@Adira: Woohoo for no more pumping at night!! I'm sure after a couple days your boobs will adjust.

Last night was all right. He didn't make a peep until 12:45. Then he woke up 4 times, but was back asleep in a couple minutes. He woke up for the day at 4:30, so with the time change 5:30. I'm just glad he goes pretty much right back to sleep when he wakes up. Maybe tonight he'll make it longer.

@ALV91711: Bummer he woke up 4 times, but at least he went back down fairly easily! Hopefully he'll soon stop waking up!

@ALV91711: aw i hope he starts waking up less, but that's good that he goes back down right away! are you able to go back to sleep right away despite all the wake ups? you must be so exhausted.

how did everyone do with the time change?

J went down at the same time he usually does last night (7:30 pm), and woke up this morning at the "new 7:40 am". at first i looked at the time, saw 7:40 am and FREAKED out because i forgot about the time change and thought i missed his cries and thought he must've been crying for awhile since he usually wakes up around 6:30 am. then it hit me about the time change and i realized that technically it was still 6:40 am for his internal clock, so i was relieved.

anyway, he woke up at 7:40/6:40 am, meaning he took his first morning nap later than usual. we are going to limit his morning nap to 45 minutes (1 sleep cycle), so that he'll still be able to take an afternoon nap. hopefully he'll be adjusted to the time change by tomorrow!

@ALV91711: 4 wake ups, that is rough but at least he went back to sleep each time. R woke up at 430 wise awake but luckily went back to sleep within 10 mins. I on the other hand didn't. I am so exhausted.
@Adira: Cheers to getting your night back.
@Mrs. High Heels: R was up at 630ish, so 530, like normal. She fell back asleep so I didn't have to get her till 7 which was nice. She was tired so luckily she went down for a nap at 930 like normal. I am scared how tonight is going to go!

@Mrs. High Heels: This morning went well. We've been moving Xander's bedtime up a little bit every day this past week, so last night he went to sleep around 6:45. He woke up this morning around 7:20 (the old 6:20). Took his first nap around 11:00. I just tried to put him down for his second nap though and he's been crying for 15 minutes instead of sleeping. Ugh. Maybe it's too bright in his room?? Though his morning nap went fine and it was just as bright, so I don't know.

So tonight R went to bed at 730. I had to go and rock her cause she was upset in her own. I don't mind the new bedtime but she isn't sleeping later. 10 hours just isn't enough.

I seriously got tears tonight, I can't believe she is almost one.

@Mrs. High Heels: I actually feel more rested the last couple days. I'm able to go right back to sleep so that helps. Waking up for a couple minutes a few times is better than being up for half an hour two or three times nursing.

@Smurfette: I hope she sleeps later tomorrow. Poor thing needs some more sleep.

@Mrs. High Heels: The last few mornings Isaac has been waking up around 4:30, so today was the same thing but with the time change 5:30, which is his normal wake up time. So today went about as normal.

@Mrs. High Heels: The boys woke up at 6:50/old 5:50. Tonight we kept them up until 7:30/the old 6:30 in hopes that this will make them start waking up more like 6:45. If it doesn't work, we'll go back to our old 6:45 bedtime!

I had to wake up R at 630. Yay! She got 11 hours last night. Fingers crossed she keeps this up!! It would be so much easier if she sleeps till 630. I get her dressed, and she eats breakfast at day care.

  11. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Smurfette: That is awesome that she slept so long.

@Mrs. Blue: How did the boys do?

Last night was a success! Isaac was asleep just before 7pm. He rolled and sat up just after 9 but didn't really wake up. I did not hear another peep out of him until 4:30 when he was ready to nurse, and then he went back to sleep until about 5:40. I on the other hand only slept good until about 2:30.

  12. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@ALV91711: F woke up at 6:30 and E woke up at 6:45. So far so good. Hopefully the next few days will stay like that! Although, I'll have to start getting up to my alarm. Since they usually wake up between 5:30-6, I' generally just wake up when they get up. Today I just kept resetting my alarm so I could sleep a few more minutes....we are SO late for work. Oops!

@ALV91711: That is great!!! Well not the 530 part. Sorry you couldn't sleep. I still have trouble sleeping at night. I wake up thinking I heard R and she is still sleeping.

  14. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Mrs. Blue: I hope they keep it up.

