    @oskarsmommy: YES. ALWAYS hungry. And thanks for the encouraging stories. I'm hopeful.

    @lilyann: thank you!!

    No movement over here yet, but I have an anterior placenta. Pretty sure that means I won't feel them for a good while yet.

    The pain in my abdomen is unreal. It's been relentless since six weeks. Sometimes it's just a constant dull cramping, other times it's the sharp round ligament, but also just daily discomfort or sharp squeezing jabs. It's so painful. I didn't have this at all with my first pregnancy.
    I'm starting to feel my stomach form up a little bit more and that makes me excited! Based on the firmness I think the baby may be toward my right side!
    Not feeling any movements yet, but still pretty early for me. Nausea is mostly gone unless I have an empty stomach.

    This week has been sooo rough because my cold was really bad. I could barely talk, coughing all the time, not sleeping, but so tired. But I still worked every day (saving PTO for maternity leave). I think I'm finally starting to come out of it but still not 100%.

    @Mrs. Pen: omg my pain has been bad too!!! I was cramping for weeks and now it's pain anytime I turn. It's so weird. I actually think it might be Braxton hicks.

    @Mrs. Pen: @anonysquire: Yes! It seems like any time I put any pressure on my abdomen (like leaning against the changing table when I change DS), I get sharp crampy pains. I mentioned Braxton Hicks to my husband, and he was like, "It's gonna be a long pregnancy if that's happening already." Yeah, no kidding!

    @Weswife: oh I didn't even mention the sciatica. It's bad. With my first there were periods I couldn't even walk or stand.
    Thankfully it's not that bad, but shooting pain constantly.

    I've been lurking since my first post, but I found out last week that were having a girl (by the genetic blood test)..which makes me much more excited and looking forward to this pregnancy. I bought my first set of maternity clothes last night and today too, so now I really "feel" pregnant.

    @Pinkberrry: yay another girl! And glad you feel pregnant! I just ordered two pairs of maternity jeans. I just hope they fit when they arrive!

    So you girls know how your dreams can become more vivid in pregnancy? Does anyone else have more vivid dreams? Also all of mine are very scary at the end... has anyone else experienced this? I am not a fan.

    I have a sister in law that's due with her baby this week and seeing her so anxious to get the baby out and no labor signs is making me anxious too haha. I'm like, "I still have freaking 22 weeks to go!"

    I've been nesting like crazy you guys. I'm appreciating the push in motivation. We are possibly getting a foster child this fall/winter so I've been making more space, decluttering, figuring out family rules and chores and deep cleaning every inch.

    @Pinkberry: Yay, we were due another girl in here! Congratulations!

    @lilyann: Oh man, you have the cutest little family ever! SO adorable!

    We had our gender scan today - little man is measuring right on track at 18w1d. Confirmed that he is a boy, that I still have an anterior placenta, and that he's breech right now. Baby boy better get to flipping around! In other news, I'm sad that this is probably the last ultrasound - it's so much fun to watch him wiggling all over the place.

    I know we all have some time, but I'm wondering if any of you can advise me on VBAC vs scheduled C-section? My first ended up as an emergency c-section after my placenta ruptured, so that clearly was not in my birth plan. This go around, up until yesterday basically, I was all for the planned c-section and my OB didn't have any issues with that plan. But now I'm wondering about laboring naturally and attempting a VBAC. I don't know, the idea of not being able to pick up LO1 for 8 weeks is making me second-guess myself, but the idea of pushing out almost 9 lbs of baby also has me worried too. Stories, good and bad, are welcome. I really feel ambiguous about the process. TIA

    15 weeks today!
    I'm just about over this awful cold so I'm finally feeling pretty decent.
    No movements yet, very little nausea. Still tired but that's just a chronic mom issue lol! I was planning to get back into the gym last week then I got sick so I need to make a plan this week! My weekends are typically active, we go to parks and walking a lot. My four year old hates going walking but I make him and tell him it'll keep him healthy lol

    @raspberries: haha well 22 weeks for him to flip- I think you're alright but exciting on all the good news!! Have you felt anything yet? I'm surprised they'd do your anatomy scan at only 18 weeks! I'm jealous. I wish mine was at 18, or even 19..

    pear / 1955 posts

    @JennEn: Not my own experience, but one of my good friends had a successful VBAC - the first time around, she ended up with an emergency c-section due to fetal distress (the cord had knotted and the knot was pulling tighter as the baby progressed.) The second time around, she had a completely uneventful vaginal birth (no cord issues.) She said recovery was worse the first couple days after a vaginal birth, but got much better much quicker than after her c-section. I think if it was me, I'd tentatively plan for a VBAC, and then see how things go - it might become obvious that you should go one way or the other as you get closer to birth.

