@simplyfelicity: Thanks! hmm, maybe I shouldn't have assumed she'd look for a heartbeat at my appointment. I *think* the nurse said she'd look for a heartbeat but I can't remember that clearly. What did she do at your appt?
@FannyMae: thinking of you...hoping everything is okay!

@Reese: I'm glad you loved her! Midwives are the BEST! In a lot of the world midwives care for all low-risk births leaving OBs for high-risk births/deliveries. It makes so much sense but it hasn't caught on as quickly here! Having said that the midwives in my area have to turn a lot of women away. Embarrassing confession: I cried at my 6w PP appt with them! They did so much for me and it was so sad saying goodbye! Haha! (I'll blame it on PP hormones )

@Reese: @QBbride: I called the midwifery clinic here and got my name on the list, apparently they are having a meeting on Friday to determine who they will take on for July! She said on the phone there have been a lot of calls about July, I'm kicking myself for not calling sooner, but in the past I have called and then had to call them back and take myself off the list because of the miscarriages, it was so difficult so I waited his time, fingers crossed I get in, I should hear either way next week. After reading your experiences, I'm crossing my fingers I get in!! Thanks for the info ladies!

Thanks ladies, I've spend the night going round and round in circles, and had such a bad tummy ache through the night as I had worked myself up.
Basically - Day 14 - Pap Smear/US - OB states no ovulation taking place, clearly no follicle is mature/popped an egg.
Day 21 - Progesterone Blood Test - Comes back as 22, told that I have ovulated. Starting to think, maybe I was GOING to ovulate instead? I forgot to ask if hcg was tested at the same time.
Did we DTD unprotected between maybe days 19 - 25ish? OB says I must have ovulated MUCH later than Day 14, obviously follicle needed time to mature and pop the egg when there was nothing there at day 14? I doubt that sperm from Day 14 could have lasted a week and a bit later if I ovulated around Day 21 onwards. Makes sense that I concieved at a later date and that brings dates closer to 6 weeks.
Day 26ish I think I tested first, which came back negative. Day 28/29 symptoms were crazy bad, light spotting (I thought implantation) and missed period. Preg test came back positive but fairly light, a few days later another test was darker, and then about 5 weeks preg it was dark as anything (control line was lighter). Still a bit concerned about the fact he says there was some blood visible on the ultrasound, and hoping that its not getting worse.
Yep, I've driven myself batty all night.

@FannyMae: Thinking of you honey. There are lots of ladies on these boards who measured behind at ultrasounds and had healthy babes.

@FannyMae: thinking of you, it's so so hard not to think it over and over again and worry. I totally understand, I hope you can find some peace as you won't find out until next week the results of the blood tests, right? That's a ways away, have you got any projects to keep yourself busy?

I find out on Monday, so another 4 days to keep myself busy. I will be home alone all day tomorrow, so might meet up with my bestie and let our kids run riot for a while
positive news, zofran is working hooray!

@Reese: My midwife was the same way. I asked her about epidurals, because I do hope to have a med-free birth but I am not determined to do so if it isn't working out. She told me that her whole goal is just to get to know me better to help me make the choices I want to make. She gave the example of, "if you're 9 cm dilated and you say you want an epidural, it's my job to know if you actually want one, or you want me to talk you through it." I felt very supported and not judged.
@FannyMae: Thinking of you, hoping everything is okay!

@QBbride: thanks. This appointment is just a point and click. They let you look only at the 20 week. At my hospital you are not allowed asking the ultrasound tech questions.

@Tidybee: It was a pretty pointless appointment, really. She didn't check me or anything because I had just been there in July.

We met our litte gummybear! Saw the heartbeat (but forgot to ask the HR), and baby is now 1.42 cm tall, putting me at 7w5d. New estimated DD is 07/25, exactly the same as with DS! So I probably ovulated late, and this also explains the second smiley opk I got on Nov. 1st. Anyway, here's our baby!

Forgot to mention: the u/s started off with quite a scare! OB inserted the probe, and first thing he said was: "oh, there's a big cyst on this ovary", and immediately the screen fills up with a giant black volume. My heart almost stopped, but then he very quickly said he could see the baby too, but wanted to check out this cyst first. Well, apparently it's a fluid-filled sac on one of the ovaries that's formed with or previous to the pregnancy and has grown to 6 cm (like a golf ball). It's rare but harmless, both for me and the baby, but could cause acute abdominal pain if it should twist around it's attachment point (or at least that's what I understood). After delivery, it should go away on it's own but they'll keep monitoring it along the way. I'm still scared though, I've had endometriosis and I do not want anything around my ovaries that shouldn't be there. DH has googled it and apparently it's no big deal so I'll try not to worry about it and focus on baby instead!

@mrsvdv: little cutie! Congrats! And hopefully that cyst won't cause you any problems.

