@math.nerd: Congrats, welcome, it does get better, and you're totally normal not being happy about feeling like crap.

Well got my hcg back. 1635.... I guess I thought it would be higher. I don't know. Now how to wait 2 more days to repeat this.

@ChattyCathy: how far along are you? That seems high to me...
coconut / 8305 posts
@ChattyCathy: How far along should you be? I know there's a pretty large range of normal as long as its increasing/doubling like it should be.
nectarine / 2134 posts
Just talked to the NP and looks like I'm most likely back onto the August/September POAS boards HGC levels are really low (16 on Friday and 20 today), especially since I would have been 5w today. She wants me to get another blood draw on Wednesday to make sure it's not ectopic or anything else wonky like that.
Thank you for all of your support, I'll keep you posted when I talk to her again on Thursday.
Best wishes to all you ladies for a happy and healthy 9 months!!

@Bao: @runsyellowlites: Well that's the thing, I'm just not sure. Lmp was may 30. I thought I conceived around June 20, which would have made me around 5 weeks, 4 days. But according to the charts I guess I would be closer to 4 weeks... Which I can't remember dtd anywhere near when my new conception date would be. But maybe I just can't remember which is likely. Idk,

Hi everyone ! I'm cautiously joining your crew. Based on my LMP, I'm due on 3/28. I get my betas taken tomorrow AM and will repeat on Thurs. I'm only 10 DPO or so, but we are so excited for another chance for our first little one

@norcalwayfarer: thinking of you! I hope you get some good news, this has to be so rough
@chattycathy: that seems like a normal number for 5 weeks, but I think the amount increasing is what's important. Still praying for you.
@matador84: hopefully the 6 weeks goes by fast! It took a while for J to start drinking whole milk, at almost 14 months he is finally drinking and enjoying it! I still nurse before bedtime.
@runsyellowlites: I'm sooo tired too! I usually do 2 brisk walks each week day and I've skipped one since last week! I have to nap when DS naps too or I'm a zombie!
@bluediamond: aww, thinking of you! Get well soon!
@math.nerd: congrats! MS sucked with my DS so I know how it messes with your brain. Luckily I felt much better at 12 weeks and great by 14. I haven't been sick yet this time *knocks on wood*.
@futuremama: congrats!

I am freaking out a little bit...so please excuse me. I am one of those typical New York City gals who never thought she would end up married or "that pregnant chick" (now I'm both!). Forgive me for my blunt humor on the boards moms to be haha.
EDD if you have one: March 25th from LMP
When Did You Find Out?: 10 DPO from First Response (faint little line), 12 DPO from Clearblue Digital (PREGNANT) and then 13DPO blood test at the doctor! (All the morning before I was going on a big couples camping trip with 3 other couples in the mountains...yikes)
Child Number: numero uno, 1! This is me & my husbands FIRST BABY!
Where You Live: Bronxville, New York (WESTCHESTER). Right outside of Manhattan! (My home sweet home)
What kind of provider will you see?: Midwife at a Holistic Womens Health Center.
When's Your First Appointment?: This thursday! July 18th!
What kind of birth do you want?: No freaking idea. I'm still processing it all.
What You're Most Excited For: Feeling the connection with my baby and feeling it's first kick.
What You're Most Scared About: Having a hard pregnancy or being sick most of the time.
Symptoms so far: PSHH...where do I start?! Let's see... Every morning, afternoon, evening, middle of the night I want to barf my brains out. Headaches. Tummy pain and turning. Bloated. Super emotional. Sensitive to smell. Acne. Hot Flashes. Boobs are killing me! Boobs are swollen. Can't stand the smell or look of CHICKEN. Body is sore. Lazy feeling. (Please tell me it gets better!!!?)
Any fun plans for the summer (or winter)?: My husband and I travel a lot (road trips). I run my own Travel Company that supports mom & pop owned places around the United States. We have a few trips coming up and a BIG family trip (my husband's family & my family) in September and we plan to make the big announcement to everyone then. SURPRISE!
Congrats to all the MARCH mommies to be! Glad to be in the "club"!

