My 3rd beta results are in. Today they are 1590, up from 865.8 on Monday. Which is a doubling time of 57 hours now. Gah! Ultrasound next Thursday. So, I just need to remain calm until then.

@Dr. Pepper : Great news! My OB didn't request any betas, but my first ultra sound is next Friday. I'll only be 5 weeks +3 days. I'm surprised they want to see me so soon. Sounds like you are also having an early ultrasound. I thought they won't see a heartbeat until 6 weeks?!

  3. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@Alba4: I was able to see a heartbeat at 5 weeks + 6 days. If anything at least they can verify its not ectopic, and that there is a sac.

@Ree723: we actually told him immediately because of all the vomiting and extra cleaning help i've been asking for... and for some safety stuff lots of people had to know very early (that was hard for me!) But yes, the threenager and the not understanding that different people have different experiences and thoughts... it's funny though because i love 3 more than 2, 2 more than 1, and 1 more than baby. I am TERRIFIED of having a baby again.

@MMcAlli: good luck with the new vitamins! nausea and vomiting are no fun.@Dr. Pepper: no worries. is that your last beta check?

Thanks for the warm welcome! Good to see some familiar names!

Bloating was one of my first signs... I already need stretchy pants and waist band expanders! Any pressure on my tummy makes me feel ill. I also need to eat constantly, which is tough as hunger feels like nausea.

I have an over time shift on Saturday, so working a 6 day week with only 1 day off... I voluinteered for it before I knew I am preganant. The money is good but I am so tired and it is only Wednesday.

My next appointment is the 3rd Nov with the midwife.

@catomd00: we're due date twins the ultra sound tech also said to me I have a cyst on my right ovary, when dr saw it he said it is just the corpus lutem which is normal and that I must have ovulated from that side - which is lucky as my left tube is partially occluded. Hope you get good news too!

@Alba4: Yes! I will be 5w2d- its craziness. With my son we went in around the same time- no heartbeat. Had to go back a week later and there was a heartbeat. I assume the same thing will happen again. Hopefully there will at least be a gestational sac or something to keep me calm.

@pastemoo: Yes. I think it is my last one. My doctor ordered an ultrasound for next Thursday and didn't mention anymore betas.

Luckily for me I am going out of town this weekend with my mom for a fun shopping trip! So that will distract me from worrying all weekend.

First dr appt today, I get to stay with my family doc till 28 weeks, then to hospital OB (either OB-GYN or family med). She said I'm a good VBAC candidate, that is exciting. Didn't do doppler or anything so no confirmation of anything date wise: sticking with June 1 . Plenty of blood work and questions.

How far along: approx 4 +5

    First child? Yep!

First doctor appointment: 22/10/2015 (due to previous early mcs) Specialist appointment in a couple of weeks (ongoing treatment).

Any symptoms so far? VERY tired, nauseated (particularly AFTER eating), no appetite, heartburn, sensitive teeth, occasional stretching pains and headaches, nose of a bloodhound, sore boobs, waking at silly o'clock unable to sleep anymore...

Who have you told? The Doctor, no one else - not even told hubby yet!

Hello lovely ladies, very happy to be part of this group - hoping I can stay in it with sticky bean! It wasn't until I filled in that intro info that I realised how many symptoms I actually have! A quick Q for the group - my progesterone is 43 - does anyone know if that's good around 4-5 weeks?! Doctor couldn't advise (not very knowledgeable on pregnancy!)

  13. runnerd

    pear / 1593 posts

@Madyetbeautiful: welcome! 43 is great! My doctor supplements if you are below 18.

  14. runnerd

    pear / 1593 posts

So I got my first beta back. HCG is 450, which they said would be consistent with 4-6 weeks, and I think I'm 4w3d. Get my next one done Mon. Progesterone was 44 but that's meaningless because I started supplements the day I got my BFP! I am so disconnected from this pregnancy - my heart just won't get invested at this point.

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@runnerd: I'm sorry your hcg is great though!!

@Madyetbeautiful: welcome and congrats! You do have a lot of symptoms, I'm 7.5 weeks and still don't feel pregnant!

Thanks. Just nervous of following the same path as previously, so completely understand the fear of getting attached Runnerd. Hoping taking low dose asperin and extra folate this cycle will make a difference (fingers crossed). Is anyone else getting stretchy kind of feelings 'down there'? I'm trying not to freak at every little twinge, but it's tricky!
Am interested in hearing your stories - e.g. how/when did/will you tell partners/family/friends?

@MrsKRB: Thanks for keeping up with that list. We are getting a lot of new mamas! I bet we are getting close to the end though.

I think Hazel27 and Ree723 have the same due date two days after me? I wasn't sure if Hazel27's was supposed to be the 23rd or something since she is listed before me. Honesty, I don't know how you keep track!

