@78h2o: Tired and gassy. We went to the Conservatory on Saturday with LO for a program there. By the time we left, I felt super gassy and tired. DH read to LO for naptime while I lounged on the couch. It took until nap time was over with to feel better. I've been going to bed earlier lately. I'm still struggling to cook and not gag while doing it.

@Jess1483: oh no! I'm sure LO is fine, and too busy playing to care!

@78h20: I'd totally assume you're pregnant! I had a certificate from Red Door for a free pedicure that was about to expire so I had to drag myself there in Saturday. I totally fell asleep during it! I liked that they didn't have the massage chairs.
I could just soak and unwind. Get one this weekend!

@cascademom: Cook? What's that lol! Big props to you for still cooking. If DH isn't ordering out, he's making quick meals from the freezer these days I want to make a chicken meal for dinner tonight, but don't know what to do with it. It needs to be super quick and easy! What types of stuff are you cooking?

@dc yoga bee: I haven't cooked much since getting pregnant. The exhaustion at the end of the day coupled with food smells makes it tough. I did Parmesan crusted salmon the other night. Tonight, I'm going to do Chicken a la Swiss. Some meals are those easy to whip up pasta meals. Otherwise, LO will eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese some nights, then we'll order out.

@dc yoga bee: lol, yeah, I bet she is assuming so. I'll probably just tell her. Might be apparent anyway.

@cascademom: What's chicken a la Swiss? Chicken with Swiss cheese on top or inside? Sounds good!

I did some freezer meals when I was pregnant with my m/c, so we're using those a lot. I am still meal planning and cooking, but trying to be flexible with what I cook each day (although that's not always possible due to timing). Today I think I'm doing spaghetti, which is easy because I have frozen sauce, but we've also been doing crockpot meals (they don't smell much), homemade pizza, tacos, etc. Easy things I'm not frustrated if I can't eat. The biggest thing this pregnancy for me is I can't eat something soon after I had it (so no leftovers). I tried to have leftover pizza for lunch--blech. So I'm trying to be creative.

@dc yoga bee: It's a recipe from an old neighbor of ours. Grease a 9 x 13 pan, place chicken breasts in pan, cover with Swiss cheese. Mix a can of cream of celery soup and a can or so of water, place over the chicken breasts, mix a box of stuffing with melted butter (a stick), pour over the chicken breasts, bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes. It looks messy, but is delicious.

@78h2o: I'm sorry to hear that your OB is very unaccommodating. That's frustrating, but hopefully you will see some good stuff when you get your doppler back! I would personally probably assume you were k/u if you were asking for it back.

@Jess1483: I am super tired all the time too. I managed to take a 2 hour nap yesterday while DH cleaned the house. I am sure your LO went to grandma's since usually grandma gives them whatever they want.

@dc yoga bee: I have been getting away with just using my crock-pot for meals. It's easy to prep and usually will last me a couple days, so I am not figuring it out everyday. If you don't have one I would really recommend getting one. Usually wal-mart does good black Friday deals. I got a friend one last year for $10!

@Eko: Haha, that's true. He does love his grandma, and it'll be good to get the work done. I was just feeling guilty. But I'm sure he's over it

@cascademom: yummmm! I have Italian breadcrumb toppings, and I think I do have some Swiss cheese. The only thing is I think I'll have to substitute cream of chicken for cream of celery as I don't think I have that. Thawing chicken now. Thanks!!!!

@Jess1483: I love spaghetti with fresh peppers and onions, and ground beef. DH loves it when make it, but if I tell him ahead of time Im making it he says he hates spaghetti!

  11. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

@dc yoga bee: You can use any cream of soup. I'm preferable to celery, but chicken will work too.

I started a gold bump thread. Can't wait to see everyone's baby bellies. Mine is ridiculous.

@cascademom: okay last question (I'm not a big cook!) I don't have Swiss cheese! I only have kraft American! Is it going to taste horrible? I'm trying to avoid a trip to the grocery store, but can go if needed!

  16. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

@dc yoga bee: I think that any shredded hard cheese would be good. American would probably taste bad as much as I love it in grilled cheese and other applications. It's not really a melting/melted cheese dish kind of cheese.

  17. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@cascademom: I figured! We have a market in our building. I'll run downstairs (just kidding-walk) and see if they have Swiss. If not I'll be shutting down my computer exactly 5pm
So I can hopefully not get caught in too much traffic to go 2mi to the grocery store
ETA: Even better, I called and they have it! Gonna go get a pack!

  18. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@dc yoga bee: You could probably sub another white shredded cheese too instead of swiss! Like an Italian blend, mozzarella, etc. Just to make your life easier

  19. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@cascademom: @LindsayInNY: I have cheese now! They only had two packs left too. Although, I have no gadget to shred this stuff, so slicing it thinly I guess LOL!!

