@pastemoo: Good memory! Yes, I was on the spring babies 2012 board and I totally remember you, but as I'm not a super active poster, I always assume people don't remember me

@Contemplating: Welcome! Sorry to hear MS is starting for you, hopefully it is short lived and mild!

@MrsDragon: I'm so sorry. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way.

@Mrs. Pink: glad to hear your hcg recovered and that you had a good ultrasound!

@MrsKRB: yay for seeing the HB!! and congrats on graduating from your RE!

@Alba4: when is your first appointment?

@Wishingforviolet: what makes you think you might have multiples? I wonder that too because I did Clomid + trigger but I don't have any other symptoms/reasons for suspecting multiples. I guess I'll find out next week!

@Dr. Pepper: that's a great doubling time! keep us posted with your hcg levels tomorrow!

@runnerd: yay for beta draws, when do you go in for your first one?

@pastemoo: thank you! I hope I don't get nausea either but in a way the absence of nausea is slightly worrying too... lol

@Maddux41506: welcome and let us know how your first appointment goes!

I'm currently waiting for my 4th beta result. I went in this morning and I should have the results by this afternoon. I'm thinking this is my last beta because my first ultrasound is next wednesday! I'll be 7w3d.

    Hello Mommas

    Location: Georgia

    EDD: June 19, 2016

How far along: 5w3d (according to + ovulation test)

First child? Yes! We are very excited

First doctor appointment: I went in for bloodwork on Oct. 7 (10 DPO) my HCG was at 13. Went back at 17 DPO on Oct. 14 (first sit down OB appointment) was told to expect my levels to be around 500, they were 1200. So, I am excited about that. First ultrasound is on Oct 30. Counting the days. Husband is saying twins (they run in my family on both sides)

Any symptoms so far? Uh, yes. I am exhausted. It seems instead of feeling hungry, I feel sick. When I eat it goes away. Little dizzy. And CANNOT sleep. Finally picked me up some Tylenol PM. Slept like a baby last night.

Who have you told? Just a handful of people. Planning to announce at Christmas. Unless I am super sick & feel like I cannot hide it, we will then announce at Thanksgiving.

    @Maddux41506: welcome fellow Chicago Momma!

I moved my appt up to this Friday (instead of next Tuesday) after reading some pretty bad reviews of the Dr I was scheduled with. I'm new to the area and the practice was recommended by a friend, so hopefully the other Drs are ok Counting down to Friday now! So nervous/ excited.

@Mmcalli, @Contemplating: Hi!!! Good to see you girls here!

@Starlitsky: DP has twins on his side, but I don't think I'm having twins but the thought has crossed my mind. I think I just enjoy saying to DP that he should brace himself for 2 haha.

Mrskrb: I AM!! I've been eating so much. We eat quite healthily, but I caved and got some hot chips the other day. I felt so guilty that I asked DP to make me two sandwiches for lunch the next day. He looked at me like I was nuts. I'm a small eater normally, but recently if I don't eat I get hunger pains. My boss thinks I've got worms >_<

Mcd919: I ended up seeing a different doctor to my usual, and I instantly really liked her. I'm thinking about asking my practice if I can switch. I hope you end up with a lovely doctor!

I'm a little jealous that everyone has betas to compare. I'm still a little confused that they didn't run mine. I guess I just have to believe that everything is okay and hopefully I should be able to see my little one soon.

@Wishingforviolet: My DH has twins on his side too! hehe it is funny joking about what we'd do if there are twins in there. About betas, I think people don't normally get them unless you've had previous loss or maybe if you're AMA? I'm AMA and seeing an RE so I think that's why I got the initial 2, and then I requested an additional 2 for peace of mind to get me through the 3 week wait for my first ultrasound. Just 2 more weeks for you until you get your scan, right?

@MrsKRB: I am definitely more hungry and have already gained 5 lbs.

@MCD919: ooh so exciting that your ultrasound got moved up! Hoping you get a dr that you like!

