming down with the bug, precisely when our bathrooms are being renovated so all we have is a single tiny powder room bathroom. And I also have some work commitments tomorrow I can't really get out of, feeling a bit overwhelmed, but that's life with kids Holidays never went well with my family as a kid, it's bringing back memories of the year when my grandma had a heart attack just before Thanksgiving, we picked up some stomach bug from the hospital waiting room, and there were like 22 adults and kids in the house who spent all of Thanksgiving puking...
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Jessiemuller88: I'll be 26 weeks on Tuesday. I think my doctor will do one more growth scan at the end, maybe. We settled on Hazel Kennedy I think finally , my husband keeps going back and forth on Kennedy, but always goes back to it.
She is 14+4 I think, just found out there mono/di, so she has to go to an MFM for an additional advanced ultrasound to see how big the placenta is and some other factors. So we know they're identical, just not what yet. (I only got to go because her fiance killed a deer when he knew she had an appointment, and had to track it. He will never hear the end of it)
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Jessiemuller88: Phew!!! So glad you're ok. Been thinking of you and those babes!
@periwinklebee: Oh no! I hope you don't catch the germs too! :o
@Sams Mom: Hazel Kennedy is such a beautiful name!
pear / 1565 posts
@Jessiemuller88: So glad things went well and babies are good! Hopefully that will give you relief through labor/birth and beyond!
@Sams Mom: Aww I think it's a beautiful name!
@periwinklebee: Uggh I am so sorry! I am hearing a lot about a super stomach bug going around. I hope it gets out of his system fast and you guys don't catch it!
So I haven't said anything to anyone IRL, but I *think* we're going w/ Kylan as the name! I'm surprised we actually came up with another K name; both girls start w/ K as well!
clementine / 973 posts
@periwinklebee: thank you, and I’m so sorry about the stomach bug. I hope you all avoid it somehow. DS and I had it, but the hubs avoided it, so maybe you and your family will do the same! I hope your son is feeling better!
@Sams Mom: wow 26 weeks is amazing!! I can’t believe we are this far after being on the POAS board for so long together. It’s exciting. I think you should stick with Hazel Kennedy. It’s a beautiful name and flows well. That is so neat they are identical! I hope she had a smooth pregnancy with the shared placenta. FX.
@jaguar: @graceandjoy: thank you both and I love the name @graceandjoy!!!
I just had an ultrasound. Evie is 4lb 2oz and Dex is 4lb 8oz. Both look great. Today is my first official day off work, and I’m already feeling mentally relieved.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@Jessiemuller88: So glad babies are looking great and being off work has given some much needed and deserved relief!
@graceandjoy: LOVE the name! We still don't have one (haven't even really discussed it, hopefully she doesn't come too early, hah hah)
So far no stomach bug for me yet... I won't get my hopes up, I scrubbed so much puke and know pregnancy destroys your immune system - but the beginning of this week is such a mess at work with the holiday in the second half of the week - already don't know how on earth I'm going to finish everything tomorrow - that I'm really hoping for a miracle in terms of avoiding it...
pear / 1565 posts
@periwinklebee: You never know! I was pretty much 9 months pregnant when DD1 had coxsackie, and I slept next to her too, and I was fine!