@Smurfette: I don't mind the early since next week when I start back at work I'm going to have to be up by about 5:15 to be able to get us out the door on time.

And now he is napping by himself and without nursing first. He is sleeping in the swing, but it is progress. I'm surprised he would even go in it since he never cared for it much when he was smaller. But I figure the swing is better than my bed with me. And we can work towards getting him to nap in his crib.

@Smurfette: Yay for sleep!!!! Hopefully she keeps this up!

@ALV91711: What a great stretch!!! Yay for all these sleeping babies!

Xander did totally fine the time change. We had been moving him bedtime up by 10 minutes all week, so even though he was waking up at the same time during the week, he seemed fine with the earlier bedtimes. His afternoon nap ended up not starting until late and he didn't sleep very long, but he went to bed just fine! And since I'm sick, I didn't wake him up this morning, so he ended up sleeping until 6:45!

@Adira: Yay! Sick again? DH and I both had some weird stomach issues yesterday. We wonder if it was the fish we grilled Sat night. It was so nice here but other then going to the mall to get R some shoes, we didn't do anything but stay home. We were bummed and wanted to take her to the park for special bday fun. Slackers!

@Smurfette: Apparently my new thing is getting sick whenever AF shows up!

Bummer you guys weren't feeling well! Stomach issues are the worst! And I hear you on being lazy. I took Xander out to breakfast for his birthday, but then we just stayed home all day doing nothing! He didn't seem to mind though.

@Adira: That is nice that he slept that late. Sorry that you are sick again.

@Smurfette: I hope you are feeling better by the weekend. Well, much sooner than the weekend would be good.

It was so cute tonight. Isaac was standing at the living room window and laughing. DH goes over to see what was so funny. Isaac could see the neighbours kids on the patio and was having so much fun watching them play. It will be nice when it is warmer and he can walk and go play with them. The youngest one next to us is 2 and there are other babies his age on the block.

@Mrs. High Heels: That doesn't sound too bad for the time change? K went to bed a little later than normal (but before the "new" bedtime) because we were out for a family party. She actually woke up at 8:30, which would have been 7:30, which was an hour less. Yikes.

@Adira: I'm thinking the brightness in the room is our issue too. Earlier wake-up. Refuses to nap. I tried putting her to sleep in our room where it's darker, but she just wanted to play. I'm seriously wanting to get some kind of additional window treatment to block the top and sides, where the blackout curtains don't cover.

NAPS today have been awful! 35 min. for the morning because of a poopy diaper. Took her to Pretend City and played for 1 1/2 hrs! Thought for sure she'd be tired. NOPE. She wouldn't stop crying. Took her for a swim. It was kind of cold, so brought her back home and took a "swim" in the tub. You'd think that'd wear her out. NOPE. 30 min. of crying escalated into full blown screaming. So here we are at 6:30pm and no naps and 2.5 hrs. till bedtime. Also, because of the time change yesterday, K didn't take her afternoon nap. She was up for 7.5 hrs straight. We timed the nap for the hour-long car drive to our family party, but she wouldn't fall asleep. DH said it was too bright out. Of course, as soon as we got there, she was SO sleepy. But what could we do? She won't nap at a party, but at least she wasn't fussy.

Someone asked if she was ready for 1 nap/day. I highly doubt it. And especially not if they're less than an hour? ugh….

@ALV91711: That is so cute that Isaac was having fun watching the other kids play!!! I wish we had neighbors with kids close in age to us, but most of the neighbors around us are older.

@shopaholic: I THOUGHT we were good with the time change, but maybe not! Xander's naps yesterday at daycare were both later than normal, despite being up at the normal time. He was even still sleeping when I got there to pick him up! Which meant he did NOT want to go to bed at bedtime! Ugh! And it sounds like you had a pretty brutal day! At least Xander naps - just later than I want! Hopefully today will be better for you both!

@shopaholic: Sorry!! I hope today is better for K and you!

@ALV91711: @Adira: Thanks ladies! Her teacher had a little balloon for her and a cupcake. I told her NO cupcake till tomorrow. DH and I wanted to see her eat one tonight first. She said that is why she asked cause she wasn't sure R had one yet.

Mrs. Blue: Happy Birthday E and F!! So far I have fought off tears twice, you?