is anyone else not having blood work?? I don't see anyone until 8 weeks! I have a dating ultra sound when I should be about 7 weeks, but no one is doing any blood work. I asked my doctor and she said "if you tell us you're pregnant, we believe you". Is it normal to not have anything done?
cherry / 148 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: I only had it because I requested it due to the cramping I was having. I was just worried. And the obgyn I was going to knew my PCOS history and knew that I didn't know when I ovulated so wanted to try and date it.
bananas / 9118 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: with my first I only did a second pee stick at the ob's, that and a new pap was it until about 10 weeks when I had an ultrasound and a whole bunch of bloodwork.
@NorCalWayfarer: crap, crap, crap! Big hugs, I'm so sorry to hear that
To the other new ladies- welcome! It sucks to feel so rotten, definitely hard to be really excited. You find ways to cope, and it gets more exciting as things progress!
I have my first appointment tomorrow before lunch, I'm nervous but haven't had much time to dwell on it since things have been crazy with work (fingers crossed for our inspection tomorrow!) and a weekend out of town. It will be interesting bringing my 18 month old along for the appointment... eek!
cherry / 148 posts
Ugh I'm pretty sure I have morning sickness at night. From like 4pm-whenever I fall asleep I feel so yucky. But I can't just sleep it off because I feel too sick to lay down. No throwing up just extremely full and heartburn and nausea and all that jazz.
clementine / 854 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: It is absolutely normal. I'm only getting betas checked because of my history of m/c. With my first two pregnancies, they were supposed to run a few tests after my 8 week appt.
clementine / 854 posts
@NorCalWayfarer: I'll be thinking of you. I've been there. I hope that you get some good news from your doc.
persimmon / 1198 posts
@Mrs. Champagne I don't have any blood work scheduled either! I specifically asked and they said they will do it at my first appointment which is August 6th (8 weeks).
@NorCalWayfarer: I'm sorry:sad:....thinking of you!
My supervisor just announced this morning that she's pregnant! I'm a little jealous that she gets to announce to everyone already! I'm guessing she's about 6-7 weeks ahead of me...she said she's due January/February. I think it's going to make it even more difficult to not tell people now! The next 7 weeks are going to drag! (assuming I can make it to 12 weeks before announcing). Mamas with older kids: when did you announce with your first?
cherry / 119 posts
I'm also super curious at what point did most people announce their pregnancy or tell their close friends/family/co-workers.
I'm extremely early and already my best friend (who is 5 months pregnant), my mom and the 3 couples that we went away with on a camping trip (the day I found out my blood test results).
Now I might need to tell my grandma because my husband and I promised her we would fly to Oregon & Hawaii with them for Christmas and I don't think that is going to happen anymore... =P Eeek!
papaya / 10560 posts
@BronxvilleBump: With my first, we announced around 12-13 weeks. I had complications at 10 weeks and some people found out because I had been in the hospital (people at work wondered where I was) but didn't announce publicly until I was out of the first tri.
Right now I am 8ish weeks and pretty visibly showing. We have told some close friends who we are around often, but not family yet. I am not really ready to tell people with this one for a while I think....at least until I'm out of first tri again.
cherry / 119 posts
@Matador84 - Wow thanks for sharing! That's amazing that you are showing at 8 weeks.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: no blood work here and I never did with my LO!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@BronxvilleBump: we told my sister but won't tell other family until 8 weeks (immediate) then extended family and friends at 12 weeks.
papaya / 10560 posts
@BronxvilleBump: Probably because I just had a baby 10 months ago! I was hugeeeeeeee with DS and I think I'll be bigger with this one.
cherry / 119 posts
You JUST had a baby 10 months ago?! WOW congrats @Matador84..you really got he baby magic going on!
bananas / 9118 posts
@debbiei8: @BronxvilleBump: with my first, my SIL and daily co-workers knew right away- I work around x-rays and anesthesia, so exposure was important to avoid. We told our parents at 7 weeks after my initial appointment, and everyone else around 10 weeks after the first ultrasound.
This time we are probably coming out of the baby closet sooner. My work bff already knows, and we have a family vacation in a few weeks and I don't think I can hide since I usually have a beer/glass of wine in hand most of the time during vacations and I have a suspicious bump already.
@Bao: I can't believe someone called you out already, at least privately ask first! Even then, you aren't ready until you are ready!
papaya / 10560 posts
@BronxvilleBump: Yup, he will be 1 year on Sept 1. Crazy and scary at the same time!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@matador84: haha I had A 10.5 months ago and I feel much bigger already too!
pear / 1699 posts
So I wake up with virtually no bump and by bedtime I look like I did at 16 weeks pregnant with J! So weird! Also, my first craving is Caesar dressing on cucumber, peppers, carrots ect.
We've already told both sets of parents, my sisters, my 2 bff's and DH's best friend. Everyone else will wait until we hear the heartbeat - probably at 12 or 13 weeks. It's nice that the people closest to me know why I'm so tired though!

@BronxvilleBump: When I was pregnant with my first, I told my mom shortly after I found out. We told others around 8-10 weeks. No big announcement until 13 weeks tho. This pregnancy a few people know but no big announce until after 13 weeks.
I have an ultrasound on July 24. We are really looking forward to getting to see this peanut.
cherry / 119 posts
@Mrsrccar Glad to know you told your mom also. My husband is kind of giving me a hard time that we get to tell my mom first but have to hold out to tell his for awhile. My mom lives in the town over from us and I talk to her everyday so it would be hard not to let her know. You must be soo excited for your ultrasound, that is so soon!
clementine / 854 posts
We have told my parents and sisters. We are going to tell his family this weekend. There is still a lot of risk, but we hope that they get to be happy with us for a while rather than just sharing bad news.
coconut / 8305 posts
@BronxvilleBump: Welcome & Congrats!!!!
We've told my mom, sister, grandma (moms side), DH's parents, and his sister... Oh & one of our pastors. I'm putting off telling my dad b/c I don't think he'll really "approve" & we're waiting to announce until we get our pics back from our photog.
With G his dad & I waited a few weeks only b/c I found out on Christmas Eve & we weren't exactly in the most ideal situation... we didn't wait for any other reason & shortly after Christmas we announced. With P we told family immediately (everyone was excited... except my dad which I didn't find out his true feelings until much later) and then announced to everyone else at 9 weeks when the bloat was giving me away.
