Maybe it's a coincidence but I notice my queasiness has been happening on weekends. I don't know if it's cause I sleep in later and therefore have more time in between meals or what. But once I eat I just feel "off" then. Anyone have any clue why this might be?

@lindsayinny yay cute u/s pic love it my due date is now 5/23 but I'd still like to stay with all you June mamas if that's okay.
Anyone heard of the nub theory? I'm driving myself crazy with my 12 wk u/s pics. We Should know sex soon when harmony results come in but the anticipation is killing me lol. In one shot nub looks girly and in another boyish to me...
@mamab welcome and congrats !

I finally told parents (I'm paranoid and waited until the first u/s to tell) & the outpouring of love and support is overwhelming! Phew! Work also knows, because I've been sick there recently and it was so hard to hide. Parents want us to tell family at Thanksgiving (~10 weeks) but DH has a huge family with tons of aunts, uncles and cousins. Would you be comfortable telling that many people at that point in the pregnancy? Ob has no concerns at this point. Wish I wasn't such a worrier!

@mrskmm DH and I told our family few weeks ago. It's too exciting not to share! And perfect timing right around the holidays

I am 10 weeks, 3 days and I've noticed a big increase in cervical mucus this week. Is this happening to you guys?

@LindsayInNY: My OB is just going off my LMP for my due date so that puts me at June 16 if you wouldn't mind shifting me.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@MrsKMM: We're telling all if our extended families at Thanksgiving because we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to tell them all in person. So we'll be sharing at 11 weeks for some and 12 weeks for others (just based on when the various celebrations are). I'd probably still do it at 10 weeks if we weren't quite as far along so that we could do it in person.
@MamaB: Welcome and congrats!

@MrsBrewer: That's really strange that she asked you about movement so early, especially with your first! I bet she just forgot and asked you out of habit, since that's a pretty standard thing for them to ask starting about 16 weeks. I'm pretty sure I have been feeling the baby move now and then, but I think that is pretty unusual. (Interestingly, I found the baby with Doppler exactly where I'd thought I felt movement and baby moved while I was listening and I could feel/hear it at the same time... so I don't think I'm imagining it). It's very very subtle though and not even every day that I notice it. I am looking forward to when it's more obvious!
@LindsayInNY: Do you think maybe you are just less distracted on the weekend? Sometimes I find when I am busy I notice it less. Otherwise, I would think that maybe it is that you are going longer without eating. Maybe you could keep some crackers by your bed and have a few if you get up in the night to pee?? I was doing that for a little while and it seemed to help.
@hocuspocus: When are you supposed to get your Harmony results back? So exciting! I thought that maybe I saw a nub in the photo you posted that looked male, but maybe it was a leg? Hard to tell what I am looking at! Did you post it to one of the nub web forums?
@MrsKMM: Yay! Glad your parents were super supportive! I don't think the risk changes much between 10 weeks - 12/13 weeks... maybe by .05-1 percentage point? I'd probably go ahead and tell at Thanksgiving since it will be a good opportunity to tell everyone in person.
@MamaB: For me it comes and goes. I think a lot of cm is pretty normal during pregnancy, especially near the end. Fun times!

@78h2o: That's sooo exciting that you are feeling movement! I know for a fact that I haven't felt anything yet! When did you feel movement with your first??

@MrsBrewer: I can't remember, but I know it was really early...maybe 13 or 14 weeks? I'll look it up in my journal tonight. I have a video taken at 17 weeks that shows the baby kicking (visible to other people), which I remember my doctor saying was early. My daughter is so rambunctious, I'm not at all surprised.

@MrsKMM: We told a bunch of friends yesterday at almost 12 weeks. We saw the heartbeat at 9 weeks. I have my next appointment tomorrow, so I'm still worried. We'll see how tomorrow goes. My OB wasn't concerned either.

@cascademom: I am so nervous for my NT scan tomorrow!!! I hope we both have good appointments!