@Madyetbeautiful: yep! Weird cramps are about my only symptom. I think it's round ligament pain, even though I thought it was too early for it, it's exactly what I'm feeling. My Dr said it's very normal because the uterus is growing to fit our little beans

  22. Mrs. Peanut

    apricot / 347 posts

    @MrsKRB: You're doing a great job though!

I also have had cramping almost every day. It almost always feels like my period is about to start, but it never gets more intense. Obviously no bleeding either so far (thank goodness). My boobs are sore too. I'm just trying to count my blessings about not having morning sickness (and try not to worry if it's a bad sign).

  23. pastemoo

@Madyetbeautiful: Welcome!@runnerd: that's ok. sometimes it takes time. Hug.@Madyetbeautiful: i got lots of stretchy/twingy/crampy feelings. @Mrs. Peanut: do mamas ever wait till 2nd tri to join online groups?

  24. Mrs. Peanut

    apricot / 347 posts

@pastemoo: I'm not sure. I suppose they could. For me, it's nice to talk about it with anonymity because I'm not ready to tell the public yet. I'm sure not everyone shares my opinion. Maybe others don't even find the bee until later.

  25. runnerd

    pear / 1593 posts

Yep, same as everyone else, lots of mild cramps and feelings in the pelvic area - completely normal!

I also have sore boobs and queasy feeling that comes and goes, but at this point it's hard to tell what's a real symptom and what's do to my prog supps.

  26. Madyetbeautiful

    coffee bean / 30 posts

It's really comforting to hear that others are having similar symptoms - every time I feel a twinge down there, I'm nervous that cervix might be opening and it be a repeat of past experiences! So far so good though.

On a side note, I'm sat in the living room and can smell the cat's food in the kitchen!! Actually asked DH what meat he was cooking! Thankfully no sickness as yet, otherwise pretty sure that would be major trigger.

  27. pastemoo

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

@runnerd: do they tell you about the side effects of the progesterone?

  28. pastemoo

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

I feel so bad complaining but at the same time I feel like I'm coming apart at the seams and if I don't let it out I 'll break. I can't study enough because I'm sleeping. I can't keep up with my son because I'm puking. I can't focus on school because I haven't eaten enough. I've done this before but I feel like I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

I had my appt on Friday and it went really well! I was seen at a little over 7 weeks since I have a history of miscarriage. New doctor, first time seeing a male OB, but he was super nice and spent lots of time explaining how the practice works and answering Qs. The little bean looked great on ultrasound (cue tears), with a strong HB according to the Dr. He didn't measure it bc he said it can be harmful at this early stage (I've never heard this before and had it measured at 6.5 wks with DS)? Anyway, he said all looks good, so I'm breathing a *little* easier. Here he/she is!

  30. pastemoo

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

@MCD919: Yay! That is very exciting! I wonder what he means about measuring. Looks like he measured it to 7w0d in the first pic?

@pastemoo: in sorry you're sick. I totally get it. I'm not handling it okay this time at all. DD has been watching wayyyyy more TV than I would like and thankfully she eats well At my in laws bc dinner has been a mess. DH has been great stepping up but it's hard for him to do it all alone. Hopefully this will pass soon!! Hang in there!

  33. MCD919

    kiwi / 659 posts

@pastemoo: oh he was referring to measuring the heartbeat, not length. But I hadn't heard before that getting the bpm of the heartbeat early on could potentially be harmful... Guess I should've asked for more info!

  34. pastemoo

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

@MCD919: it is controversial if it matters or not, i think

@MCD919: ooh your ultrasound looks great!! Thanks for sharing!

Is anyone else experiencing weird sleep patterns? I'll fall asleep early and then wake up around 1-2 am and not be able to go back to sleep for a while.

In other news, my first ultrasound is on Wednesday! I'm both nervous and excited!!

  37. catomd00

    grapefruit / 4418 posts

@MCD919: I had an abdominal us at 8 weeks and they measured the hb buy she said it was really difficult at that stage bc it's so small.

  38. catomd00

    grapefruit / 4418 posts

@starlitsky: yes the preg-Somnia is the worst! Especially with a toddler who doesn't always sttn! I've been passing out around 7 and DH has been putting DD to bed, then I naturally wake up later and can't go back to sleep.

@Contemplating : How was work? I bet you're exhausted today.

    @Runnerd: Your levels look great!

@MRSKRB: You're lucky, I am 6 w 1 d today & I feel so pregnant. Well maybe not pregnant, just not normal. I am not enjoying it at all. I hope after this 1st trimester is up I will feel like myself.

    @MCD919 : U/S looks great! Congratulations.

@PASTEMOO: I feel ya. My husband & I tried for so long, now I'm actually pregnant & I am not enjoying it one bit. I am exhausted & sick all day everyday. I am ready for this trimester to end & hope it takes away all this sickness with it.

@STARLITSKY: I never knew I could be so exhausted but not sleep. It's so crazy. My doctor told me to take some Tylenol PMs a couple times a week. They are amazing.
Can't wait to see & hear how your U/S goes Wednesday. Mine is Friday.
