@angelachase: @mamacate: It feels like little muscle spasms to me too!! When I first started feeling movement, it was just above my pubic bone and now (14 weeks) it is around my belly button. Hope that's the right place for it haha!

@QBbride: I'm definitely feeling little flutters and tickles right under my belly button!

I just want to say thank you to all of you ladies, even though I'm on number 2, I still am the only one of my friends to have kiddos. It's a good feeling to share stories etc. with individuals who are in the same boat makes it less lonely.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! The baby looks great and is measuring right on for a July 30th EDD. My DD was so excited to see her little sibling moving around, my heart is full.

@cait: amazing! What a gorgeous baby!

I just had an appt and ultrasound today! Baby looks great, he/she was wiggling his/her little arms and legs about! And the heartbeat sounded good too! Ah, it's such a relief going in for ultrasounds. I'm almost 11w and the doctor reassured me that the chance of a m/c has gone way down, but of course now I'm fretting about everything else (which I won't type out because I'm superstitious). I know I just need to stay positive and keep myself busy and time will fly!

Just ate a huge amount of flaming hot Cheetos and kind of feel bad about myself/it was still worth it.

@simplyfelicity: Ha! Don't feel bad. I was sitting in bed last night eating white cheddar puffs and watching the Bachelor. Best night ever!

Sorry i haven't been on here the last few days. What a whirl wind. Had the EKG on Friday which was normal. Monday I had the Echo and my heart did palpitations during it so I'm glad that they caught it in action. I even made the comment at least I'm not crazy! I also had the ultrasound with the high risk doc. Very long 30 min ultrasound measuring tons of things. Very educational. Baby looks perfect so that's a relief! I got fitted today for a heart monitor! Yay me! Should know more by the end of the week after the monitor does it's thing. Can't wait to get this heart thing figured out! Will check in with everyone tomorrow! Good night all!

@sweetooth: Welcome back! So sorry to hear how sick you have been on top of first trimester ick and hoping you recover soon!

@Mrs. Pickles: Yay for movement and companionship! I am so glad to have you all especially since no one other than DH knows in real life.

@Ginabean3: So glad to hear your appt went well! Almost out of the first tri!

@turkeylurkey: Sounds scary! Hope they get everything figured out soon. Good to hear from you!

As for me, I got a voicemail from my ob office telling me that the genetic screening all came back normal, which is great! But, they didn't say anything about the sex. I almost called back to ask but then decided I could wait a few more days till my appt on Friday and DH and I can find out together. I am trying to be patient!

Got my NT Scan today. Tech wouldn't tell me anything about measurements right now or guess at the sex. She said she would call with the results whether high or low risk by Monday. Baby's heartbeat is 146 now and still measuring 5 days ahead. He/she was being lazy at first, had to be woken up to get the measurements lol. It was really cool to get to see my baby move.

Just having a random weird downer moment. But, for those mamas who are pregnant after a loss; when did it become "real" for you?

I'm so glad to say I'm 11 weeks tomorrow. That we had a great scan at 7.5 weeks and I've been hearing the heartbeat every week since then with my home doppler. I feel all the symptoms and rationally know that the stats for m/c are less and less likely. But, at the same time, I find myself emotionally detached or afraid to be truly happy! Most days I really am fine and trust in God's plan, but for some reason, I'll have random "oh no I'm being naive and something could go wrong" moments like right now.

I really want to enjoy this pregnancy and I don't feel like I'm being fair. But, I'm def jaded after my CP loss, even though it was so early on.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I'm sure it's just nerves for my next OB appt Friday and our NT scan next week.

I just want to know that there's an end to this pessimistic view on pregnancy, because I'm usually a glasses half full type of person!

@sugarbee: yay for a great scan!
@turkeylurkey: i hope you hear back soon! yay for healthy baby!
@simplyfelicity: OMG I've been craving those!!
@Ginabean3: yay for a great scan!
@mamacate: yay, can't wait to find out Friday!!

  20. Tidybee

@mrsjyw: Our NT scan made it very real for me. I could see an actual baby, and i got the results right there saying that everything was great. I still have moments where I know something could go wrong, but at this point, I'm trying to remind myself that I'm out of the riskiest stage and that all I can do is hope for the best. What will be will be.

@Ginabean3: that sounds like a lovely night! I am so sad I slipped and saw the winner of the bachelor when I was looking up something about one of the girls that I missed on the show...

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts

@Tidybee: thanks friend! I'm hoping that's when it'll emotionally click for me. And I guess it's just nerves for that to go ok next week keeping my emotions at bay. SO SO happy for you and can't wait to join you in "real"ness next week!

