What kind of birth do you want?: hospital birth

What You're Most Excited For: first doctor appointment, Christmas time and pregnancy announcement

What You're Most Scared About: another miscarriage

Symptoms so far: headaches and fatigue

Child Number: One

What kind of provider will you see?: OBGYN

When's Your First Appointment?: 12/4

What kind of birth do you want?: a safe one that results in a healthy baby and mama! For me that'll mean the local hospital.

What You're Most Excited For: a baby! And being pregnant with friends IRL.

What You're Most Scared About: another miscarriage. Going in for HGC this week.

Symptoms so far: sore boobs, cramps, a little nausea, heightened smell

@runnerd: Sorry you haven't figured out the dr situation yet I recently moved and had to get a new provider (I'd actually never been to an OB before!). Asked a local friend who her mommy friends used. Haven't been to him yet, but people seem to really like him. Hope you find someone you like soon!!

When Did You Find Out?: October 24th. That was my first beta with my second on October 26th.

Child Number: 1!

Where You Live: SF Bay Area

What kind of provider will you see?: Right now I am with an RE (I went through IVF) but will be released to my OB at the end of the first trimester.

When's Your First Appointment?: November 11th

What kind of birth do you want?: An easy one??? One that results in a healthy baby.

What You're Most Excited For: Right now just being pregnant. It took us so long to get here that I am enjoying every day.

What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage.

Symptoms so far: Sore boobs but nothing else.

Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart: We haven't announced to anyone yet so there is no announcement. I do have a BFP picture that I need to get off of my phone. I POAS on the 26th just so that I could see what a positive looked like.

EDD: July 6th

When Did You Find Out?: October 28 -- I tested on a whim after feeling mildly nauseous for a week or so. We were shocked because we just had our son June 16th of this year! If all goes well my babies will be less than 13 months apart.

Where You Live: N. Idaho

What kind of provider will you see?: Unsure as of yet. I had a midwife for the last one and while I really liked her for appts and postpartum visits I had a bad delivery experience with her and I ended up having to be transferred to the hospital where I actually had a great experience. So I'm in the process of narrowing down hospital OB's and midwives and also considering one out of hospital midwife. We'll see!

When's Your First Appointment?: No idea -- see above.

What kind of birth do you want?: One that results in a healthy mama and baby! Ideally that would be a natural birth either in or out of hospital BUT I labored naturally with my first for 30 hours and getting stuck at 9cm for 6 of those before receiving the epidural at the hospital and it was the most amazing thing EVER. I'm just hoping that my next birth won't be such a marathon.

What You're Most Excited For: Hearing the heartbeat, feeling the baby move, finding out the gender, and introducing LO #2 to our son.

What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage. It's hard being so early in the pregnancy.

Symptoms so far: Moments of nausea. I had some sore boobs early last week (mostly noticeable while nursing LO) but that seems to have gone away.

@coopsmama: welcome!! I have to be honest that I'd be nervous as crap with the 2 under 13mo, but it will be a fun house of little ones! I'm also still trying to figure the doc thing out

@runnerd: oh believe me...DH and I *are* nervous! This was definitely not the timeline we'd pictured BUT we're excited for this new baby. Last week I might have cried a time or two. Or three. Just thinking of the logistics of it all!! But I'm just realizing that these next couple years will be about simplifying my life and loving on my babies as best as I can.

ETA: The doctor thing is so hard. I'm not even sure how to narrow them down and make a decision. Last time I went on a friend's recommendation and that clearly didn't work out for me. Labor is definitely not a one-size-fits-all thing. So yes. I've been putting that decision off and need to make it. Good luck on your search!

@spaniellove: were you upfront saying you were trying to find a doctor and hadn't made a decision at your visits?

Well my process has been slightly complicated since the two docs I was trying to decide between, one is an hour away and maybe not accepting new patients, and the other is maybe not accepting new patients.

I really don't want to have to go back to the doctor I tried for my annual appointment - she was nice but really trivialized my worries about the miscarriage history

@runnerd: I wasn't...what happened was I thought I wanted to go with one and when I went to schedule, they couldn't get me anything until really far out. After I hung up, I tried calling the other place and realized they were more experienced with patients from fertility clinics. I went and liked them a lot so I need to cancel the other appointment.

Have you tried calling each to see if you can even get an appointment? That might be the deciding factor. I understand about the one you've tried...it could be a sign that you guys have some friction or it could be that she's otherwise good and generally unsupportive when it comes to miscarriage. In my experience, it's really helpful if you're ever worried about anything (cramping, etc) to have a doctor who says "I know you've been through a lot, why don't you come in and we'll take a look."

@NorCalWayfarer: well last time we told close family around 5wk, and close friends around 7wk. So we had to make the rounds taking it back after missed miscarriage at 9wk. This time we are going to wait as long as we can, although I'm sure it will be hard cause I'm not a secret keeper.

I'll be around 11wk at Christmas too, so we will probably tell everyone then, and go Facebook public after that. Although I really would like two good appointments before sharing the news!

@NorCalWayfarer: Last time, we told my parents and in-laws at 9 weeks, the rest of the family at 11 weeks, and everyone else at 13 weeks.

This time around, my mom found out the day after I did as I accidentally texted her a text meant for my husband, haha, and we'll be telling my dad and sister around 8 weeks (Thanksgiving week) if all goes well. We're gonna tell the in-laws and everyone else at 13 weeks. (Last time, we told the in-laws when we told my immediate family and they ended up telling people before we were ready even though we'd asked them not to. That's why we're going to wait to tell them this time!)

I had horrible morning sickness last time that started up around 6 weeks so we'll see if that happens again towards the end of this week. I never thought I'd say it but I'm ready for more symptoms -- I want to know that things are progressing as they should.

Ok ladies - question: would you feel bad about being shady? I got a doctor appt! Yay, I already am off work to go to my friends Dr appt on 11/27 and was able to get appt the same day (this is the highly recommended dr I'm considering that's an hour away).

So the part I feel shady about - the appt scheduler said they usually do 1st appt 8-12 weeks, and she said I would just barely be 8 weeks so went ahead and scheduled me. BUT I KNOW I'll only be 7 weeks, cause my cycles are 5 weeks long, not 4. Would you feel bad not correcting her so you could get the appt date you wanted?
