@Mrs D: just catching up - so glad you and baby are ok! And cute picture!

@Alivoo01: I've read that a stethoscope won't work until about 18 - 20 weeks, but we also bought one specifically for fetal heartbeat, so indeed it's an option! We both listened VERY carefully the other night, in a perfectly quiet room, but still not sure if it was my stomach or a heartbeat, lol. pretty interesting non the less.
@Mrs D: so glad all is okay so far. how scary
I've been struck with a bad cold and having a hard time breathing out my nose and not coughing every 2 minutes. hoping for a good night sleep.
Also - I'm surprised we're not sharing belly shots yet?! to be honest, I have yet to take one! but I know I need to. I just feel like the baby has only pushed whatever pudge I had forward, and I'm still waiting for an actual bump, ha

@Mrs D: Yikes on the scare, but glad baby girl is looking good! Hope the fever is down now and that it's just some random virus that's gone now.
@ksnow: Yay to a baby boy!!!
@sbbs3: Yuck on being sick while preggo. Super sucks because you're limited on the meds you can take and congestion is the biggest downer! Hope it passes soon for you!
As for belly shots, here's our thread for sharing them! http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/march-mamas-bump-thread#post-2265825

Will you guys vote on a chair for me? I'm trying to decide on a recliner so I can order it now since it's a 4-6 week wait...I really want a super comfy chair for nursing. These are both recliner/gliders which is a must for me. They're about the same size/price, but the uglier one is more comfortable...which would you go with??
Also - what color would you get? Walls are tan, furniture is white, color will be Navy with accents of either grey or aqua...so for chair i'm thinking one of those colors.
persimmon / 1328 posts
I think the top one is better looking but I'd go for the more comfortable one! Probably in grey I think.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@ksnow: I too vote for comfort since you could potentially be sitting in it for hours. Just make sure you can easily get in and out of it though!
I'm short (5'3") and when I was testing out gliders, some were super comfy, but sat back really far/have a deep seat so getting up took some work. And that's without a babe in my arms!
pomelo / 5573 posts
@ksnow: I'm so torn because I really like the top one better but I agree that comfort is the important part. But I second what Alivoo01 said - make sure you can get out of it without using your arms. The other thing I'd say is make sure the back is high enough that you can rest your head on it.
@sbbs3: Hope you feel better! I also haven't taken a belly shot yet - although with my last pregnancy I was really diligent with weekly shots up until week 17, and then it goes 17, 24, 28, morning I went to have my c section. Whoops!
It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and I can't wait to stuff my face with gravy (one of the biggest cravings I've had this pregnancy is gravy. I can't get enough gravy) and pie.

Man, I have totally not kept up with updating here! It seems like time is flying by! I have been reading all of your updates though and want to get more involved...
As for me... we have our anatomy scan today! I am counting down the hours
nectarine / 2458 posts
Had our anatomy scan today. The ultrasound tech here won't even say "yeah everything looks good" or not because technically a doctor has to look at it first. Still a boy, she got all the pictures she needed, and he's growing on track still, so that's good.
It was really disappointing though, she only printed out a penis shot, a picture of the spine, and a picture of an arm. No face/profile pictures at all. I think she was annoyed that the baby wasn't cooperating (she had trouble getting the measurement of the head and he didn't want to move) but still!
pear / 1610 posts
We just found out... It's a girl! DS guessed that all along.
@Navy_Mommy: Bummer! I'm sorry the tech wasn't very kind about it all.
apricot / 451 posts
@Navy_Mommy: I'm sorry your tech sucked! I had a horrible tech at my anatomy scan for my DD and I actually switched my doctor and practice altogether because of it - at 22 weeks! I also booked an elective 3D u/s so I would finally have a good u/s experience. (All 3 u/s techs at 8,12 & 20 weeks got progressively worse). Worth every penny and I am much happier with my new practice. I'm not saying you should jump ship, just that omg that super sucks and I've been there!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Navy_Mommy: what the heck?! That's so rude/unprofessional even if you are frustrated. You're not supposed to show it to your patients. Plus, you know how far apart the ultrasound appts are, we need plenty of GOOD pictures man! Arg!!! I'm so frustrated for you!!
@creativemomma15: Congrats on your baby girl!!
@momtimes3: Sleep sucks for me. My nighttime sleep resembles more like naps throughout the night. I'll nap for like an hour or two, then be awake tossing and turning for a bit then nap for another hour or two, rinse and repeat. Sigh.
Meanwhile, I'm also still pretty symptom free and not feeling movement yet so I'm a bit worried about how baby girl is doing in there. My next appt is next Thursday and it can't come soon enough!!