@MrsKRB: I've been starving, too! I have to eat every 2-3 hrs or I get a nauseous/ ravenous feeling.. Similar to my pregnancy w DS. Blah!

@MMcAlli: Welcome! and same, if I don't eat, my hunger is pain/nausea//vomitting (though sometimes I get those when not hungry). Good luck with it. I've been recommended a million things (saltines, frequently, or small frequent meals, ginger, lemon ginger tea, etc/etc/etc)

So, does anyone else have to pee so much it wakes them up at night? This never happened to me the last times!@MrsKRB:

@starlitsky: or if you think you are having a miscarriage. i got betas my first pregnancy and lost it... the whole reason i got them was i could tell it was coming.

@pastemoo: I'm sorry about your first pregnancy loss. How could you tell it was coming?

Speaking of beta, I got my results for my 4th beta: 35,332. 1 week ago it was 6,412, which means the doubling time was 68 hours. I read that betas have a slower doubling time once it's over 6k, so I think I'm ok?

Hey ladies! Hope you all are feeling well. I had my first ultrasound today. My due date is officially June 1st. Baby looked Great with a HB of 150bpm. I am a little nervous because they found an 8cm cyst on my ovary. I'll go back in 2 weeks for a follow up ultrasound. Trying to avoid dr. Google lol. Anyone have experiences with this either pregnant or not? The tech said its not dangerous for baby, but I still worry about the pregnancy but also my health in general. Hopefully it disappears on its own.

@catomd00: I just clicked on this thread by accident, but saw your post about the cyst and thought I would chime in. I had a large cyst on one of my ovaries that was seen at my first ultrasound. They did one or two more extra ultrasounds to check on it, but it caused no troubles at all for me or the pregnancy.

  24. catomd00

    grapefruit / 4418 posts

@jhd: thank you so much for sharing. That makes me feel better! Did it grow at all or dissolve on its own?

  25. jhd

    coconut / 8079 posts

@catomd00: I am pretty sure it must have shrunk on its own. It didn't cause any trouble and honestly I just forgot about it after they stopped checking on it! My OB said sometimes they show up on the side you ovulate and then grow with the pregnancy hormones. Since it was a regular shape she wasn't worried. But she did tell worst case scenario (very very rare) if she had to she could remove it and it wouldn't harm baby. I don't mean to scare you by saying that, but it was reassuring to me at the time that even worst case scenario she was very confident it would all be okay. LO is 17 months and totally fine!

  26. catomd00

    grapefruit / 4418 posts

@jhd: not scaring me at all! Unfortunately my doc had left for the day so I'm going to worry until I talk to her. I had a suspicion that I did ovulate from the same side that cycle so hopefully that's all it is and all will be well!

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

@starlitsky: incredible pain. actually now that i now both, it hurt more than labor. well pitocin augmented labor, anyway.@catomd00: the corpus luteum sometimes looks like a cyst and "lives" the first 12 weeks. try not to worry, you'll get follow up later. pretty much what runnerd said.

@Maddux41506: Welcome! I'm a Chicago girl too but live in England now - Chicago will always be my true home though!

@pastemoo: Yes, definitely! Will be nice to have another momma here who is also in the throes of threenager moodiness! Does your LO suspect anything yet? Mine has no idea...

    @MMcAlli: Welcome!

@Wishingforviolet: This is my third baby and the only time I had to have betas drawn was during my second pregnancy when my dates weren't lining up with what the midwives thought the dates should be. Long story short, I have long cycles (6 - 7 weeks) so I was measuring two weeks behind what my LMP would have suggested, but in line with a typical cycle for me, so my GP ordered betas. Other than that though, I wouldn't have been able to have them (at least not without paying for them!)

@catomd00: Great to hear your baby was looking well! I had a cyst on one of my ovaries too (corpus luteum) that they said was perfectly normal, and sure enough, it went away on its own and caused no issues. Hoping the same for you!

