    @sweetooth: Yep I told her a couple of weeks ago and a few of my coworkers. I haven't told my entire team yet.

    Had a OB check-up today, alls well! I'm up 5lbs total since BFP! FX I can keep this pace and gain a lil less than I did with DS. Also, scheduled our anatomy scan for 3/4! Can't believe it!!! So soon!

    @sweetooth: I told mine after our 13 week appointment. She is busy so I put a meeting on her calendar and she freaked out bc she thought I was quitting and was so relieved/excited when I said I was pregnant. Told my team a few days later!

    @sweetooth: I finally told mine a couple weeks ago :s it's still a touchy subject lol. I have one more person to tell and I'm just dreading it.

    How's everyone's weekend going? I went with dh and Lo to try and buy a glider, and we came home with no glider but a new master bed set hahahaha. It was actually necessary because since we moved dh and I have been sharing a double bed and with all my pregnancy shifting around and pillow arrangements it's getting be a source of tension lol.

    Still no glider. I can't find anything I like that's not a zillion dollars. I saw this nice one at west elm today but in canada it only comes in light grey velvet which seems very impractical to me.

    Anyone started buying furniture things?

    @fuzzypeaches: we bought all of dS' big boy furniture and have been swapping it out this past week. His mattress comes in tomorrow so that's the last thing. We weren't going to buy a second glider but I think we just decided to today! We still use dS' glider daily and his room would have an empty spot without it so we're going to start browsing.

    The guest room is now full of junk that was already in there plus all the baby furniture and gear we moved out dS' closet and room. Not looking forward to cleaning that out to paint it!

    @mrsjyw: I'm obsessed with finding a glider right now! Which one do you have already?

  6. mrsjyw

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts

    @fuzzypeaches: we bought our glider and ottoman from BuyBuyBaby. Little Castle brand, sales girl hooked it up and let us use a 20% off and a $100 off $500 purchase coupon. So we got the $600+ set for under 400$. Attached a pic.

    A little late to the game but I've been stalking all the gorgeous nurseries on here and I'd love to join! We're finding out gender on Thursday, plus I've prepped and undercoated the nursery this weekend to be ready to go once we find out, so things are feeling very real!

    Location: Australia

    EDD: July 15th

    How far along: 17w4d

    First child? yes

    First doctor appointment: seems so long ago- I saw my GP at 7 weeks. I'm doing shared care as I live in what is considered a rural area (even though I live 400m from the beach!) and there is no option to go private. So I alternate between monthly GP appointments (my GP used to be an OB) and visits with the midwives in the hospital.

    Any symptoms so far? The worst morning sickness from weeks 5-16. I was vomiting a minimum of 4 times a day, some days so much I'd lose count. I probably should have gone to the hospital on many occasions in hindsight but I'm the worst patient ever... Magically though, at 16 weeks it was like a switch and I woke up fine. It's been just over a week and although I'm tired and am getting intermittent headaches, I feel fantastic!!

    Who have you told? Everyone! Unfortunately due to my MS, I had to tell my co-workers way before I should have at 7 weeks. They have been great though =)

    @fuzzypeaches: we have no furniture yet. The baby is getting his big brothers crib once we transition my older ine to his big boy bed next month. My mom has offered to put some money towards glider for us so we are going to go look next week when shes in town. That's about all we've done. Oh! I did buy his bedding though.

    I have been on the glider hunt as well but I refuse to spend $600+ on a damn chair. I might just get the Dutailier even though I don't love the style. They have a good deal at Costco.

    @travelgirl1: Yay, that's great!

    Ugh, I don't know what it is with this pregnancy, but I don't think I'm ready for exercise yet. I took DS on a long walk with his scooter and I still hurt all over. If this keeps up, I'll be in such awful shape when it's time for baby to be born... With DS, I was climbing roofs and stairs and never any problems, but this time I spend a day chasing a toddler and I'm a wreck Very proud of DS though for handling an hour's walk and not once asking me to carry him!

    @Mama Bird: I'm nowhere near ready for exercise yet either. 18 weeks and I still get very nauseous at times, especially if I stand up for too long. Hopefully we will both be pounding the treadmill soon Or maybe just doing yoga or walks

    @TheSwissWifeStyle: I was so hoping that pregnancy pillow you got would be like sleeping on a cloud...bummer! Hope you enjoyed swimming!

    @Mama Bird: @Mama Bird: @Mrs. Pickles: @mrsjyw: Thanks for the encouragement to just got for it and tell my boss. Not sure why I'm nervous this time...maybe it's because I'm kind of considering not returning once this baby is born

    @Bluemasonjar: Putting something on the calendar might be just the thing. He probably will think something is up. But it might be the only way to make myself commit to telling him sooner rather than later. At my former job I had the opposite experience you did. I took my boss in to a conference room to tell her I was quitting and she thought I was going to tell her I was pregnant. She was pretty upset.

    @fuzzypeaches: Good luck telling the remaining people you have to at work. Let's both do it soon so it's behind us!
    As for the glider, I think velvet is super impractical. Just think about the sweating, the spitups, the mess that comes with kiddos. You'll want a material you can clean easily. That will talk you out of the beautiful west elm glider I'm torn because I never really stuck with one chair the entire time I nursed. I was all over the place. So I'm going to try and do without a glider again for #2.

    @bunnylove: Welcome and congrats! I'm glad your morning sickness has subsided. I'm into week 18 now, and I still can't shake the early morning, and late night blehs.

