@Smurfette: Glad it's not just me. I'm not very busy at work and all I want to do is find a dark conference room somewhere, curl up and take a nap. Tomorrow I'm the ONLY one from my department who is working and I'm going to use our conference room... door may be shut most of the day;) I think that part of the issue is that I'm not really planning on returing to work post-pregnancy so it feels like everything I'm doing is temporary almost. I feel bad saying that, especially this early on, but it's hard for me to feel like going above and beyond when I most likely won't be here in 7 months. Ughhh, just a bad day maybe?

@MrsLMA: Heck if I knew I wasn't coming back to work I would have no motivation either. I wouldn't feel bad at all! As long as you are getting your job done that is all that matters.

@MrsLMA: I feel the same way, although I work from home, so I do a lot of back and forth between my desk and the couch ...

@sheskrafty: I went and bought some at lunch. They taste pretty good. Hope they help! Thanks again!

So this might be TMI, but... last night was true misery.
I had been constipated, but that all went out the window and for some reason I had diarrhea and stomach pain.
Add to that a BLINDING headache that lasted for hours, and my regular heaping dose of nausea, and it made for a night to remember.
I was literally laying on the bathroom floor, crying, for like six hours. Please tell me it gets better?

@Arden: could it have been a 12 or 24 hour bug? Were you having chills/fever too? I always get really bad headaches when I get stomach bugs/flu's. If not, I wonder sometimes if we get so "backed up" that our bodies decide that EVERYTHING needs to come out. Hopefully this was just a one time thing and you can get some restfull sleep tonight, Did you go to work today or take the day to re-coup?

Hey all, just checking in to say HCG levels were up. That's reassuring. I have a follow-up ultrasound on Tuesday morning. Hopefully growth looks ok then.

@Arden: I hope you are feeling better today!
@savanarunner: Great news! How far along are you again?
grapefruit / 4669 posts
Poor @Arden, that sucks! It gets better...I just hit 12 weeks and when thinking back to a few weeks ago, I realized that this week I'm hating pregnancy less often. I haven't cried to DH about how unfair life is this week! (yet) I hope you feel much better soon!
@savanarunner: That sounds hopeful! I hope things are progressing well and that everything turns out okay!

Anybody else ravenously hungry these days?! I feel like I am eating every two hours.
cherry / 141 posts
@MrsLMA: Ahh no!! I've heard that pregnancy headaches are really common though. I hope you're feeling better now!
@savanarunner: Amazing news!!!! Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you!!!
@aprk: I'm actually finding I can eat less, but I'm eating more often if that makes sense. I can hardly wait for this stupid meat aversion to take a hike so I can eat a hamburger darn it!
Nothing new to report here except my back is still acting up. It's making me nuts but I have a prenatal massage booked for Saturday so I hope that helps! Oh and I'm incredibly gassy (sorry, TMI). Not enjoying that, LOL!

@aprk: I will be one day and then the next day not so much. I find that I am starving in the mornings more so then the afternoons.

@smurfette I should be finishing 7wk 6days today but was measuring 10 days behind on Monday. So I guess between 6-7 weeks.
@mrs.mousie I'm the same way with eating. I've got to every 2-3 hours but can only stomach about 300 calories. Bagels, cheese and crackers, and oatmeal pies have been my steady diet.
@torrojo Thanks! I've tried the b-6 unisom concoction but have managed to puke up the unisom tablet every night. The later it gets the sicker I get. Hopefully soon I can get them to kick in and help a bit!

My mind is playing tricks on me! Just had some reddish/pink discharge, and of course now am trying REALLY hard to feel any pregnancy symptoms. All of a sudden my boobs don't hurt? Ugh. Anxiety is getting the best of me.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@savanarunner: Man, that sucks! Have you thought about or tried a prescription med like Zofran? I avoided taking it for several weeks out of stubbornness but finally gave in and I haven't puked since--I still get nauseous but I just take a pill if I feel like I'm gonna throw up and it has made life easier. Would going to bed earlier help you? Maybe you could sleep through the worst of the nausea. I hate waking up nauseous in the middle of the night, such a bummer.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@aprk: Yikes, that's a little scary but easily could be totally normal! You could call your doctor just in case; mine said that a little spotting is normal but if it looks like a period I should call. Also, the boob thing is not a good gauge--I think the pain comes and goes for lots of people!

@tororojo: I'm sure you're right. My first appointment is on Tuesday so I hope I'll feel better after that. Sometimes I need to just say out loud what is freaking me out so that I can calm down.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: Did you have sex last night/morning? That could cause the spotting. I haven't had any spotting but my mind is still playing tricks on me. The parenting worrying starts from Day 1 for sure!! Hang there! Do something fun this weekend to distract yourself until Tuesday.
@savanarunner: OMG, an oatmeal pie sounds so good right now. Sorry are you so sick. Hope it gets better soon!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: Well try and not worry! I know easier said then done. My doctor said to not worry about any unless it is period like bleeding.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@aprk: Oooh, first appointment--how exciting! I have an appointment Tuesday as well and I'm pretty stoked. We'll have to report back here!

Has anyone gotten a flu shot yet? Doctor Google says I should get one - and I normally get one every year - I'm just scared to get one while pregnant.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@sheskrafty: I'm planning to ask my doctor about that tomorrow. From my understanding, a flu shot is much less of a risk to the baby than you actually getting the flu, which could be horrible for both you and the baby, especially with a compromised immune system.
This is unrelated, but can I confess to you girls that I had half a sleeve of Pringles with lunch today? And that I keep opening up the can to have a few more? And that I'm about to do it again now...
persimmon / 1165 posts
@tororojo Let me know what your doctor says! I had an appt last Friday and forgot to ask. And thanks because now I'd love some Pringles or some salt and vinegar kettle chips of some sort.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
Salt and vinegar...that sounds way better than the BBQ ones I'm eating! What I really wanted was the pickle flavor, which I tried about a month ago but now I can't find it anywhere!

@tororojo: PICKLE flavor pringles? OMG you must tell me where you found it.. i'm gonna go hunt it down now..

The OB nurse told me that DH and I both need to get a flu shot this year. My work usually does them for free sometime in the fall. So I will wait and do it when I get it free.

@savanarunner: Good luck today! I hope everything turns out okay!
@aprk: You have an appointment today too, don't you? Good luck!

Ultrasound today - everything looks awesome! Official due date matches my Internet calculation: March 27. Seeing the little bean's heartbeat was unbelievable. I think I'm still in shock that everything is ok. PHEW. And YAY.
Thanks for yor support, ladies!
cherry / 167 posts
@APRK: YAY! Glad everything looks good!
@Smurfette: My doctor said that a flu shot for me and DH is a must too. She sadi that the only people who are truely in danger of dying (or being hopsitilazed) from the flu during most seasons are children, the elderly and pregnant women. I work in an office of about 5000 and DH works with the public so we're both getting one (whether he knows it or not yet!).

alright gals, i did it..... i used the rubber band trick on my pants today! didn't think i'd need it so soon (9 weeks), and not sure how much longer i can keep this a 'secret' at work.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: YAY!!! So glad your ultrasound went smoothly!!! When is your next appointment, or do you have one scheduled yet?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cokiezombie: hahaha, how's the rubber band working out for you? I had to go to a Belly Band at 11 weeks, though definitely around 9, my pants were uncomfortable. You should think about getting one - it's soooooo comfortable and totally hides the fact that my pants aren't buttoned!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Adira: yes, us too! I was so nervous beforehand. Next appointment is September 24.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: OMG, that's sooooooooo far away!!!! How far along will you be by then?
