@Mrs. Champagne: haha thanks! I'm glad Target was able to indulge my crazy and had mustaches you could decorate pumpkins with. And they were only $1 for a 7 pack!

Hey March Moms to be!
Congrats on the new baby boys & girls! We found out yesterday that we are also expecting a GIRL!
@matador84 - As far as Nursery... we live in the NYC area and have a small 1 bedroom apartment so like most New Yorkers we will be very creative with space. We plan on buying a house within the next year or so but until then we will be creating a temp. nursery out of our walk in closet in the bedroom of our apartment. Taking off the door, painting, adding wall decor and shelves along with a mini pack & play crib with bassinet that easily pulls in and out of the closet. Hey you gotta do what you gotta do but at least we will be close to the baby and make sure it's safe.

I also was curious if any Pregnant March Moms are dressing up this HALLOWEEN?!
If so, what is your costume?! I hope you all post pictures of your costumes, I'd love to see your dressed up baby bumps!
My husband and I are not doing anything crazy creative but I did order these two Pregnant Mom & Dad Skeleton shirts from Etsy.

We plan on wearing our shirts and dressing in all black. I will paint Skull Faces on us as well. At least it's something I guess, ha.

@debbiei8: Cute Announcement!! Boys are pretty awesome. :))
@BronxvilleBump: Congrats on your coming little girl! BTW I love your shirts! DH and I will probably wear our similar skeleton hoodies that I ordered from Etsy. N is supposed to be Sully but I am not sure that will work so he may go in his skeleton jammies!
I love seeing all these announcements! To all the ladies that are Team Green I can't wait to see what you guys are having. You guys are way stronger then me!! I couldn't just wait to find out, it would drive me completely crazy!

I broke down yesterday and bought the Snoogle! I was hoping to put it off as long as possible but my sleep the past week has been atrocious and I need to try something! The first night was great but switching sides is quite an ordeal to get readjusted. Anyone else have one yet?
@BronxvilleBump: Congrats on baby girl! Very cute pic.
Those shirts are adorable! We're not doing anything pregnancy related for Halloween but I think we'll be dressing up in thrown together costumes to answer the door.

@Fussygal I LOVE the Snoogle! I bring it with me everywhere!! Parents, Trips & recently a Wedding!
Although I agree it takes some time to adjust to. I sometimes find myself so twisted in it that it's hard to make a quick dash into the bathroom. It's all worth it though, I can't sleep without this darn pillow!
persimmon / 1339 posts
I bought a body pillow but I haven't started using it yet. I am usually only getting up once a night to pee so I think my sleep is still relatively good. WAY better than in the 1st tri, anyway!
I think I've started to feel some little nudges from outside - when I watch TV at night I sit with my hand perpetually on my lower belly and last night I'm sure I felt something. But my husband said he still can't.
For those of you with pets, are they crazy attached to you at the moment? We have a kitten that is about 18/19 weeks old now and she is constantly wanting to lay on my belly. She isn't a big purrer but as soon as she gets comfy on my tummy she purrs like a maniac, whether I'm petting her or not! It is SO CUTE. I really hope our cats are loving and gentle with the baby....it scares me that they might be aggressive or dangerous with them
pomegranate / 3580 posts
@ScarletBegonia: aw, have you felt movement from the inside yet? Having DH feel will be so awesome! I haven't felt either yet but I'm waiting (not so patiently!).
It's funny how pets sense things! My small dog has learned to jump over my belly instead of walking on it. The first few weeks after the BFP I would put my arms over my belly and now he's learned to just jump - so cute!

@ScarletBegonia: yes on the pets! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and they're all acting crazy around me. They won't leave me alone!