I can't wait to have another u/s since not feeling movement really yet i keep hoping soon! 18.5 wks.. Anyone else not feeling much?
nectarine / 2115 posts
Lots coming up this month! I have my 18 week appointment with the midwives on the 21st and then our anatomy scan on the 26th! CAN'T WAIT to know baby's gender! We also have our introductory meeting with our fouls sometime this month. Anyone else using a doula?
nectarine / 2458 posts
So a few days ago I distinctly felt the baby kick - from the outside only. Like, felt him kick my hand but still didn't feel anything inside. At my ultrasound I asked if I had an anterior placenta and she said no. I have some nerve damage from an existing back problem but it's only ever affected my feet (going numb). So I'll be asking about that at my appointment this week, lol.
And I got ANOTHER stomach bug. 12 hours of not being to hold down ANYTHING and the last 8 or so hours slowly being able to like sip clear broth. It's been rough.
Can't believe I'm 20 weeks tomorrow.
pomelo / 5573 posts
@Navy_Mommy: Cool! Although weird that you didn't feel it from the inside! Maybe you sort of did but it all blended into one symptom? And you poor woman, sick again! You are having a tough time! Although some clear broth sounds delicious to me right now, but I'm freezing at work.
@mrsrain: Exciting month! I've thought about a doula but only because (this is kind of embarrassing) the acupuncturist I used when I did IVF before my first pregnancy was REALLY cool and I want to befriend her and she's a doula so I thought I could hire her and then we could become friends.
@Alivoo01: Only two more days until your next appointment! Will you get an ultrasound?
@creativemomma15: Congratulations!
Thanksgiving here this weekend which meant I spent too much time on my feet and not enough time relaxing. On the up side, I managed to not murder my mother (she really is a lovely woman and I know she wants the best for me and means well but everything she does makes me crazy) and I ate pie for breakfast on Sunday. Now I've got to get through 9 days until we head off to Vegas, and then when we come back it's time for the 20 week ultrasound!
pomelo / 5573 posts
Also, I feel really pregnant today. Way more than 18 weeks pregnant. I think it's partly that I pushed myself too hard this weekend and so I'm stiff and sore today and have developed a bit of a waddle, and partly that my husband's grandma told me in about 5 different ways yesterday (each one trying to backtrack from the one before) that she was surprised by how big I was already and I was "much bigger" than at this point with my first pregnancy. Anybody else find they're starting to feel it already?
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@erinbaderin: My appt is next week, but I wish it was in 2 days!! That'd be awesome!! Either way, yes, I get an ultrasound.
Only 1 person has commented on how big my belly is (BIL's MIL). I hardly ever see her, but when I did this past Sunday, she couldn't stop repeating my belly is so big!! I did start showing earlier with #2 and my belly is bigger than it was with DS by about a month, but I didn't think it was THAT big. What do I know.

@erinbaderin: I blame my 3 year old for getting sick over and over, lol. He doesn't do daycare, but we do classes and playdates almost every day...3 year olds are germ farms.

Sorry ladies...I need to catch up with you all but its been crazy here!
I thought all was well this weekend and then found myself back in the hospital Sunday evening with another fever. I spent Mon/Tues at home in bed resting (strict orders) and think I am finally kicking whatever this is today.
No official diagnosis (all tests kept coming back negative) so the best guess is a virus that just needed to run its course!

@momtimes3: I'm not really feeling much movement either and it sucks my anatomy scan is in 2 days and I'm sort of nervous because I want everything to be okay! Almost 20 weeks and still very little movement, if at all.

@Alivoo01: I have a regular appointment on Oct 21 and then my anatomy ultrasound on Nov 11th

I'm starting to feel a little bit of movement every night (17 weeks)....we're going on vacation around 20 weeks with some family so hoping they might be able to catch a kick at that point!

@Mrs D: No bueno!! Hope once this passes, it stays away. Ain't nobody got time for sickness, never the less unknown ones! *hugs*
@leighleigh: Eep! My anatomy scan is next Thursday, and like you, I still feel no movement. I'm keeping positive thoughts both is well for us during our scans. Update us as soon as you can. I'm holding onto your appt to get me through the next week till it's my turn!
@ksnow: yay for movement!! I'm jealous!

Wow I am completely out of the loop with this thread, DS has had terrible croup and yesterday ended up having to have steroids and narrowly avoided being sent to A&E. Pretty stressful but thankfully he is feeling a bit better now and currently taking a monster nap to make up for last night's broken sleep!
Hope everyone is doing good, I am 20+4 today and excited for my anatomy scan on Tuesday! Finally feeling properly regular movements the last couple of weeks, but this baby moves nowhere near as much as DS did - like barely kicks all day and then has a bit of a wiggle in the evenings. I wonder if that means it will be a more chilled out baby!

We had our anatomy scan and found out we are having a little girl. Unfortunately things didn't look quite right and we were referred to a perinatologist. My husband couldn't take two days off in a row and we weren't overly concerned so I went alone today.
Basically the baby has all the signs and symptoms of a rare chromosome disorder called Turner syndrome. She has a heart defect as well as severe swelling and fluid buildup up all over her body and brain. They want me to terminate and said she'll likely be a stillbirth if we don't. If by a miracle she makes it her heart defect will ensure she doesn't survive long. I am heartbroken as this is our third pregnancy and still no baby in sight. I'm just at a loss on what to do and how to move on from this.