@Tidybee: I reality steve'd myself too! I think I'm going to watch this season anyway, looks good, and I'm not a huge Bachelor franchise fan!

  24. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

@mrsjyw: haha I'm such a reality steve fan. I usually just see who the final 5-6 are because I don't have the time/patience for all of the stuff leading up to it. It does look like it gets 50 shades of crazy in there though! I love the drama and the crazy!
ALso with the realness comes the minor freakout that we're going to have 2 kids and go through the past 2 years all over again...for better and for worse!

  25. mrsjyw

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts

@Tidybee: yea I usually just watch the final rose ceremony can you believe it that we're back here doing it again? that definitely adds to the surrealness of it all! never ends!! Hope you're feeling well

@mrsjyw: @Tidybee: Can one of you tell me what happens in the tent!? That is all I want to know! I swore I wouldn't watch this season but here I am..

Congrats on all the great NT scans!

  27. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

@mrsjyw: I get that, too. Even though I am sporting a little bump and will be 15w tomorrow, I worry that something has happened since my 9 week ultrasound. I worry I am falling in love with a baby I will never meet but I try to remember that feelings are just that, vibrations that come and go. I might be worried now but excited a few minutes later. I try to remember the joy I felt at the ultrasound and imagine how healthy baby is now.

@mamacate thanks two days to wait seems like forever
@mrsjyw: thanks too. To answer your question above about when does it feel real when do you connect? I haven't had a mc but I can say that I don't feel connected yet. I think with my first child I really felt connected when I felt him start moving and that was about the time we started the nursery. I'm thinking that's what will happen this time too. So don't feel bad or guilty that you're not connected it will come.

@Tidybee: I hear us on the starting over after the last 2 years with a new baby! I didn't start to feel like myself again until a few months ago and then bam I'm Prego! Hoping that these next 2 years fly by but not too fast

  31. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

@mrsjyw: I feel the same way sometimes. My loss was a missed m/c at 12 weeks last time so I am still very cautious until my appt on Friday. Once I get past that hump, I think I will start to accept it more. I really was not letting myself think about it yet until the first appt and felt so surprised and relieved to see a healthy bean in there. Only after that appt did I start to think about, oh here we go again, and paying for another in daycare. I still find myself saying if, if, if. On the one hand I get that I am trying to guard my heart, but on the other hand, I would be devastated if something happened even with all that. So I don't know if it helps to feel like you are not alone but you aren't.

@MamaCate: I wouldn't be able to be patient! Lol I was totally good the first week after my blood draw, but after a convo with a coworker yesterday....I now wanna know the gender, like, NOW. My results aren't back yet! Argh. I think my brain just wants to get into planning mode lol

@mrsjyw: I'm preg after a loss as well and will be 11w on friday....and I'm feeling exactly the same as you. We've had good scans. Saw and heard the heartbeat a few times...but I am still not emotionally attached and still freak out daily about every ache, pain, symptom, etc. that I feel. I've been ignoring the fact that we had the blood draw to tell us the gender until yesterday - I think that's going to make it much more "real" once we find out and I don't be able to remain so detached. Now I'm super anxious about getting the results....super, super anxious. I've also had a few friends tell me that they felt scared the WHOLE time, until they held the baby in their arms. I really hope that's not the case.

Seriously...why do these blood tests take so long?!? It's been 8 days and they still don't have them

@mrsjyw: i haven't suffered a loss but i can tell you that at 14w I still don’t feel very connected. I am not sure if it is because this pregnancy has been more difficult (working/caring for another LO) or because it was a (very much wanted) surprise but it still doesn’t feel real. We skipped the NT scan so we won’t see the baby until our gender scan on Feb 6th. I’m hoping that once the movement is a little more consistent and we fond out what we’re having (!!!) it will seem more real! Reading everyone’s responses though it seems pretty normal to feel this way!

@Reese: Seriously what happens in the ten? I want to know too

As far as connected to the baby, I keep feeling guarded even at almost 15wks.. we had a m/c at 6wks a year ago so we've passed that point but I still feel like I'm holding back. I agree with maybe feeling connected once we know the gender

  35. QBbride

    pomegranate / 3192 posts

@mrsjyw: I don't really have a good answer for you either! I'm 14 weeks now and it still doesn't seem real. I'm busy with my toddler but I find I try not to think about my pregnancy as much and I don't love talking about it. I think I'm just scared. I'm hoping after my anatomy u/s I can believe this is actually happening!

Thanks for the solidarity, mamas! Glad to know I'm not alone. And I def agree that it took me a while to get attached even in my first pregnancy, let alone that coupled with M/C fears from the CP loss.

Anyway, today is a new day and I'm feeling hopeful and excited for the weeks/months to come!

Now if this nausea would stay away!