@fussygal: Yes I've felt flutters and little pops but not with any regularity. I'm starting to notice it more often now when I'm relaxed...like I'll feel nothing all day,but when I get home, eat dinner and sit on the couch it will start up (especially if i've had a sugary treat! Baby is already a sugar addict like his/her mother

@Dandelion: Glad my Vicky isn't the only one! My older cat couldn't care less - in fact he seems to have grown more attached to my husband since I've been pregnant!
How were your dogs and cats with your babies? Did you have them (or other animals when your little ones were very little? Any tips on assuring harmony between the humans and animals?
watermelon / 14206 posts
@ScarletBegonia: of the animals I have now, only one cat was around when Ds was born 6 years ago and she was fine. I don't have any worries about the other 3. Cats don't care about babies and my dogs are great listeners. They're a lab and a golden retriever and they're great with ds so I don't think there will be any problem.
If you feel you need to create more harmony just don't yell at the animals for being close...just redirect and say "good kitty." You don't want them to associate the new comer as something negative.

@BronxvilleBump: congrats!
@Dandelion @ScarletBegonia: I took Mack (our dog) for his annual vet exam/shots and he was the most nervous I have ever seen him. He was shaking a ton and kept running back and sitting in front of me. Normally he likes the vet (especially when he has treats) but he wouldn't go anywhere near him today. I mentioned that I was pregnant and wondered if that's what was wrong with him and the vet said it could definitely be part of it. Otherwise my boys aren't acting all that different towards me. Jasper (our cat) has become more cuddly with DH, but he has always preferred DH to me.

Anyone else feel like their gaining all the weight in their butt? Geez! If this keeps up, I won't fit in my maternity pants! (and I workout 3x/week) womp womp
watermelon / 14206 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: I am pretty much all belly, but when I was pregnant with S, we were out to dinner with my inlaws. My MIL exclaimed, "Oh! You are getting a nice booty with your belly! Most women wish for a butt like that!" I wanted to kill her. She has zero filter and I let her know I wasn't amused, even though she was like, "what? it's a compliment!" Thankfully, DH shut her up.

@BabyBoecksMom: I am pretty much all belly. I am afraid that my thighs or butt or hips are going to move/ get too big for my really cute maternity pants.
I have to say I am jealous of anyone with a pronounced baby bump. I barely have a bump! People constantly tell me that I barely look pregnant.... I was hoping since I was thinner this time that I would show faster plus this is baby #2, that means I should show faster too right? I know that my little guy is growing on track and everything is fine but I still get a little sad. On the other side of things I have finally gained 1 pound. <------ Bonus!

@BabyBoecksMom: ugh yes, my butt and thighs are growing faster this time than last. I'm trying to stay active but man I've already gained 15 lbs!
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
@Dandelion: Dang! I would have tried not to slap her
@MrsRcCar: I don't get a big belly when I'm pregnant. Even when I was 6 months pregnant, people still thought I was barely in my 2nd trimester. I'm almost 19 weeks now w/ #2 and still barely have a bump.
@Mrsjets: I'm right there with you! The weight and the thighs came so much faster this time. I don't remember expanding like this until my 3rd trimester last time. boooo
pomegranate / 3580 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: I'm mostly belly but I feel like my thighs are a tad bit bigger, too. I think I finally gained weight this week so I'm interested to see where it decides to distribute itself... Lol

I think I've felt liiiiitle tiny kicks the past few days. Kinda like little 'pops' and I have to be really still to feel them I just ate a bunch of Halloween candy so maybe that will get it all crazy so I can feel more - lol
persimmon / 1273 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: Jumping in from the March/April border to commiserate. I'm 18 weeks, barely showing, and I think all the weight I've gained (15lbs or so) is in my butt and hips. I am pretty healthy as far as eating/working out, but it seems that my body is hanging on to every bit of calorie it gets, bump or no.

@BronxvilleBump: cute announcement and costumes! I love the skeleton idea! I was Juno the last time I was pregnant, this year I bleach penned the Death Star on a black t-shirt since my son and husband are doing the Star Wars theme.
@ScarletBegonia: my cats do the same thing! They love to snuggle up and purr on the belly. I can't wait for him to be able to kick harder, they always got so annoyed when Cam kicked the heck out of them! We had an effortless transition with all 3 cats and the dog. The cats were cautious around him at first, one totally adopted him, the other two avoided him. The dog loved him instantly, and it was easy to deal with the dog since it took him 8-10 months to get even remotely mobile, so they were well used to each other by then.
This week I realized that I can't suck in the baby gut anymore, so I got out my old maternity clothes. Last week I went on a maternity pants buying spree since I split an old pair of capris (wah-wah!) and didn't really have good fall weather pants.
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
@gilmoregirl: Well, that makes me feel better, but I'm sorry you're have to commiserate. It definitely wasn't this way last time. I mean, I gained the same amount of weight, but I just don't remember it adding to my butt until much later. Oh well, just more motivation to eat even better from now on.

