@Smurfette: Yeah, me too! It's hard though, especially now that we're back at work. The lighting is terrible in the evening, so weekends are really the only good picture days for me!

I just have to post this. She was having so much fun in her exersaucer tonight.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Gahhh, so cute!!!! Can R sit up on her own? I want to put Xander in the exersaucer because I think he'd love it, but he just kind of topples over when he's in it.
Okay, so I have a good and bad story about Xander! The bad story is that when I picked him up from daycare, he was totally bummed to be leaving with me!!!! He'd look at the daycare teacher and smile and then look at me and pout. Then look at the teacher and smile, back to me and pout. I was so depressed. I felt like he loved her more than me. And then he's so quiet and sullen in the car, like I totally let him down by picking him up from daycare. I wish he was excited to see me...
But THEN after we were home for a little bit, he was lying on the floor and I just started vigorously kissing his cheeks over and over and going "Mwah!" every time I kissed him, and he just LAUGHED and LAUGHED!!!! He LOVED it!!!!! It was so much fun!!! Except every time I stopped kissing him, he'd look at me with this look like "WTF Mom, why'd you stop?" And then I'd start kissing him again and he would laugh so loudly!!!
And now I'm off to feed him his 9:00 p.m. feed! The last one before the weekend of trying not to do it!! Looking forward to the late night snuggles!

@Adira: She sits in it good. I do stuff a blanket behind her just to be safe. Cause she will excited and lose control and lean back to far. She got mad when I took her out for bath time.
Bummer about pick up! Must be something in the water cause R didn't seem interested in me when I picked her up today.
I was kissing R like that yesterday when she laughed for me. I didn't Mwah though.
I was going to ask, too lazy to look back, what sunscreen did you say you use on Xander again? We might take R on Sat to a friends pool if her and I get home in time from a wedding shower.
Oh I thought about you today, R keeps grabbing her feet now during diaper changes, didn't you say Xander does that?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Maybe I can try wrapping a blanket or towel around him and see if he's stable in the exersaucer.
Babies must love kisses!! We use BabyGanics. I found it at Target. And yes!! Xander's often trying to eat his feet during diaper changes. Although his latest thing is to kick his legs as fast and as much as possible!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: R wiggles so much now, and it is hard to get the diaper on her. I hate to think how hard it is going to be when she is mobile! Tonight she rolled on her tummy while I was grabbing a diaper from the drawer.

@Mrs. Blue: We try to get Liam down to sleep between 7 and 7:30 sometimes it ends up being closer to 8. We are up between 5:30 and 6 (he usually wakes up once or twice briefly) So I would say we are probably closer to 10 hours. I have thought about bumping his bedtime a little earlier but I already have so little time with him on the weekdays I just don't think I could do it.
@Smurfette: That pic is adorable! She looks like she is having so much fun! I can't wait to try Liam in an exersaucer! He is getting strong in his legs so I bet he will love bouncing.
@Adira: That's too bad about pick-up but how fun that he was laughing with you over kisses. I absolutely LOVE the belly laughs!

@Smurfette: So cute!! looks like she is having so much fun. I want to get one too! Till how many months can they use it? Maybe I can replace something else he outgrows with this. I feel like the house is already being taken over by baby stuff with playmat gym bouncy chair, swing and boppys and we live in a small apt.
So update from doc appt he just has a mild cold and its almost gone I was so glad to hear this. We have a cat and I was getting a bit worried if it was due to any pet allergies. And earlier today J might have rolled over!! My mom said he did it once but of course it doesn't count untilI witness it!! Im hoping he does it again over the weekend!!
@Adira: Aww I feel the same way when I pick him up in the evening and he turns to my mom and smiles! I get so jealous but then I am playing and he is happily cooing with me
apricot / 338 posts
@Adira: I haven't gone back to my old posts I didn't take many pictures either when he was little
@Mrs. Blue: tonight I fed J at 6:30pm and was asleep at 7;30!! Usually he is up until 8:30pm and I do a dream feed around that time and he falls asleep. He sleeps about 6-7 hours and then has about 4 oz while still sleeping and then wakes up around 6am.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@silver1: I think the most start using it around 4-5 months. All depends on how good your LO is at sitting up and head support. I do put a blanket behind her for more support but I know day care doesn't. Yes, the baby toys are taking over our house as well.

