Baby A arrived today at 627pm. Got to the hospital around 11 with some bleeding and was already 6cm. Got to an 8 quick and then got an epi. I tried to rest. Got to a 9 within an hour and then they broke my water and I got to a 10 right away. I then waiting before pushing for another hour or so. He was posterior and trying to flip him made his heart rate drop. I pushed him or I half an hour but the used a vacuum to get him out quick and I have a million stitches. Can't feel that pain yet thank god. He is the cutest little guy! 7lbs 13 ounces and a ton of dark hair!!

Trying to sleep now. Good luck march mamas.

@lemondrop: congrats again! He's super cute and I love his name

@Mrs. Champagne: yay! Congratulations! I cant wait to see him! My first was posterior and it took a long time for me to recover, my advice is to take it as easy as possible.

Hey ladies! So I'm on day 4 with little Aaron and things have been amazing so far! We were in the hospital for 2 days & 2 nights, where he slept like a champion and we worked hard to get BF going. Of course I was too wired from the birth to sleep at all, and am consequently running on basically empty at the moment! We brought him home yesterday & our first night was a bit rough with him frenzy feeding every hour. Still, he is so happy and easygoing that I don't mind! Milk came in today so he's been sleeping longer stretches which has been nice. I'm writing this out at 120am though, because we just has the feeding from hell with a big spit up, 2 poops and me not being able to settle him down after all the excitement. But we got there (I think - I'm listening like a hawk for any of his sounds!). All in all the first 4 days have been wonderful. My husband surprises me every day with his love for Aaron and I am working through sleep deprivation better than I thought I would (though I know it's early days yet).
As for my body, the foreceps delivery was surprisingly easy on me - since the surgical staff perform them, they gave me a tiny episiotomy which is hardly visible and is not causing me any pain. Aaron has no marks or scratches from the foreceps. I'm having minor pp bleeding, but other than that I'm feeling really good. I didn't mention in my first post that I laboured to 10 cm and pushed for a hour I medicated - then got the epidural and pushed another hour before the foreceps were used, and I've decided that natural birth is NOT for me! I will most definitely be getting an epidural, and MUCH earlier, for any subsequent children! The relief I felt when that needle went in cannot be expressed. I've never been so grateful in my life for anything.

That should say unmedicated. Phone typing!

Lincoln Joseph showed up today (3/17-way to be punctual kid) at 11:35am via c section. He was 7 lbs 5.1 oz and 19.25 inches long. He's already nursed really well! I'll try to post a picture and birth story soon! He's been absolutely perfect the past couple hours that I've had with him!

@Bao: Doing good over here - just waiting since I'm not due until the end of next week. My 39 weeks appointment is tomorrow and I'm getting checked for the first time - yay! My last day of work is Friday so I'm just hoping she holds out until then. It seems like just yesterday we were waiting for everyone to have their babies and now almost everyone has!! Hope all you mamas are doing well.

    Thank you everyone!

We are loving him up here! My incision hurts more today (probably from less drugs) but we are doing well so far. We are kinda stuck in the hospital until Thursday morning. We might try for an early discharge (tomorrow) if I feel ok though. We will have to see...I'm not sure I want to but DH is getting antsy and wants to leave I think.

Here's his Facebook announcement pic (he's wearing Link's outfit from the Legend of Zelda video games):

Aww, love the new March additions!

We are doing good, I'm definitely more tired and feeling beat up today. My milk came in, so I'm very engorged and sore. Tomorrow we start returning to more life as normal since my IL's are heading home. They have been total lifesavers, while I know we will be fine, it's been so nice to have extra entertainment for Cam.

Everitt has been amazing so far, I have mostly just been enjoying holding and snuggling him. Cam has been pretty scared of him, but I think we turned a corner today, Ev had a fit about peeing through his clothes and Cam thought he was hilarious and is starting to warm up to him.

Our first night home he woke up wet and freaked out, which woke up and set Cam off, so we divided and conquered and survived. Since he loves to snuggle, he's been giving me a decent stretch or two of night sleep, which I am extremely grateful for!

Just had to have a bit of a gloat, Aaron had his final meeting with the midwife at home today and he's above birth weight at 6 days!! Of course I've been dealing with mad cluster feeding from 10-2am most nights to make it so, but I don't mind as last night he gave me 2 almost 3 hour stretches afterwords.
STMs, did you find that you eventually crashed from the sleep deprivation? I'm still feeling like I'm on a high, or that hormones are carrying me through, or something, cause even though I'm not sleeping much I still feel pretty good! Will it all crash down on me soon?

  33. anonysquire

@ScarletBegonia: woo hoo! Nice job. I don't have a weigh in til Friday but I'm so nervous!

  34. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

@anonysquire: Don't worry about it, the midwife told me there is such a huge range of normal in terms of weight re-gain. How is feeding going for you? Are you breastfeeding?

  35. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@ScarletBegonia: ya I'm breast feeding and so far it's mostly been great. But some nights she eats a ton and then spits up a ton and falls asleep so I worry that she is starving to death.

  36. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

Yeah I hear you, Aaron doesn't spit up that much but he's a pretty lazy feeder (hence the 4 hour boob marathons), so I was worried as well. I'm sure all will be well! My nipples could really use a break

I've been absent from the boards for a while now... I guess dealing with the fact that my scheduled induction is no longer scheduled due to a software upgrade at the hospital. So I'm not happy that I'm so miserable, but my doctor gave me a sliver of hope, saying that he thinks she'll come before the 24th. That's big news because any time I've hinted at her coming early, he pretty much denied it. This change of heart gives me something to hold on to. Oh, and we're redoing the tile in our house before we put it on the market (original tile wasn't done correctly and was coming up), so I need her to stay put for two more days.

@debbiei8: I'm late to the game but wanted to say congrats on your handsome boy!!

@lemondrop: Ahhhh! Thanks for giving the update - gives me a little taste of what it will be like when Cora gets here