We FINALLY came out on Facebook on Halloween! I just put up a picture of DH and I. He was a lumberjack (aka wearing some of his own clothes and holding an axe ) and I was a skeleton, wearing a shirt with a skeleton baby on it. Lots of great responses from our friends.. fun to have it out in the open!!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

@lemondrop: I can't believe you're just now getting out maternity clothes! That's awesome!
@Mrs. Champagne: awww that's so fun!
persimmon / 1198 posts
@lemondrop: I agree with @BabyBoecksMom I've been in maternity pants for like 9 or 10 weeks!
I was surprised to find one of my stretchy non-maternity shirt still fits great today, so at least I have another long sleeve shirt to put into my rotation. I really need to go buy some long sleeve shirts but I'm waiting until my birthday next week since I'm pretty sure my MIL and mom will send gift cards.
@Mrs. Champagne: that's great! I can't believe you kept it a secret for so long! I finally posted a bump picture on Facebook and got lots of positive comments as well
I guess I wasn't expecting so many people to comment, it surprised me!
bananas / 9118 posts
@debbiei8: @BabyBoecksMom: lol, well the truth is that 1) being sick a lot makes things fit longer and 2) I have been able to get away with Old Navy shorts for way too long, and I live in scrubs for work, so other than yoga pants at home, I haven't needed anything until now. But now that we are having colder mornings, I need capris and jeans again

I wore a dress to work today which is DEFINITELY too small. Oooffff...i feel like i haven't taken a deep breath all day, and to top it off I'm on homework centre at school tonight which means I won't get home til after 6! Can't WAIT to unzip this dress. Guess its going to the back of the closet til the new year!

We go in on Wednesday to find out the gender and I am so freaking excited. I'm starting to feel like maybe it's a boy, but it's a slight feeling by the smallest margin. Nesting is definitely settling in and I want to get going on the nursery.
Sleep has been getting worse and I have some crazy sciatic pain going on my left side most nights I've had a super easy pregnancy this far so I guess I had to get something annoying
I'm going to talk to the doctor about it Wednesday and see if he has any recommendations on stretches or something to help it out. Anyone else have sciatic pains going on? If so, what (if anything) helped?!
@ScarletBegonia: Uncomfortable clothes are the WORST! I had that issue a few weeks ago when I wore some old non-maternity jeans.

Helloooooo Marchies!?!?!
Well I can say it now: I have officially POPPED - a big belly showed up out of seemingly nowhere about 2 days ago, and now there is no use trying to hide it. I'm 23 weeks on Saturday so I guess its a normal time to be showing this much! I was a bit of an "inbetweenie" before getting pregnant (not plus-sized, but no skinnie minnie either!), so I never thought I would have the typical round bump, I just thought my whole middle would just exapand (which is typical of how the women in my family present during pregnancy). But lo and behold, I'm round!
How is everyone??

Hi everyone! I forgot to mention that my appointment was moved up by two days and today we found out that baby is a GIRL!!!! Everything looked good and she was very active
We're so excited and can't wait to start on the nursery!

@fussygal: Congrats on finding out about your little lady! How are you going with names? My husband and I are team green and we are STRUGGLING. We can't seem to narrow our lists down at all
pomegranate / 3580 posts
@ScarletBegonia: Thanks!! We talked seriously about names the past few days and out top girl contender won out: Nora! we both love it and it's so fun to already call her by her name.
I'm so excited to find out what you team greenies are this spring! Stay strong

@ScarletBegonia: yes, isn't it awesome!?! I love having the baby belly instead of the food belly- time to break out the fitted shirts! It's also nice that the past week it's been obvious to people who I haven't told/strangers, instead of wondering if I've been eating too many cupcakes
@fussygal: Yay! Congrats on team pink, I love the name Nora! Such a sweet little profile