  20. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

@dc yoga bee: Slicing thinly works too!

@cascademom: a quick google searth says I can use my food processor and just put chunks in there. Now I do have one of those still in the box!

I think I'm heading to Marshall's or Target tonight. Pants are much tighter at the end of the day than the beginning. I want to try and find thick, fleece lined leggings (so I can wear them for vacation too) or ponte style pants or something? Resisting a belly band for a bit longer.

  23. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@LindsayInNY: good luck! I love the fleece leggings. I can still fit into my cuddle duds for now!

@cascademom: Making the dish now.! Took a break since DH is running late from work. The food processor worked great with the cheese!

@LindsayInNY: I just bought fleece leggings, can't wait to try them! And same: pants start out feeling fine but by the time I drive home they feel kinda tight!

@LindsayInNY: Good luck shopping! If you find some of those leggings, let me know. I might have to go buy a pair!

@cascademom: Yikes, I think I used too much water! It's really watery. I'm letting it sit on top of the stove, and then will scoop senof the liquid once it thickens.

I just realized that I've been drinking way too much Crystal Light aka aspartame. Now I'm worried for my munchkin. Hopefully quitting it now will help the baby. Ugh, so worried over baby in general, now this.

  28. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@dc yoga bee: @MrsKMM: @Mrs.KMM: Well that was a bust. Marshall's had leggings that were either paper thin or meant for a teenager. And I am not a teenager... I don't know what to do. I might try Target or another Marshall's/TJ location? I have two pairs of casual pants that I can bring on vacation in two weeks (9-10 weeks pregnant) that won't suffocate me by the end of the day. I need more than two pants for a week! And it'll be 40-50s so I can't do dresses or anything either. Ugh. Help!!

@LindsayInNY: Gah, I'm sorry! I ordered maternity leggings from old navy for $10. I've heard gap maternity leggings (I think they're 2 for $29) work really well too.

  30. MrsKMM

    apricot / 263 posts

@LindsayInNY: I haven't tried them on yet, but I got mine, oddly enough, at Bed Bath & Beyond for $10. They felt thick enough and were in solid colors as well as a couple patterns. I've heard good things about gap ones. Good luck!

  31. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@cascademom: I know... It's so hard not to worry. Just think though of all those "I didn't know I was pregnant" peeps...the vast majority of them have totally healthy babies and probably ingest all kinds of things you'd never consider consuming. I know several people who consumed lots of CL and had perfect babies. probably still doesn't help, but I think you are ok.

I got my Doppler back and looked for baby for awhile. I never got a great read, but I do think I found baby for a brief bit... So that makes me feel a little better about my fall.

I tried going kayaking this weekend with the DH...bad idea! I got so sea sick even though the water was like glass. We ended up tying our kayaks together so I could just relax.

@LindsayInNY: Ok I've been lurking since my pregnancy scare just for curiosity and I'd like to recommend Sock Dreams. They have more than just an awesome selection of socks. Fleece leggings are $18, but they are one size. The staff are super-awesome at describing fit and sizing, so maybe they'll work for you?

Here is a link directly to the Fleece-lined leggings you mentioned.

There are other fleece types as well

@78h2o: That's awesome that you got to partially see something!

@rpparker: That's interesting that you got sea sick from kayaking on clear water!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I am over this feeling and looking fat/bloated, rather than looking pregnant.

@dc yoga bee: I'm not really for maternity leggings I'm going to try Uniqlo I think? I saw some on their website. Or maybe even Old Navy skinnies in a larger size.

@redeyedtreefr0g: Thanks!! I'll check them out!

  36. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@LindsayInNY: mine from old navy don't have any sort of maternity panel. They're just sized up I think. But, nothing on my belly!

I think I'm having a food aversion to my morning oatmeal breakfast I make it during the week (3-4 mornings?) with egg whites for added protein. I don't know if I'm having an issue with the texture or what but I feel like it's time is limited... I'm not going to know what to eat now!

  38. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@dc yoga bee: I just looked at the Old Navy website - the maternity leggings are half the price as the regular ones! That's ridiculous! Might stop in store to look this week...

  39. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@LindsayInNY: The one pair of leggings I have are from Zara. They aren't maternity or anything but they are still comfortable for now (at 9 weeks). They don't have the fleece lining you were looking for but they are plenty thick so they are warm and you aren't going to feel like they are see-through.

@LindsayInNY: also look at cuddleduds. They aren't maternity, but are fleece leggings. I'm still wearing my size mediums at 10w4d, and I have quite the bloat/gut! They're sooo warm!
