Hi all! I've been stalking for days and just couldn't wait for my doctor's appt to say hello!
EDD if you have one: March 12th according to my last period
When Did You Find Out?: 14 DPO, took a test at 10 and it was negative but I just knew even though we weren't trying. Took another one at 14 and I was right!
Child Number: 2, N is 8.5 months
Where You Live: Long Island, NY
What kind of provider will you see?: OB
When's Your First Appointment?: July 22
What kind of birth do you want?: my first birth was in a hospital, with an epidural, and it was a great experience. Hoping to repeat the fast and uneventful labor.
What You're Most Excited For: Giving N a sibling, seeing another face that looks like me and DH together, newborn toes.
What You're Most Scared About: Having 2 kids under 1.5!
Symptoms so far: nothing crazy, just some cramps and a little tired. Back hurts a little but may be due to my butterball son (22.5 pounds at 8.5 months!). Last pregnancy was wonderful so fingers crossed this one will be too.
Any fun plans for the summer (or winter in Aus)?: Not really...I am a SAHM so I am looking forward to spending some quality time with N. I am actually quite sad that he won't ever remember a time when he had all our love and attention. Then again, he also won't ever remember a time he didn't have his buddy younger brother/sister!

@MamaChin: Welcome & Congrats!!!
How is everyone feeling today?
I got amazing sleep last night 12 hours! P just about slept all night too! I actually woke up twice to tinkle so when I did I just scooted her over, nursed her, and then rolled her back! I felt soooooooo much better this morning! Also, the bloat is gone so I'm now positive it was the McGriddle I had yesterday. lol Otherwise I've felt pretty good!

@MamaChin: congratulations!
I would say I'm exhausted today! I sat down on the couch at 1:30 to have a glass of water. Next thing I knew I was waking up at 3:00! Guess I needed a nap

Welcome new March mamas!
Does anyone have a feeling of the sex of their baby yet? Hubs has asked me a couple times what I think but I don't have a strong feeling either way. I had a dream last night that a friend had an ultrasound machine (and knew how to use it). We looked at the baby and a box popped up saying Girl! (I know that's not how it works though haha) but then when we looked at the baby it had boy parts...so I guess that's my subconscious telling me I really don't have a feeling either way
coconut / 8305 posts
@Mrsjets: Boo pregnancy insomnia! FWIW though I'm pretty positive the only reason I slept like that is because I had been up since 4, traveled almost 300 miles, and sat in a hospital for 6 hours. I most definitely don't usually get sleep like that! lol
@debbiei8: I really don't have any feelings either way yet. I think because I just keep thinking about whether or not we're going to find out this time... I feel too conflicted to be in tuned with my gender intuition. lol

Seriously my husband and I are scared I'm having twins again. We will see! No idea boy/girl yet. Dr appt in less than a week! I was laying Down on the couch today taking a nap and id just had a milkshake. I woke up choking--acid reflux! I had it horrible with my first but don't remember it starting until way in 2nd tri. Boo!

Looks like I get to join this awesome group of March mommas!
EDD if you have one: I think it will be March 24th
When Did You Find Out?: 14 or 15 dpo
Child Number: 2!!
Where You Live: Texas
What kind of provider will you see?: ObGYN
When's Your First Appointment?: Aug 13
What kind of birth do you want?: I want it exactly the same as last time - super easy, hospital birth w/ epidural. (Of course, because I'm typing that, it means I'll have the opposite...)
What You're Most Excited For: Going through all of this again, but having a clue what I'm doing this time.
What You're Most Scared About: I had such and easy pregnancy and labor last time, so I'm worried that it won't be that easy this time.
Symptoms so far: Had a bunch of cramps so far, but nothing major.
Any fun plans for the summer (or winter in Aus)?: Not really. Just staying out of the excessive heat and humidity as much as we can

Hi Marchies
So things have been pretty good the past few days! I know at least some of my queasiness/morning sickness is down to stress about being at work, cause it always gets a lot better on the weekend, and I sleep so much better as well! So my goal for this week is to be relaxed about work and just keep reminding myself that if i need to take a sick day, I will and no drama about it.
In other news, I went to an information session at the birth centre at my local hospital on Saturday, and met with 2 of the midwives. They seem totally awesome and I'm really impressed with their whole operation - but my husband is a little weary, I think he prefers me to be in labour and delivery. He's horrible at watching me suffer and the midwives kept talking about how important it is to have a birth partner who is supportive of the mothers' choice, regardless of what comes to pass during the labour. I think my husband is worried that he'll try to start convincing me to get an epidural immediately!
Trying to set up my appointment with my GP this week, and hopefully an u/s! But she is notorious for barely ever requesting u/s, so I might have to wait til the NT scan at 12/13 weeks...I'm not really that fussed although of course I'd love to see the heartbeat!
Also told my sister this morning and she's over the moon - so glad to be able to share with her

@ScarletBegonia: yes, stress and getting up early always made me sick with my first. I threw up almost every Monday morning of that pregnancy, but by the weekend I was ok. Crazy stuff!