@cascademom: I have an appointment tomorrow too! Getting all the NT scan stuff out of the way. This is the first time I think I feel sorta calm going into an appointment. haha
grapefruit / 4770 posts
Good luck everyone with your appointments tomorrow! Mine is Friday. I guess I'm doing the NT scan. I'm still slightly confused what's covered but I think that's the standard test at 12 weeks?? I Read online that your risk factor drops to 2% once you SEE the heartbeat-not hear it. I saw mine at 6 weeks so I pray they're right.
I'm nervous since we haven't seen anything in four weeks! I was able to eat a small bowl of corn for lunch so I'm really happy I got some nutrients other than crackers and sprite. I'd like to eat something green at some point soon!
Question for the group! Will you find out the gender?!? I'm so incredibly torn. My whole life I've always said I would be team green for the surprise, but now that I've been so sick-i want to know who this is making me so ill plus it took us a while to get pregnant, and for some reason it makes me want to find out now. I also wonder if DH would feel more bonded to the baby if he knew he had a son or daughter? I told him he should feel bonded regardless knowing it's his kid, but alas I understand where he's coming from!
coconut / 8854 posts
@dc yoga bee: Aww! So glad you were at least able to eat some corn for lunch! Hopefully you will soon be able to introduce a little more food in slowly.
We will be team green for sure (for this LO and all future LO's) I love being surprised!!!
nectarine / 2148 posts
@dc yoga bee: I am not entirely sure what is or is not covered with the NT scan. I called my insurance and they said even getting and giving them the billing codes takes a couple days for me to know if it's covered. I have really good insurance so I think part of it will be covered. I also talked with the office of the OOP cost, and it wasn't too bad, I'd pay the OOP cost to know.
DH and I are team green. He likes the surprise factor of it. I am sort of on the fence about it. I don't really know if we will have more kids and I would rather not know on the first round then find out. I think the main reason for me is that it is really not important to me. It took us a while to have this baby I feel like I would jinx something. IDK, DH and I try to keep our lives simple so we aren't finding out.
bananas / 9229 posts
@78h2o: I thought it was a weekend thing but felt like crap today. Ate half my oatmeal and then decided it didn't sound good anymore. Nothing really sounded good. I hope this isn't the beginning of an ongoing thing...
@dc yoga bee: Those stats are reassuring! My RE said 5% risk after hearing the heartbeat, the internet told me it was more like 3% risk. And yet I'm still paranoid for no apparent reason. We both saw and heard the heartbeat so I hope you're right!!
We will find out the gender. I could maybe be team green but DH would never go for that!
coconut / 8861 posts
@78h2o: @Eko: I won't be getting an NT scan since the Materni21 is enough for my doctor. I hope that they use the crappy ultrasound though to show DH the baby. I'm guessing that my next big ultrasound will be the anatomy scan at 20 weeks in January sometime.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Eko: I agree! I'm not sure we will have more, so I want the surprise element now! I have really good federal insurance which I love, but it's all dependent on how it's coded I think. I'm like- just tell me the code you need people!
@LindsayInNY: I told DH when we were dating we weren't finding out! But, I do want to be sensitive to him wanting to find out. He was really supportive during the ttc and RE process but he's one of those types that doesn't complain and I'm not sure if he really did feel down and sad about the whole thing. It's the one thing he's asked for and he doesn't really get to experience much else of the pregnancy lol! As much as I want to be team green I will probably give in. I was even thinking of doing an elective ultrasound for his Christmas present that may not even be right
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@cascademom: yeah, they said I could still get the NT scan but should skip the associated blood work, since it would be redundant with the Harmony test. My OB office only does scans at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 20 weeks (with the later 2 being done w/ a better machine at the perinatal office) so I am going to do the NT even if there's a small chance insurance might reject it, since I only get to see baby 3x. They didn't have any issues with them covering it during my last pregnancy...I guess the only problem would be if they thought it was overkill along with the Harmony test...but, my doc said the NT can pick up heart problems that the genetic test cannot, so hopefully insurance will cover it! Sounds like your OB practice does more ultrasounds than just dating and 20 weeks? My DH has a bunch of meetings tomorrow morning, so I will be going by myself again. I hope I get some good pics to show him. I don't think it's even real to him yet that I'm pregnant!
coconut / 8861 posts
@78h2o: My OB does dating, NT scan (normally minus the Materni21), and anatomy scan (20 weeks in the another adjacent office). It'll be interesting if she'll use a doppler to check for heartbeat or use the crappy ultrasound there. With LO, I had an extra impromptu ultrasound to check for head placement near the end of my pregnancy out of curiosity. This time around is interesting since I'm older and a mom already.