Last night was a bit better for sleep. Isaac was asleep about 9:30. He woke up to nurse at 12:40, 3, 5 and then up at 7. He usually wakes up one other time early morning, but didn't today. He did wake up about 10:15 after I was in bed, but he just made noise for a few minutes and went back to sleep. Then this morning my mom took him so I could get a bit extra sleep.

@Smurfette: She looks like she is having a good time in there.
@Adira: So cute that he was laughing at your kisses. It is so much fun to make them laugh.
@silver1: I think the baby stuff does just take over. I plan on selling things like the swing as he outgrows them and then buying something he can use. I feel like we don't need to store every item for the next one, we can just buy them again.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: Glad that last night was a little better. Even better your Mom took him so you got some sleep. When do you go home again?
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: It is looking like labour day. We haven't exactly picked a day yet. DH is going to fly out here and drive my car back and myself and Isaac will fly home, but we haven't booked flights yet.

Okay ladies, massive update from me!
So... in an effort to try to help Xander with whatever's wrong with him (skin rash wise), I decided to try Huggies last night. Also after his bath, in case he might be allergic to Aquaphor or Eucerin, I lathered him up in regular old Vaseline. Well... this morning he looked soooooooo much worse!!! Everywhere he has eczema, they were now blister-like angry patches of skin and when he scratched at them, they broke and bled! I felt sooooooo terrible, so I immediately called his pediatrician and begged for an appointment today.
At our appointment, the pediatrician reassured me that it still was just eczema (I thought maybe it might've been something else, because it looks HORRIBLE), and we went over what I'm doing at home, and I'm doing everything right (bath 2x/week, no J&J products, double rinse of laundry, laundry detergent has no dyes or perfumes, etc) so she said it might be time for some steroids. I said "YES PLEASE!" So we have a prescription for something to use on his body (2x/day for 14 days MAX) and she told me to pick up some hydrocortisone ointment for his face. She also suggested that I limit milk since maybe he's allergic (boooo!) but she didn't really sound optimistic that that would help (yay?).
After our appointment, I realized that MAYBE he's having a reaction to the MMP! I've been using that for a little over a week and he's gotten so much worse just recently, so I'm going to stop using it in case that has anything to do with his condition. Poor baby.
BUT, the up-side of our appointment was that we got to get weighed!! 15 lbs 2 oz! He's gained a whole pound in 4 weeks, which would be 4 oz/week, so exactly where he should be! AND he's even in the 18th percentile for weight now. So not a huge increase, but he's finally not dropping anymore! Yay!!!
So THEN we went to the lactation consultant and I explained all my woes to her about getting pressure to send more in his bottles. She seemed to think 5oz ought to be enough, but we did a weighted feed to see how much he was getting from me because MAYBE he really was getting more...
NOPE!!!! 4 oz!!!!! Which totally makes sense to me because at 6 weeks when I did a weighted feed, he drank about 3.8 oz, and at 12 weeks when we did our trial run for daycare, he never ate more than 4.5 oz. AND it's been ALMOST 3 hours (we'll hit 3 hours in 20 minutes) and Xander doesn't seem hungry, so I think CLEARLY 5 oz is ENOUGH! I just hope this FINALLY convinces Hubs!!!

@Adira: Totally thread jacking here, but DS has eczema. We use Aveeno products for everything for him (lotion, sunblock, etc) and it keeps it under control. The only time he flairs up is when he comes back from his dad's house (not sure what they're doing different, cause I tell them to use Aveeno). It also comes up when he's been sweating.
I hope Xander feel better!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Dandelion: Xander's allergic to the Aveeno!!! *cries* I tried to Aveeno eczema therapy lotion on him and his skin turned BRIGHT RED and looked worse immediately after using it! I'm so bummed because I hear it works AMAZING!!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Aaaaaaand my pump just arrived!!!!! So excited to try it out!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Dandelion: Yeah!!! I'm so bummed! I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I've tried it on him three different times, all with the same result. Which sucks, because it's supposedly so awesome! Oh well. Hopefully this prescription works!