Hi ladies... I am cautiously bringing myself onto this board!
EDD if you have one: March 29 is what the Dr gave me, but I guess I'm somewhere at the end of March/beginning of April!
When Did You Find Out?: well according to FF 7dpo, but they changed my O date and it was only dotted, so I think I found out at 9dpo
Child Number: first!
Where You Live: Virginia
What kind of provider will you see?: Not sure yet. I like my ObGyn, but haven't gotten that far yet
When's Your First Appointment?: I went in last thurs afternoon to get blood taken after my BFP in the morning, knowing I was going out of town. But have my first "real" one scheduled for August 13.
What kind of birth do you want?: um, quick as possible? Does that count?
What You're Most Excited For: Feeling him or her move, being able to have a baby wo (fx) intervention, having a little love in my arms, seeing DH be a dad, having a grand kid for my parents, seeing little parts of me and DH in our little one, it feeling real...
What You're Most Scared About: everything! Hiding it for the first tri (stupid no drinking is going to give me away .. Not that I drink a ton, but I'm usually game for a glass of wine w friends... I'm a terrible liar), telling my friends who have been trying for a while now, m/s, being sick at work, birth, miscarriage, getting good childcare... Eek.! Trying not to let my anxiety get too out of control.
Symptoms so far: So. Thirsty. But that could be the heat. A little nausea, but that could be nerves. Body running hot, I'm warmer that DH who is always a furnace. Not sleeping super well. Had crazy dreams just bf my BFP.
Any fun plans for the summer (or winter in Aus)?: At the beach/visiting family for the next two weeks
Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart: I'll have to do that from my phone, but I did give DH a cute little Beatles onesie before I showed him our BFP (at first he thought I gave him a t shirt, which he thought was awfully small lol)

@debbie18: I'm hoping for a girl! I really wanted a boy with DS and we got it so I'm thinking I might not get my way this time. Although, it would be so easy it it were a boy, we wouldn't need anything but diapers, so I guess I'm happy either way!
@runsyellowlites: well I guess you definitely deserved that sleep!
@bao: sisters are so great!
@matador84: eek! Twins are so scary! I have friends with twins and they have to follow such a strict schedule! Oh my - that would be 3 under 2! Hope the heartburn was a fluke and not something that's going to bug you constantly already.
@scarletbegonia: yes! Stress is the worst for ms! Hope you can find a way to relax a bit
@babyboecksmom: yay! Congrats again! How old is your DD?
@hazeleyes: congrats! I'm so excited for you and all the first time mom's here!

Who has the next appointment? Mine isn't until August 15th and time is going so slow!
coconut / 8305 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: @HazelEyes: Welcome & congrats!
@ScarletBegonia: Have you considered getting a Doula?! They are fantastic! Even if you do decide to get pain management (and transfer) they can continue to advocate for you!
@Bao: Mine is Aug 5th! We should be able to hear the heartbeat!!!! =)
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@runsyellowlites: Yay! How far along will you be at that appointment? I'm hoping we get to hear a heartbeat at our appt too. I had a different OB for A until 17 weeks because we lived out of state, so I'm not sure what to expect as far as appointments this time around. So anxious!
coconut / 8305 posts
@Bao: 9wk 5days! We didn't get to hear P's heart beat until like 11 weeks so I really hope we get to hear this one sooner!
coconut / 8483 posts
@Bao: I have a dating US on july 29th! Should be between 6-7 weeks at that point. Then I have my first MW appointment on August 12th!
Do they routinely listen to the heartbeat with a doppler? When can they start hearing it with that?
coconut / 8305 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: If you have an u/s you should be able to hear the heartbeat from there.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: I remember with LO we saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks (didn't hear), and it wasn't until a few appts after that, that we actually got to hear it.
persimmon / 1198 posts
@bao: my appointment is August 6th. I'll be 8w1d. Not sure what to expect since it's the first time seeing this doctor. I was seeing a NP for my annual exams, and even though I loved her I couldn't see her for pregnancy.
@matador84: I'm a little scared of twins as well. My aunt has fraternal twins and no one else in my family has had them...so I'm sure it's going to be us because we live in a 2 bedroom apartment away from family while my husband is in graduate school :

Ok guys so I'm confused lol....
I went to play around with the due date calculators again and they are all different. If I go from LMP it gives me a DD of 3/16 or 3/17, if I go from the day of my last positive OPK it gives me a date of 3/22....which would you go with? I'll probably just stick to 3/17 until my appointment anyway but now I'm all kinds of confused.
coconut / 8305 posts
@Bao: I ALWAYS take the latest date! I like buying as much time as I can.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@runsyellowlites: Do they usually go off LMP? I know I O later than "average"...
coconut / 8305 posts
@Bao: Since I knew when I O'd we went by that. My MW is all about buying time too!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@runsyellowlites: Hmm well I was using OPK's but got a few days of positives, so that's not very reliable for me.
coconut / 8305 posts
@Bao: I went by my second set of O symptoms... no OPK or anything like though.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@runsyellowlites: You'd think after a BFP I would relax about things haha nope, it continues I'll just wait for the dr to tell me a due date hehe
clementine / 854 posts
My first appt is Aug 5th too. I'll be 6w3d. So nervous, but I can't wait to see that heartbeat for a little reassurance.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
It looks like I will be about 9.5 weeks at my first appointment.