LO has a tummy bug and was throwing up yesterday and last night, poor little mite. I guess I will probably get it off her but since I spend a lot of the day puking anyway maybe it won't be too different

@FannyMae: still sending good thoughts your way! I do think with your timeline it is possible that you are not as far along and I hope that tour testing leads to clear and positive results! Hugs!
@mrsvdv: hi gummy bear baby! Great photo! And what a scare at the appointment! So glad all is well with baby and hoping the cyst doesn't cause problems!

@mrsvdv: hi cute little gummy bear!!
Ugh, what a rough morning! DH is out of town and DS put me through the wringer. He followed me around for over 30 minutes pitching a fit about nothing and everything. I was trying to get dressed so I could take him downstairs to get milk but none of my pants fit or safety pin well so I had nothing to wear. At one point we were both in tears. Then the sitter got there to pick him up as I was yelling at him. So I felt awful. Then he just couldn't pull himself together and kept whimpering. I comforted him as best I could then had to rush out the door. Ugh.

@mrsvdv: Yay! Hope the cyst does not cause you any issues!
I don't have my first u/s until next Thursday but I am very interested in how far along I am measuring as my cycle was about a week longer than usual and I actually got my positive OPK on 11/1 too.

@Candy_nee: oh poor you! I think we have all had days like that! Hope things pick up for you! On a practical note, do you have a Bella band? I got mine at target and it was perfect for those in between days when maternity was too big.
apricot / 324 posts
@QBbride: good luck! Can't wait to see a pic of your sweet baby!
@MamaCate: I dont, but I may have to get one. My issue was when I safety pinned a pair of pants, they were still lumpy. Does the Bella band help with that?

@mrsvdv: yay glad things are going well ..
anyone have total irrational thoughts like at my u/s tomorrow I keep dreaming they see nothing yay crazy pregnancy dreams
@Candy_nee: this was our Tuesday so I feel you!
nectarine / 2039 posts
@Candy_nee: I have definitely been short with my DS more than once mainly because of my pregnancy emotions or exhaustion. Don't worry: all the good, healthy times will outweigh whatever happens now and then.
pomegranate / 3595 posts
@Candy_nee: it is like a super stretchy piece of fabric, like part of a good camisole? I used to fold mine in two over pants that were unbuttoned and it smoothed things out enough not to be noticeable, plus kept my pants up! The real name brand ones are a little pricy but I think they are like $15 at target? I wore mine later on too over maternity pants where the band wasn't quite tight enough, so I felt like I got my money's worth.
@QBbride: good luck! Hope the time flies by! Mine is tomorrow and I am getting really nervous. I said to DH, I guess we will see if I sm really pregnant! But he said you are pregnant, you just need to see if everything is ok. So sensible!

@mrsvdv: Yay and congratulations on a happy ultrasound!@Reese: I have thought about it but know I will FREAK if I can't find it due to my own error. I know a lot of people love theirs, though.
@Mrs. Pickles: @QBbride: @MamaCate: Wishing you all awesome ultrasounds!
pomegranate / 3192 posts
@Candy_nee: I love my Bella Band! It helps smooth things out but I think I'm passed that stage now haha!
@Reese: I've heard good things about that Doppler too. I didn't get one last time and I don't think I will this time either. **for me**, I think I would just drive myself crazy with it and I feel like it wont be too long until I feel movement! But for some people it's definitely worth the investment. I've heard that they have great prices on eBay.

So... I wore this dress without thinking today. Ummm...hello, blump!
apricot / 324 posts
@simplyfelicity: you look adorable! Also, I used to have that same phone case for my iPhone!
kiwi / 584 posts
@simplyfelicity: I did the same thing as you today .. however pretty sure my blump is wayyy larger (there may have been extra padding pre-pregnancy
pomegranate / 3595 posts
@simplyfelicity: if it makes you feel better, my first thought was "cute dress!" Not "hello blump!"
pomegranate / 3521 posts
@simplyfelicity: @QBbride: Yeah, I'm worried about it too. I'm not going to use it until right after my ultrasound next week so I am less worried if I don't find it or if it takes me some time. A lot of the reviews were of women saying they were able to find it pretty easily so I hope that's true. I picked it up for a pretty good price on ebay
nectarine / 2039 posts
@Reese: how often do you think you will use it? Like every night before bed? After pregnancy you can sell it so it sounds like a good plan.
pomegranate / 3521 posts
@cvbee: I don't know. I was hoping just to use it when I feel like I need reassurance.. Even later in pregnancy when I have t felt the baby move in a while.

One perfect baby measuring 10w3d!!! I'm SO relieved! I'm not sure what that makes my due date? Probably around July 7 which was my original guess!

@QBbride: Yay! So glad that all is well with you and baby! What a great photo!