@dc yoga bee: We are definitely finding out. Personally, I could never be Team Green. I'm too impatient and I want to start picturing ourselves with either a son or a daughter. I also only want to have to agree on 1 name, figure out circumcision stuff if needed, etc.
I don't get the whole surprise thing. To me, it is just as big of a surprise if you find out at 20 weeks versus 40 weeks!
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@dc yoga bee: I can see going both ways. There are pros and cons to both. Personally, I do think finding out gender helped make things a little more real to my husband last time around. It still took him awhile to bond, until actually a month or two after the baby was born even. We wanted all gender neutral gear, so it didn't matter there, but I think it helped my husband to think about the baby in a more concrete way as his daughter. I enjoyed being able to shop for non-gender neutral clothes and to design a more feminine nursery. In terms of the surprise - I feel like it's a surprise whenever you find out... either during pregnancy or later. Later, you have the surprise of what the baby looks like, it's size, etc.... plus there's always that tiny chance that the gender prediction could be wrong... so to me, gender still seems like a tiny bit of an unknown until birth.
I was present for the birth of my nephew when my sister was team green. It didn't feel too much different from the birth of my daughter. I think it was a pretty magical experience for both of us. Both of us asked to know the gender of our babies, even though I had a pretty good idea ours was a girl. I guess this long ramble is just to say I think it will be awesome whatever you decide!!!

@78h2o had the blood drawn last weds. They said the results can take up to 2 weeks to come in!! Longest two weeks ever lol. Have you gotten your results yet? I posted my ultrasound pics on a site called in gender and on the baby center ultrasounds board (I'm obsessed, I know) DH and I would love a boy first but I have a feeling this little munchkin is a girl. Here's another u/s pic where nub is more visible and looks kinda girly to me......
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@hocuspocus: yeah, that pic looks more girly, but there still is a little bit of an angle, so I'm not sure. Nope, I haven't heard back about mine...I got my drawn Tuesday morning...I'm thinking the earliest I might hear is Thursday or Friday, with the following Mon or Tues being the most likely. I read on the Harmony website that they promise to get the results back to the doctor within 7 business days, but I wonder how long it takes them to get the sample in the first place? And then for the doctor to call? How are you going to tell your DH the results?

Has anyone been hit with cravings? Mine have officially kicked in, and they're kind of weird. It's anything orange flavored!! Oranges, clementines, orange dum dums, and especially orange Popsicles!!
nectarine / 2148 posts
@MrsBrewer: My aunt had orange cravings with her pregnancy a couple years ago. Last week I had some salt cravings, but nothing too obnoxious yet. My stomach has been to uneasy to really have cravings yet, I think.

@MrsBrewer: no cravings yet. I'm hoping I crave ice cream, because I sure do miss coldstone!

No real cravings yet. Just eating a lot of carbs to get through morning sickness. I craved oranges with LO. A bunch of us who had boys in that due date board craved oranges.

@Eko: so funny that there are others with orange cravings!
@cascademom: DH will be happy to hear that!! He wants a boy so bad!! hahaha
coconut / 8861 posts
@MrsBrewer: Boys are fun. LO didn't get a nap on Saturday because he got baptized and had a party. Right before bedtime routine, he ran around our kitchen island for 20 minutes having fun. It was hilarious to watch.

@cascademom: @78h2o: @Eko: good luck tomorrow on your appointments!
@dc yoga bee: I have an appointment on friday as well. We will definitely be finding out the sex. I am so bad about stuff like that. We are 3 to 5 hours behind things on tv or even dumb shows like dancing witht the stars. I cant sit through the whole 2 hours to find out the winner I look it up online because I am so impatient. Whoever is team green I give major props to
Still just surviving over here no major cravings with my son it was an insane amount of eggs. He hates eggs now so im going to try and chill when I do get a crazy craving of something

@MrsBrewer: DH wanted a boy first, but doesn't like any boy names. Other than Dallas. And I don't see us naming our boy that if it's a boy. He's adamant though!

@78h2o I'm not very creative so probably just going to be boring and tell him. How are you a planning on telling your DH?
@mrs.brewer I've been craving oranges too! Mostly those little cuties I think they're called? Also any red meat & veggies and lemons with salt really weird.