Does time feel like it's going so slowly for anyone else? I can't believe I'm only 4.5 weeks - I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday but it feels like forever ago! This is most definitely our last baby though so I'm trying to savour every little moment. Current moments I'm savouring - POAS every morning to make sure the line is getting darker. It's weird to think that after this baby, I will never be taking a pregnancy test again (I hope! I don't think I could manage four!). Bizarrely bittersweet moment....

@Ree723: so slow!! Everyone says pregnancy flys by, and it's just draaaaging for me.

@MRSKRB : Uhhh. I don't think I have ever been this hungry. My husband & I are pretty healthy people and I have never been a large portion eater. Boy has that changed. I have learned, though, if I eat too much I don't feel to good. So I have been trying to not go too crazy. Learning as we go.

@Starlitsky: Thank you, I am glad I got a invite. I was so bored & wanting some people to talk to. Your betas are looking good, you're right I don't think they double as fast once they get that high. Only 7 days till your u/s.

@WishingforViolet: I am glad we are all here. I am not sure as to why my doctor took my betas? This is my first pregnancy so I am new to this. After I got my +FRER I called to make an appointment with my OB & they asked me to come in just for labs & then they would make me an appointment for the following week for more labs & to talk with my OB.

@Pastemoo: I'm not sure which is worse, feeling like you are going to throw up all day or throwing up all day. My OB gave me several different Prenatals to try, I noticed this morning on one back it said it would help with nausea, so today is my first day trying it. FX it works.

@Catomdoo: Congratulations on your U/S. I wouldn't stress about the cyst, I have heard of people who have them during pregnancy & they usually just go away. I have had a few (not pregnant) and all of mine have dissolved on their on.

@Ree723: Time is so slow, I agree. I found out two weeks ago & I feel like it's been a year. I feel like it's going to be a long pregnancy.

I have been worse & worse as the days go on. I have not actually thrown up yet, but I feel like I could all day especially when I am hungry. I'm trying to stick to bland foods because honestly nothing ever sounds good. 9 more days till I get my U/S. Oh yeah, what about bloating? any of you having this problem? By the end of everyday I have a little pooch. My husband thinks it cute, but I know it's just me not the baby considering he/she is only the size of a appleseed.

Hope you all are having a lovely Wednesday!

  33. Dr. Pepper

    apricot / 461 posts

@Wishingforviolet: I don't think it's common to run betas unless there is a history of miscarriage. At least here it isn't. Usually the doctors won't see you until 12 weeks here unless their is a previous history of problems. Crazy!

@starlitsky: I think those betas sound great. They slow down as they get larger. This is the website/chart I like to use. http://www.betabase.info/chart/doubling/single It looks like 68 hours is right on track.

I go in on my lunch break today to have my 3rd hCG drawn. I'll update when I know the result!

@LovelyPlum: Thanks! That's great to hear. I'm not a super regular poster, so I figure people don't remember me! We seem to have no trouble getting pregnant, its just staying pregnant we have trouble with. We had good luck with #3 and now are hoping to have good luck with #5!

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. I have my follow up u/s on November 4th. It's 45 minutes so not sure what to expect. They did say that cysts under 3cm were normal and she described mine as quite large. Praying it disappears or shrinks by next appt! I'm definitely crampy today after the exam/pap/ultrasound. Ready for the weekend!

@Ree723: YES time is going sooo slowly. I just started week 6 and I feel like it's been months since I found out. But at the same time, it doesn't feel real!

@MMcAlli: wow so you're super hungry but also super nauseated? I hope the nausea gets better for you!! I'm definitely bloated btw, I'm already looking into maternity pants.

@Dr. Pepper: thanks for that link! I read that after 6-7 weeks betas aren't that helpful anyway. I'm so ready for the ultrasound!! And yes please share your 3rd beta result with us when you find out!

@catomd00: I hope the cyst shrinks or goes away!!
