@MrsKMM: Ahh, good to know since DH will be with me! Won't be surprised when I'm asked to derobe, LOL!

@LindsayInNY: They did a full pap and annual exam at my first appointment (in addition to the vaginal ultrasound). Just as an FYI since you may have the same!

@Mrs.KMM: I'm still at the RE so I should be safe from that (for now!). But good to know going forth!

@LindsayInNY: my ultrasound at the RE was internal, but it didn't hurt or feel uncomfortable. I told DH beforehand so he was prepared lol. No Pap smear. My OB hasn't done a Pap smear either. I'm thinking because my last one was in May, and was normal?

  5. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@dc yoga bee: I haven't had a pap/annual exam since last September (so just over a year ago). DH was there are the first IUI so the internal part of it likely won't phase him. So sexy

@LindsayInNY: @Mrs.KMM: I had the full thing, too. DH wasn't asked to leave and sat next to me the whole time, lol!!

I had a pap smear and an internal ultrasound for my first appointment. For the 12 week appointment, they usually don't do an internal since the baby should be big enough to be seen. With LO, they had to do internal at one point during my NT scan. I don't know what my appointment is going to look like this time since I don't get an NT scan. I'm hoping to see the munchkin next week especially with DH attending the appointment.

Yay, I broke the news to my boss and he was actually really sweet about it and excited for me. He even told me that I could work from home when I don't have patients on my schedule, which was really nice. Usually I do have stuff on my schedule that won't allow me to work from home, but it was nice that he offered! Now I just hope all is well and I get good test results back. I am still going to do the NT scan next week (and cross my fingers it gets covered), but I won't do the accompanying bloodwork, since the genetic counselors said it would be redundant.

@78h2o: that is awesome!!! I haver been sick as much since I started working from home this week. It could also be symptoms tapering off though lol.

@dc yoga bee: So glad you are feeling a little better!!! I started throwing up yesterday afternoon and I haven't been able to stop for very long...I sort of have a migraine though, so that is probably part of it. That is actually how I ended up telling my boss. He asked if I was feeling ok and whether I had a migraine. I said yes and he asked if I had medication to take. I said, no, but I was okay. He is a doctor, so he asked if I wanted him to prescribe me something. So I decided to go ahead and tell him I was pregnant and couldn't really take anything. I thought he would be worried about me going out on leave, being less productive, etc., but he seemed genuinely happy for me and excited. After that, we walked to a meeting and he was being all overprotective of me, asking if it was ok to take the stairs, etc. It was kind of cute.

I still haven't broke the news to my boss. I've been feeling crappier this week though (9.5 weeks - still not actually throwing up though, thankfully) so I feel like I'm going to have to break the news soon.

@Mrs.KMM: I want to tell you it gets better. I started feeling better at 10.5 weeks. Today is 11 weeks, and I got sick outside while walking the dogs. I hope no one was watching out their office windows or our building! Annd I pretty much have my head on my desk, because it takes too much energy to lift it. But not to use my thumbs for hellobee lol. I'm glad I told my boss because she's been really understanding. I'm still trying to make sure I keep up with my caseload though. At least it's Friday!

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@dc yoga bee: Yeah - my crappier definitely doesn't compare to how you've been feeling. I'm glad you're on the up-swing now though and starting to feel better.

I think I haven't been helped by the fact that this has been a super busy week at work. I've been in the lab late every single day and have been running lots of time consuming, large scale experiments. So I haven't even been able to catch my breath! But I only have 4.25 hours left before I go into overtime for the week (which my boss doesn't like us to do), so today will be a short day.

@Mrs.KMM: Aw I wasn't trying to make you feel less sick. There's no comparison of crappy days here, no one deserves to feel sick! Are you off on weekends? Put those feet up! My doctor said I can take baths as long as the water isn't scalding, maybe try a warm bath!

  15. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@dc yoga bee: No worries! I didn't take it take way at all! More as I'm just thankful that my crappy isn't that bad since all and all, I've felt pretty good so far. I'm glad we can all commiserate together!

A warm bath sounds really good actually. I might have a plan for this weekend now!

@LindsayInNY: Yay! Great to see your LO again!

I am still feeling really gross. I upped the amount of Unisom I am taking and it has helped a little. Fortunately I didn't have to work today. My husband had the day off, so he is taking care of J, which is nice.

I found the baby with my Doppler this morning and got to listen to (and record) the heartbeat for a few minutes. Seemed nice and strong, so that is reassuring.

Anyone heard any good gender reveal ideas? I might be finding out before my husband, since they are going to be calling me with the Harmony results. If I can, I will try to ask them to call me back and leave a message with the gender results... but if they tell me, I want to think of how to tell DH. Also trying to think of a fun way to share that news with work and our families (once everyone knows we're expecting!).

@78h2o: When do you get results back? I've seen the balloon reveals which I thought was super cute, and the blue or pink cupcakes never go out of style!

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@dc yoga bee: they said late next week (like Friday) or early the following week. My husband is being boring...I asked him how he wanted me to tell him if I found out first and he said he just wants me to call him, lol.

@78h2o: Can you have J give/show him something? Take a picture with her eating something blue or pink?

I think we'll use P in a photo when we reveal it on FB. We'll do a private thing with just us and my parents, with DH's parents on Skype, and we'll probably do balloons. Where I work, I can have one of our employees secretly fill the box while I'm in my office.

Hello ladies! I've been keeping up with this thread, just wasn't ready to post until now.

    Location: North Carolina

    EDD: 6/10/2015

How far along: 10 weeks, 2 days

    First child? Yup!

First doctor appointment: my first appointment was 10/27. We got to see our little baby. Heart rate was good, it was measuring 2 days behind which I think correlates to when I ovulated. My next appointment is 11/24.

Any symptoms so far? Oh, the nausea. I haven't vomitted, but I dry heave all the time. I'm also tired and hungry all the time, but the nausea is at center stage.

Who have you told? DH, my in-laws, my parents, siblings, and a few close friends.

I didn't get a chance to post earlier since we were leaving to pick up LO's cake and trays for the party tomorrow. We'll be seeing a lot of our friends and family. My family knows about the baby and some of my friends do. I'm hesitant to announce tomorrow because one friend in attendance is on her last shot round of IVF. She's been trying some time for another child. I don't want to reveal that I'm pregnant. I hate seeing friends struggle with getting pregnant.

    @MamaB: Welcome!

    @LindsayInNY: June 23rd for me! Baby #1

I am back at work for the first day in a week! We have been on vacation and then I took two days to just catch up on stuff at home. It was so nice! I am ready to tell work so I can stop having to cover up my constant sea sickness. I have my next appointment Nov 26th and I will be 10 weeks then so I feel like after that I will tell them. I work for a tiny non-profit so they technically don't have to do FMLA of anything for me but I hoping for a sympathetic boss.

Hope everyone else is feeling better today!

It might just be a standard question, but I thought it was weird that at my appt on Tuesday (I was 10+4) she asked if I felt the baby yet.

Isn't that way to early to feel movement??
