@78h2o: I texted DH right away and called my parents. So they know. I don't know if we'll do a gender reveal. I'm thinking that the Christmas card reveal would be nice.

@78h2o: Your pic is sooo cute!!! DH and I don't really care either way. I am leaning towards a boy and DH thinks it'll be a girl. I guess one of us will win out. haha.

@cascademom: That is so great that your appointment went well and that you found out you were having a boy already!

@LindsayInNY: The hormones are crazy! I haven't been crying, but am breaking out like mad. I almost live in legging or tights now. It's just a lot more comfortable than jeans.

I had another appointment with my new ob office. My new doctor is really nice and I made a solid choice. I didn't get a picture on this one, but it looked like the baby was waving at us during the u/s, it was really cute. We have to wait for a couple weeks to get our genetic test results and to have the NT scan. Should get it back all at the same time.

@cascademom: I am going to try to wait until Thanksgiving to tell my parents. My Dad still doesn't know I'm pregnant. I think he might be a little miffed that my mom found out before he did, so I think I might send him a picture of LO on Thanksgiving that says, "I'm thankful I'll be getting a little sister/brother in June". That way he'll know something before my mom and they'll be "even", lol! My in-laws don't know yet and likely won't be that happy about it (they'll be excited about the grandchild part, but stressed thinking it's bad timing/too much for us to handle). I think we might tell them via email if the genetic results come back ok, but not tell them gender... so they have time to adjust to the news and to tell their family, including DH's cousin that's been TTC forever. Then maybe we will do a gender reveal on Thanksgiving (the cousin isn't going to be there)...I might put a sticker on the back of the plates or fill cupcakes or something.

    @cascademom: congrats on your boy!

@78h2o: sticker on the back of plates- that's a great idea!

I don't have a feeling one way or another. I always assumed we would have a big first. If I decide not to be team green I was thinking of getting an elective ultrasound for a Christmas present. I'll be 16 weeks the week before Christmas. He was shocked we wouldn't find out until end of January, but I'm not sure it's worth it to find out in December? But, it would make a nice Christmas gift

    Hi there!
I'm a long time lurker, very occasional poster, but I'm pregnant with #2 and wanted to join the fun!
Our due date is June 11. This will be our second. Our daughter will be 3 when the baby arrives. I'm trying to remember what else I am suppose to say! We live on Long Island. We are definitely finding out the gender. We told our immediate families immediately and have been slowly telling our friends and extended family. I've been feeling terrible, and their joy and excitement has been really helpful. Yay!

@cascademom: Congrats on your boy! Those 2 boys will have so much fun together growing up!

@78h2o: I really want to have at least 1 boy and 1 girl (hoping to have 3 kids) but I don't really care what order they come in. DH and I both have a gut feeling that this one is a boy though (I guess we'll see at our anatomy scan!).

@Mrs.KMM: I have a few longtime friends with two boys, so that gives me hope. In my family, there's very few girls to begin with. It's about the same with DH's too. We both knew that another boy was probably going to happen too. I'm getting cool with it.

Ugh! So DH has informed me that he can tell (both visually and through coping a feel) that my boobs have already gotten bigger. I suspected this since my bras aren't fitting well but didn't think it would be enough to visually see when I am naked. When you are a natural F cup pre-pregnancy, I'm not so sure this is a good thing.

Oh, and yesterday and today my nipples have been so erect that you can see them through both my bra and a winter sweater. Hello headlights! It's a really cute look!

So, it's freezing outside and in my office. I went to Walgreens and bought tights to hold me over until a Target trip. I bought XL. These things are huge. So huge that I'm wearing it as an over the belly thing. I hated over the belly with LO, but I'll wear it this way for a day to stay warm in the office.

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs.KMM: I totally feel you! I already upgraded a full cup and now feel like I may need to go up a cup size again soon! I am pretty sure any weight gained has been in my breasts.

I think we have already touched on this subject sporadically, but have you told work yet? I was planning on holding off, but I feel like people are looking at me funny and I have had three u/s and my doctor told me at this point my chances of miscarrying are super low, basically second trimester low. I am wondering if I should just get it over with.

@Mrs.KMM: have u seen pitch perfect? I alway told my husband with my first pregnancy that I felt like Baloney Barb. The nipples and areolas get so big! I hope ur boobies dont get too much bigger on u.

