@Jess1483: I really like the card idea, including the baby+ last name.

@78h2o: Wild. Because bcbs told me they're not billed as routine maternity in order to be covered. The test is so new I'm not sure the insurance companies even know what they're doing! I called billing at my doctors office and she said the lab told her it's being covered by insurance as long as its coded high risk for under or over 35. If not, it's $2763.

Anyone else use the Ovia app? They show your baby's hand size relative to size at birth. The 10 week hand is still tiny but cute!

@78h2o: That is soooo cute!! I'm off to download that app right now!!

@78h2o: Cute!! This week has been fun for morning sickness. My nose is really runny or dry. So, I get nauseous easily. I drank a hot chocolate with milk and fully paid for it a couple of minutes ago. No Starbucks for me! I'm hoping to see the baby tomorrow. Whenever I feel like crap, I always worry if the baby's okay in there despite my body going haywire.

@cascademom: I'm the other way around!! When I'm feeling well, I'm nervous because I want to make sure the baby is still growing well in there!

@MrsBrewer: Yeah, I worry both ways lately. When I had that huge intestinal distress before, I was really worried about the baby. Seeing munchkin on the ultrasound at 9 weeks was a huge relief, but I still worry.

  10. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@cascademom: I think we are destined to worry 24/7

  11. cascademom

@MrsBrewer: That's a huge given. I worry about LO all the time. This munchkin, pregnancy is so different from LO's that I still worry a lot. Like LO's pregnancy, I say prayers before bed for the munchkin as well as the rest of the family.

I stayed home from work again today. I guess yesterday's aura/migraine/whatever took more out of me than I expected. I am so sore all over. I couldn't make myself eat dinner or breakfast so I'm feeling pretty weak too. I'm kind of hoping I have the flu and that this isn't just pregnancy. I finally ate some chicken broth and crackers. Hoping to feel better soon.

@Corduroy: I hope you feel better asap. Get some much needed rest. Feeling crappy is no fun at all.

@78h2o: I love that app. I also like sprout!

Okay yall, I just had a ham and cheese sandwich from jimmy johns. I'm sitting really still to see how I react. This is my first piece of real food in days! Last night I had 3 slices of bread for dinner lol. The sub was so so good. I'm just hoping baby likes it.

@dc yoga bee: mmmm Jimmy John's. I haven't had them since college. Hopefully the baby can appreciate it.

@dc yoga bee: Jimmy John's is so yummy! Here's to hoping baby agrees!

@Eko: @Mrs.KMM: Jimmy John's was the first post delivery meal we had courtesy of our friends. So good. One of our friends is going to be LO's godmother very soon.

The last two days, I've tried snacking immediately when I felt the tiniest bit hungry or nauseous, and I haven't felt nearly as horrible as before. I now carry a variety of snacks with me at all times. I feel like it's helped. Well, you know, with the exception of my face in the toilet in the mornings now!

Actually, question! I usually take the gummy prenatal vitamins as soon as I wake up (well, I hit snooze for a good half hour), but today had m/s about a half hour after the vitamins. Would you take more? Tmi but they totally came up...

@MRSKMM: May be totally unrelated, but whenever I give my dogs pills they throw them up 30 minutes later no matter what type of pill. The vet told me, it only takes half an hour for a pill to get into "our" bloodstream so do not give them another dose. She always says "ours," so I think she's including us humans!

These pills must really be doing their job. I just had a tuna sub! I know I know, lay off the subs. But doctor told me I can have tuna twice a week, and I haven't had any real food until today. Hopefully, I'm turning a corner. I need to start introducing other than sub sandwiches tomorrow lol!

@dc yoga bee: Hmm, well that's good advice! I don't want to take too much but I want to make sure I got the benefit from them!

I hear you on that! I'm currently addicted to plain cheerios... not exciting, but they've been the only thing that consistently stay down can't wait for next week! First visit, first u/s, and hopefully some advice on the nausea!

@MrsKMM: I asked my doc if I miss a pill if I should try to take two the next day and she said no. I'd imagine it's the same thing. Better to just skip that day, I think.

@MrsKMM: Could you take your prenatals at a different time during the day? What about before bed?

  22. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@MrsKMM: I don't know if this makes a difference for you, but the only way I can take my prenatals is immediately after eating a meal. I don't use the gummies (which I know overall can be easier on your stomach), but I use normal vitamins and cut them in half and take with food.

When is everyone's first or second appts?? I have my second appt coming up on Tuesday and I'm so excited! I will be able to hopefully hear baby's heartbeat on the Doppler!

@MrsBrewer: Other than my 5ish week u/s, my first/next is next Friday, the 14th. I'll be 8 weeks. I have another the following Friday too. Just one more week of waiting!

  25. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@MrsBrewer: I had a 5w and 8w u/s. I have another one on 11/8, I'll be 10w by then. I am trying to get use to all this waiting (and trying not to buy any baby related things).

  26. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@LindsayInNY: Yay!! I had my ultrasound at 7W5d and I could tell that it's starting to look like a baby then too!

  27. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@MrsKMM: I was going to recommend the opposite with the prenatals. It has always been my understanding that if you take/consume more of a vitamin or nutrient than you need, then you body just expels the rest as waste. So taking an extra dose of the prenatals shouldn't hurt you but if your body didn't absorb the first set before you threw them up, then you still get the benefit.

@MrsBrewer: My first appointment was the beginning of the week so I have a decent wait for my next appointment. It isn't until Dec. 3rd.

@MrsBrewer: due date twins!! I'm wearing my first maternity dress today, and just ordered a peacoat for winter. None of my coats button or zip

@dc yoga bee: Yes pic!!! I have 1 peacoat that I'm still wearing, but I feel stupid because I only button the top 2 buttons, and leave the 3rd unbuttoned!

Has anyone started to buy any baby things? Things are starting to settle in and today I am trying really hard not to buy anything. I've heard some people wait until they have their gender scan, but I'm team green so I could buy as much as I wanted to!

  34. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Eko: I'm team green also! We already bought a crib and dresser for the baby!

@Eko: My MIL has bought us a couple of outfits and now that we've seen the heartbeat, we're going to start looking at painting the nursery. We want to hold off on buying furniture and stuff until after our twelve week scan and genetic screen come back okay though.