    @Mrs. Pen: Hahaha, you're right, 22 weeks should be moooore than enough time. I think part of me is worried because I was my mom's second child and was breech until the last minute, when I flipped and came out sunny side up. I always joke with my mom that I made her pregnancy hellish and have spent the last 30 years making up for it by being the perfect daughter. Still, I'd rather history not repeat itself!

    ETA: I think I HAVE felt the baby move now - very very light movements, but I'm pretty thrilled to be feeling it at all with an anterior placenta!

    @raspberries: Thank you, thank you!!

    @JennEn: I had a failed induction at 40 weeks with my first. My cervix was not favorable but my OB was concerned with his size since I had GD with him (9lbs 2 oz). I dilated to an 8 but his heart rate kept dropping after contractions and I developed a fever. With DS2, I knew I wanted to try VBAC. I hired a doula and my body went into pre-labor at 37 weeks. My OB was amazing and did a gentle induction (foley bulb, light dose of pitocin) and I had my VBAC with no tearing (DS2 was 8lbs, 4oz) at 37.5 weeks. Recovery was such a breeze. I know everyone's experience is different though. Good luck with your decision!

    @raspberries: Yay on the anatomy scan! Plenty of time to flip!!

    @Weswife: Oh my goodness the dreams! They are so stinking vivid and while they aren't bad or anything, they are all anxiety-inducing somehow. I wake up having to check something or in a half-panic about something I definitely didn't forget (but I did in my dream!). I've even woken up crying a couple times because they're so stressful. DH just laughs at me

    @anonysquire: I hit nesting too! Literally two days after the morning sickness seemed to have passed, I decided to deep clean my utility room, clean up the whole kitchen, and rearrange furniture in 3-5 rooms! Plus have 5 people over for dinner this weekend. I'm either crazy or pregnant haha!

    @Pinkberrry: Congrats and welcome!

    15 weeks today and still feeling like dirt over here. I forgot to take my diclegis at lunch, and it is kicking my butt. I'm looking forward to magical Second tri energy any second now, cause this is the worst. I did buy maternity clothes this weekend, though, so at least that's taken care of.

    Hope youre all well today. How's everyone feeling?

    Do you guys feel movement daily? I feel like I haven't felt anything for a few days and it's kinda starting to freak me out!

    pear / 1955 posts

    @Weswife: The kicks I feel aren't regular at all - days go by without me feeling anything. I don't think you should worry just yet! With my first son, I don't think I felt him move at all until around 20 weeks... you're probably actually feeling it earlier than most FTMs!

    @Weswife: I can't even feel anything yet, so I think you're fine. It's still early!

    @Weswife: I think you are fine!! I don't feel movement daily unless I am really concentrating and laying down in bed and even then, I don't always feel something. I'll be 16 weeks this Friday with my 3rd.

    @anonysquire: Acetaminophen is supposed to be okay - but I'm not sure that would really make a dent in a migraine. Hope you find some relief!

    @anonysquire: I think tylenol is pretty much it. The main page had a blog post yesterday about migraines while pregnant, if might say in there what was safe to take.

    I'm still having horrible insomnia. I have a lot going out right now, so the added stress is really making it worse. At my last dr appt she mentioned a few things I could take, but I don't like to take sleep aids, as I get very dependent on them. She recommended magnesium, which I used to take but stopped. I couldn't remember why I stopped taking it, so I tried it again, and then I remembered, oh yeah.. I stopped taking it because it makes sleeping so much worse! The opposite of what should happen.
    I'm 99.9% sure she had said I could take gravol, so I decided last night I'd take one as I've had a combination of about .. 5 hours of sleep in 2 days. Working 10 hour days on that little of sleep is starting to slowly kill me. I read the package and it said to consult a physician before taking. I took it anyways, but now I'm not sure. Does anyone know if it is OK to take? Google gives mixed reviews. ( Yes I will ask my Dr again, just thought I'd see if any of your Dr's had clarified first )
    I'm so tired, I just want 1 good sleep to get me through the next few work days! The gravol helped a little but not a lot. Any other suggestions?

    Is anyone else having really frequent braxton hicks? I have felt them since 11 or 12 weeks but they are starting to get more frequent this week DS2 came at 37 weeks, I am just hoping this one stays put until at least then!

    @MrsB2012: I'm having insomnia but it's not been that bad, so sorry! My phone is on my nightstand and sometimes I have to move it further away so I won't start surfing because it will keep me up longer. I take a lot of baths (not super hot) to help me relax and unwind.

  40. Mrs. Pen

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts

    Just finished my prenatal appt- baby's heartbeat is strong at 157!! So exciting.

    I admitted my anxiety about not having a bump or weight gain and they said that's totally fine and even if I had a bump by now my first pregnancy, every pregnancy is different and I'll probably start to grow a lot faster in the next few weeks.

    Also they let my schedule my 20 week ultrasound a week earlier at 19 weeks so my new U/S date is November 1! It doesn't feel as far off anymore