@Adira: Poor Xander! Hopefully it was a reaction to the MMP and he'll feel better soon. Hoping you love your pump!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Aww, poor Xander. So glad that you were able to get an appointment today. That is a great weight gain. I hope it is just a reacation to the MMP. I was wondering a little bit ago how your weighted feed went. Hopefully now everyone will lay off you!! Hope you enjoy your new pump.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Day care wrote on R's report card that she held her own bottle today!!! Some one tell her to stop growing up so fast.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: I'm glad your pump came, hopefully you will have success with it. I'm glad you got in with the pediatrician and that the prescription works, poor guy. Great weight gain!
I think my supply is dipping. I've been trying to pump all week and the most I've gotten at once is 2oz, where before I would get at least 4oz. Today Isaac drank 1oz of formula from a bottle right after nursing. The last couple days he hasn't had as many wet diapers. It could be that he isn't nursing as much in the afternoon though. I'm not sure what the heck to do.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: can you go see a LC and see how much he is getting during a nursing session?
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: OK, maybe I'm crazy. I just pumped and got 5oz. So maybe he just hasn't been as hungry today and yesterday.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Look at her!!!! I tried propping up Xander with a Boppy today too, but he just toppled over, haha. Go R!!!
Also, I'm feeling anxious about skipping the 9:00 feeding!!! Hold me!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: I hope tonight goes great for you. I'm hoping to not see you on here in the middle of the night!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: haha, I'm so scared!!! He always wakes up around 5:00/5:30, so I'm thinking I might have a 2:00/2:30 wake-up in my future!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: at least it is Saturday tomorrow. I'm really hoping he surprises you. Will you try again tomorrow if he wakes up in the night tonight?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: haha, I don't know! I was just thinking about that! I think if he wakes up in the middle of the night and is obviously hungry, then I probably won't try it again tomorrow, just in case this one night messes him up for a day. I NEED my 7 hours of sleep before work, so if he can only go 7 hours before he's hungry, I'd rather keep the 9:00 p.m. feed for now and not mess with a good thing! But I'm definitely willing to try it tonight (though I'm scared) so we'll see how it goes!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: good luck!!
So we put R to bed without the sleep sack, she cried for way longer. Then woke up twice! She never does this. I put her in it and nursing her to calm her down. Looks like she needs it as a sleep cue. Unless something else is going on.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Awww, poor R! I hope she sleeps okay the rest of the night! Good luck!!!
So I just pumped instead of feeding Xander!! I feel so anxious for some reason, haha. I wasn't sure about the PISA either at first and I didn't think it was working well, but I pumped almost 4oz in 15 minutes, so that actually is probably pretty good. Though I think I probably need to get the smaller flange! I definitely think more of my aerola was being sucked into the flange than was supposed to. I assume I can just buy the smaller size and try it out, right?
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Adira: good updates all around. Yes you can buy the smaller one- although I feel like most of mine gets sucked in and it works well.
This is our first night of sleep training and I HATE it. It's a "gentler" attended CIO. Sleep lady shuffle. But really he can't use the paci because he can't self soothe with it since he can't pick it up And put it back in his mouth. So that seems to be the main problem since he is used to going to sleep with the pacifier. He was absolutely miserable going to bed. I patted his back etc. but he was hysterical. woke up 30 min later hysterical again. This is gonna be a long night....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@travellingbee: So sorry to hear sleep training isn't going well!!!! I hope you guys figure something out soon and he's able to fall asleep!!
I'm about to head to bed! Feels weird not to be about to feed Xander... I feel like I'm not going to be able to fall asleep because I have that "I'm forgetting to do something..." feeling!

@silver1: I think the baby stuff has taken over our house too! As much as I love our swing it will be nice to store it away when Liam gets too big for it since it's kind of a big item to have hanging around in our main room.
@Smurfette: Yay for sitting up! It's so amazing how fast they grow!
@Adira: Good luck tonight! Hopefully the prescription helps and it is a reaction to the mmp. Glad you got your new pump!
persimmon / 1223 posts
@travellingbee: Sorry you're having a rough night so far! Hope it gets better for you!
We decided to put Liam to bed in his crib tonight for the first time.he has taken naps in there but has always slept in the cosleeper next to me. He went to bed really easy so now its just waiting to see how the night goes. As much as I am excited to transition him into his crib I'm a little sad at the thought of not having him next to me all night. Was anyone else nervous about having their LO in another room at first?
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: 4oz in 15 min is great. I hope your having a wonderful sleep and Xander doesn't wake you up.
@travellingbee: Sorry you are having a rough night. I hope that the sleep training gets better for you.
@dojo: That is awesome that he went down easy in his crib. I hope he has a great sleep in there tonight. I will be putting Isaac in his room in his crib in about a month and it already makes me a little sad to think about it.
These babies are just growing up way too fast!