R walked through the kitchen and over to her new class this morning. She didn't drink her bottle this morning, and tried to steal the teachers hash brown. So we gave her her breakfast. She looked so much like a big girl sitting at a little table and chairs eating her french toast. I can't handle it!

  28. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

Also, R woke up last night crying in pain. Was trying to get back to sleep but was chewing on her hand. We gave her some Tylenol and she passed right back out. Poor thing. I on the other hand couldn't fall back asleep. I am so exhausted. She woke up at 545, and was in and out of sleep for 30 mins. So much for 630 being a new wake up time

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: OMG, R can sit at those little tables and chairs herself???? WHAT! No no no no - they're still BABIES!!! I'm so glad Xander gets to stay in the "infant" room for a while! I'm not ready for the move!

Poor R! She's working on molars, right? I feel like those are the worst teeth to break through, right? Ugh! I feel for her! Glad she was able to fall back asleep for a little bit, but definitely sounds like she didn't get enough sleep! Boo!

So Xander's sooooo not into drinking his milk from a sippy instead of a bottle. Ugh. Now that he's down to one bottle a day, he only had about 11 oz total yesterday (6 of that was in his first bottle). I'm hoping today goes better. I just have no idea how to get him to drink it. With a bottle, he's totally content to just sit in someone's lap or in a bouncy chair and hold the bottle and suck it down himself. But with the sippy, he just throws it around the room. UGH.

  30. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I know!! She made a craft yesterday too. She glued little tissues to a little snake. What? How does she know to do that?
Yeah she is working on the molars. I forgot to look for a tooth this morning. But no not enough sleep at all. She stays in the toddler room till 1130 today. So no morning nap either. Hopefully she will take a good long nap in the infant room. Then tomorrow she stays through nap time. Sleeping on a cot!!

R drank about 10 ozs of milk yesterday, 1-2oz of water and maybe an 1 oz of formula from her night bottle. That is a huge improvement from last week. So just give Xander some more time. He will get it!

  31. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Wait - WHAT? CRAFTS?? No no no. That's not right, haha. Xander is JUST learning how to point at things, lol. Good luck to R in the toddler room! I hope she takes a LONG afternoon nap!!!

And yay for actually drinking her milk! That's a huge improvement over what she had been drinking! Is she drinking those out of sippies? Or bottles? I'm hoping that once Xander is fully on all sippies, he'll eventually start drinking more again. Although at least he still nurses in the morning so I know he's probably getting 4-5 oz from that!

  32. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: She is drinking out of the BBox straw cup (like a Zoli but doesn't leak as much). But the teacher told me this morning that she grabbed another girl's cup yesterday and drank out of it. So she is going to take a picture of it for me. I want to get her on a sippy cup for milk. Cleaning the straw cup sucks. And I can't give her milk in the car cause it leaks. I didn't put milk in a bottle. Have you tried that?

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: The good thing about my daycare is they have extra sippy cups, so they've been trying different ones with Xander, but one day he'll drink out of one just fine and then the next day he won't, so it's a crapshoot. And I guess yesterday he drank out of a random one that hadn't worked before AND he drank it COLD. What?? That's new! I feel bad though because the teachers keep asking me for advice on how to get him to drink it and I'm all "I don't know."

I've still been giving him BM, not hemp milk, so I know he'll drink it out of a bottle if I give it to him that way. I want to get him off bottles though and THEN switch him to hemp. He's just not a fan of the sippy though.

Happy birthday to all the birthday babies today!! Aw, big boys and girl!! @Mrs. Blue: @Smurfette:

We have been having sleep issues that started right before the time change so I can't blame that, although I guess it isn't helping. He is teething, and also seems to be standing up in the middle of his crib, almost in his sleep. Guess the kid's brain is all about practicing! Last night was the worst, because he now has croup and was wheezing and coughing all night. He slept terribly and then was awake from 2-4 crying and fussing and nothing would settle him down. I hope we aren't all sick for his birthday this weekend. And then we are going to Florida on Monday. Grrr...

Day care just called. She has a 99.3 fever But her 1 diaper change, was barely wet. And her 3 diaper was dry. The teacher said that she was fussy this morning but is walking around playing now. She also said she has been drinking today. I don't know how many ozs. I guess we will give her pedialyte when we get home.