  17. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

    @BabyMats: YES! Such big nips!

@Eko: I haven't told anyone at work yet. Then again we haven't told family yet either, LOL. I was going to wait until after the new year when I have my 2014 review but I may have a new manager next year so I don't know. I feel mostly great so I've just been waiting to see how I look?

  18. MrsBrewer

I still don't have any changes in my boobs yet at all! No nipple changes, they aren't bigger or anything. Just sore...

  19. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@LindsayInNY: Yeah I was going to wait too, but most of my family knows already now. I have started to notice that people are looking at me funny and I feel like I am starting to get bigger, although it's nothing crazy noticeable. When I had my u/s yesterday, basically my doctor said that my chances now of having a miscarriage are basically the same as hitting the second trimester. And also getting the genetic testing and NT scan results won't make a difference in my 'planning'. It just feels weird keeping secrets.

  20. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@Eko: I agree. The secret keeping is definitely tough at times! Post your bump/blump on the other thread so we can judge

@Eko: my bloat was out of control at 8 weeks and my job knew. I'm glad I went on and told them, because when I needed to not drive, they offered full blown telework. If they hadn't known what was going on, I know they wouldn't have been as accommodating. Today I'm what 11w5d <-- say wha!? And the ladies who, always take my order at subway were staring at my tummy. I should take a bump pic to see where I'm at, I haven't taken one since 8 weeks!

@LindsayInNY: love it!! Okay I put on my "bump outfit," and took a pic. I'll upload it in a min! Gotta change back lol

  26. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@Eko: I haven't told work. Partly because only our immediate families and 1 close friend even know at this point so it feels sort of weird to tell work before extended family and other good friends. And partly because I don't even know how to bring it up! I never really had to deal with morning sickness / throwing up at work and I've only had 1 doctors appointment so far so it has been easy to hide.

  27. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@BabyMats: Haha! Yes! And now I want to go watch that movie now...

  28. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs.KMM: Yeah I definitely understand. I have had sooo many appointments so far and I already scheduled like another three appointments within the next month! Just seems like a lot to ask off for without saying something.

  29. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@Eko: I would go ahead and tell your work. I feel so much better that my work knows now. I'm a terrible liar, and I kind of felt bad covering it up. I think at this point the risk isn't really going to change much.

  30. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@78h2o: Thanks! Yeah my doctor said the same thing. I have had two different ultrasounds where we saw the heartbeat, so she didn't seemed concerned at all.

  31. rpparker

@Eko: As long as everything is fine at my next appointment in a week then we will tell the rest of family at Thanksgiving and I'll tell my work the Monday we return from Thanksgiving break. I am hoping my boss will be in a good mood from being off a few days! I think I mentioned it before but I work for a super small non-profit (6 employees) so I am nervous! We don't have any type of maternity leave policy and are exempt from FMLA so I am planning on coming into the meeting with a plan!

  32. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@LindsayInNY: I am not a gold member so I can't post on the board. I have a weird bump going on I decided. lol.

I did tell the partners at my firm and they were all really nice about. I work in an office that is mainly females, so everyone is really understanding. One of the partners even mentioned that I could take a longer leave than the standard amount they allow, which is 3 months, so I thought that was really nice.

  33. LindsayInNY

@Eko: Post it here!! Glad telling work went well! I still have some time before I tell here...

So I gave in and am wearing a pair of maternity pants today. They definitely still need pulling up but really not much more than my regular jeans with a belly band. And it is so much more comfortable than sitting around with my pants unzipped.

  35. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs.KMM: I have given up on jeans all together. I am glad though that you are feeling more comfortable!

I was starting to look around at different maternity shirts and noticed that PinkBlush maternity is having a sale on some of their shirts, all $15! Today is the last day. Medium sizes were hard to come by, but I found a couple things I liked.

@Eko: maybe we can get a non gold bump thread going for our month? I still block my face out even in gold because I'm cray cray like that lol

I've been super bloated, only thing that feels comfy are leggings. I'm going to invest in more. I'm muffin toppin in all my jeans, need to get a belly band.

  40. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@hocuspocus: Yeah - I really need to get some more leggings. I've been wearing mine so often I feel like I need to mix in jeans every so often so that people don't think I'm just wearing the same clothes. Which is why I broke out the maternity jeans today.