    @Candy_nee: super cute bedding!

    @travelgirl1: How exciting! I can't wait to feel the baby move.

    @Mama Bird: I'm with you. I was pregnant with my first when it wasn't winter and I was outside walking 1-2 miles everyday very early on in my pregnancy. I think it helped me so much. I'm hoping I can get into a rhythm with long walks again soon. But I'm exhausted with my little guy and just being pregnant.

    @mrsjyw: Such a big milestone! How did he do in his big boy bed?

  22. ValentineMommy

    @mrsjyw: That's when our scan is too! Must be a good date I can't wait! How did DS do in his big boy bed?

    @sweetooth: I told my boss at something like 9 weeks or so. I was really sick and couldn't hide it. Lol Also, we used to be peers/friends before she was promoted, so it wasn't a big deal to me. She knew about my mc last summer too, so I felt ok telling her. Good luck - just do it and get it over with!

    @fuzzypeaches: We had a crazy busy weekend with DS1's second birthday and party! I'm exhausted! We haven't bought anything big yet for the nursery, as we have most of the big stuff from DS1, but we have to get going on painting. I know I'm going to end up doing a lot of it, so I need to do it before I'm huge and uncomfortable!

    @bunnylove: Welcome and congrats!!!

    @Candy_nee: cute! Love the pattern!

    @Mama Bird: I feel the same way. We went to the aquarium yesterday and I was aching all over. My feet hurt all the time and just ache terribly! What is it with the second time around?

  23. mrsjyw

    @sweetooth: good luck with telling your boss!

    @bunnylove: congrats and welcome!

    @mama bird: I've made it to the gym once a week, if it's a good week! I have been trying to be more active with DS. Walking around a lot at the mall, etc.

    @ValentineMommy: happy birthday to your DS! DS did well last night (knock on wood), sttn and was up at normal time!

    Just a note to you guy switching to twin or regular beds without box springs, it's a PITA trying to find a bed rail that works with a trundle and/or bed that doesn't require a box spring! We ended up just using pool noodles/towels, and decided to save the money on the rail! DS did really well

    @sweetooth: the pillow is feeling better, maybe I just had to get used to it. I still get aching hips sometimes though.

    So...it looks like I'm another boy-mom over here! I totally thought we were gonna have a girl. But the doc today said he's 80% sure it's a boy. (I'm 17 weeks tomorrow btw.) I guess my dream was right! I only told my mom so far. We're gonna tell his folks tomorrow, and then go public with it .

    Also, does his profile look funny? Like a little chimp almost...! Is this normal?

    @mrsjyw: we were going to go the pool noodle route too but i think we got a cheap regalo rail from amazon that swings down and locks up that has worked well. We could probably not use it too...DD doesn't move an inch in her sleep.

    @mrsjyw: Ahhhh big boy! Did he manage okay? We finally moved A out of our room and onto a floor bed last week. I was a mess, she did fab!

    @travelgirl1: yes! he sttn and just rolled around per usual until I went to get him this morning

    @Mrs. Pickles: @travelgirl1: we had the regalo one too! doesn't fit, I found ONE that may work with our bed. But I think the pool noodles will be fine for now!

    Question for those of you keeping your LO#1s in the same room and just swapping out furniture... did you redecorate too? We decided we won't be re-painting DS' room (I love the colors anyway), but there are a few patch jobs to do and I want to change out some wall art and such. I just don't know WHEN I'll do it, since it's a space we use so often, daily!

    @mrsjyw: what a big boy! I'm glad he took to it so well.

    @TheSwissWifeStyle: aww, so cute! don't worry if the pic looks funny. On his last ultrasound, my oldest looked like exactly like he has a piglet nose! My husband was seriously worried but it was just the way the kid was wiggling.

    @mrsjyw: we are not redecorating DS#1's room when we switch him to a big boy bed. I decorated the nursery with keeping the decor as he transitioned to his big boy room.

    @Mama Bird: @travelgirl1: so sorry to hear you guys still aren't feeling up to speed! hoping it turns around for you soon!

    I took a week off from working out last week to try to get over my cold and then eased back in yesterday with like 20 minutes of zumba from youtube. I felt a little sore yesterday but feel fine today so I think I am going to switch to a mix of that and prenatal yoga and leave jillian for a while. It was getting to be that time anyway...

    @TheSwissWifeStyle: congrats on the boy! Let us know how sharing the news goes! We do call it an anatomy scan here too and I think a lot of us will have them in March. (Mine is 3/13.)

    @mrsjyw: so glad that DS did well in the big boy bed! We transitioned DD at 3 and she did really well, but had been on a floor bed so we didn't bother with railings or anything.

    As for me, we are having a heat wave here and it has been so nice to get into maxi skirts and dresses and stop hiking up my maternity jeans 800 times a day! It should cool down by the end of the week again so I am enjoying it while it lasts and feeling confident that these will be the major parts of my wardrobe come summer!

    I just got back from my OB appointment. I'm so relieved every time I hear my baby's heartbeat! He kicked the doppler too - feisty little guy. I've only felt a few motions lately, but I rarely slow down enough to just pay attention to my belly. I'll have to make more time for that. It's definitely one of the best parts of pregnancy for me.

    I think this is the motivation I needed to tell my boss. I just needed to hear the heartbeat once more. These 4 week gaps between appointments feels like FOREVER! I have my anatomy scan next week. Can't wait to see the little guy again.
