Hi all! Checking in real quick! Out gender scan is October 30th at 19 weeks! Can't wait to see if our little Jelly Bean is a boy or girl! I'm up 8 lbs at 16 weeks and feeling HUGE, but I'm not stressing about it too much.

We had a HUGE week this week- sold out current house and had and had an offer accepted on the new house that we fell in LOVE with! Moving on November 7th and it seems like tomorrow! Getting ready to pack like crazy over the next month! Luckily, we'll be nice and settled in by the time baby makes an appearance!

@legallyheidi: Welcome!!! So excited to have another March Momma!!! I do the treadmill and stationary bike 3 times a week (each for 30 minutes). And then if I remember, I do hand weights at home to work my arms. If I remember...

@MrsLMA: That's so exciting!!!! Congratulations on selling your home and finding a new one!!!! And that's awesome that you're going to find out the gender of the baby and then move into your new home a week later! So fun!!!

I kept hearing about how pregnancy can "swell" your nose, or how congestion can be pretty common. I woke up today with a crazy stuffy nose, and no other issues. Anybody else having new symptoms?

@aprk: It's true.. I never had allergies in my life and now my nose is stuffed up constantly and I'm sneezing all the time.

@cokiezombie: yeah, it's crazy. This is an endless surprise

@aprk: to make matters worse.. I always prided myself in being a quiet sleeper. Now, poor DH says I snore so loud that I wake him up sometimes!! .. I really hope this goes away after the baby is here!!!

@aprk - YES! I've always had allergies, but my nostrils are like crazy swollen inside and I'm sneezing all the time too! Keep using tissues, but nothing, until it's so dry!

@MrsLMA: Congrats on the new house!

@aprk: I don't have a stuffy nose, but I am so unbelievably bloated and gassy feeling. Blah.

I feel like my baby-related spending floodgates have now opened. Anyone else? I got my first shipment of cloth diapers the other day, and they are even cuter (and smaller) than I imagined. In total, I now have ordered 6 BumGenius 4.0s, 6 BumGenius Freetimes, 6 Flip covers, 24 prefolds (infant and regular-sized), and 1 Rumparooz AIO.

Also, I ordered one of those Cooshee Changers in lime. It's more than I wanted to spend, but I like the idea of not having to use (or buy) covers for a traditional pad. I'm not even letting myself look at other nursery stuff, but our baby room will probably be gender-neutral in colors (grey, white, green, etc).

@mole: where did you find the coshee changer? I thought they were all unavailable.

    apricot / 373 posts

@aprk: I called BabySmart directly! I think they had black, pink, blue, and lime in stock. 1-800-756-5590.

Only bummer is that shipping to California was 17 bucks. (Or maybe I am just too spoiled by Amazon Prime? Ha.)

    @mole: thanks for the info!

How are you ladies doing with your registry, if you've started one? I fear I'm starting to become obsessed with ours. I have so much time to keep fiddling with it!

@aprk: Umm... I haven't started my registry yet... should I?? I need an example registry to go off of, haha

@Adira: I do think I'm a little early, but I just got so excited! I had some time on my hands and spent lots of hours in Internet registry wormholes (aka blog posts).

@mole: Do you mind sharing how much the Cooshee changer was? I was looking on Amazon earlier and the only price I found was waaaaay marked up. I'm curious; it seems like a great product! Also, we got our CD stash as well! 18 Freetimes, a few 4.0s and a set of prefolds and covers that MIL picked out.

@aprk: My registries are done, and I frequently look over them to make sure everything is perfect.

Also almost done with my diaper stash - yay!

My infant stash consists of GroVia newborn AIO's, BumGenius newborn AIO's, and I'll also be getting some Lil' Joey's.
My one-size stash is almost done with a bunch of Bumgenius Freetimes, BG 4.0's, and Flips.

@aprk: I haven't started on yet. Waiting till we know the gender. But I am excited to start one! Even though I know that it is just going to overwhelm me.

@mole: Can't wait to hear about the gender today!!

@aprk: I haven't started mine yet- I feel overwhelmed by the process and am putting it off I guess. I think that after our gender scan I'll get in to gear more=)

Speaking of our gender scan, it got moved up a week because of scheduling conflicts!! No complaints here! October 23rd is the big day now!

Anyone wanna share some nursery inspiration =)I've been google imaging like crazy and am getting kind of excited! We decided on a "nautical/boating" theme with navy, white and beige being the main colors and pops of pink if it's a girl and pops of red if it's a boy.

@MrsLMA: Yay!!! So exciting that your scan got moved up!!! I'll update the list as soon as we hear back from @mole about her results!

Here's a picture of my nursery inspiration. Imagine the green as teal though.

@MrsLMA: Exciting your scan got moved up!

I haven't found an inspiration for a boy's room yet that I love. I have to have pink if it is a girl. DH approves this one.

  23. MrsLMA

    cherry / 167 posts

@Aidra: the teal will be AMAZING!

@Smurfette: Love love love how girly this is... but a sophisticated girly with the gray and white. I imagine your little girl (if it is a girl) wearing pearl earrings and loving to wear foofy dresses and play "tea". Can you tell I love girly girls?? =) DH wants a tomboy, hence not letting me go this direction with a girls nursery =)

  24. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@MrsLMA: If it is a girl, I am going to dress her in girly dresses for as long as I can. Funny you mention tea cause I was just telling my sister the other day, I can just imagine in my head DH playing tea with our little girl sitting at a little play table. Precious!

@Smurfette: Oooh, love your nursery inspiration! So chic!!!

@Arden: Oh my gosh, your nursery inspiration is so fun!!! I love the look of that tree with all the colored leaves - will you try to do something similar? And your second picture has such a cute antique feel to it! so cute!

  27. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Adira: I'm thinking about doing something similar, certainly there will be a tree thing going on in the room. I love soft neutral colors, so there will probably be a lot of cream, taupe, and greens.

  28. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Arden: Mmmm, love cream, taupe, and green! I'm thinking that our room will be used for the nursery for two kids, so I want to keep it neutral in paint and then just change out decor based on the kid's gender.

Had my 15 week appt today and FINALLY got to hear my babies heartbeat for the first time! It was an awesome feeling and I may (ok i did) tear up a bit when I heard it!

Babymoon is set for Nov. 2nd and DH and I cant wait!! As soon as we get back we have our Gender Scan... so excited!!!

Have to go in for an early glucose test on Monday (10/15) anyone had to do one yet? How bad is it???

Here are some of my nursery inspirations- nautical for a boy or girl... cant wait to finally know!

    @Arden: I love that tree!
@cheert16: Isn't hearing the heartbeat the best?! Where are you going on our babymoon? I love the navy and hot pink together.

    nectarine / 2631 posts

@Smurfette: A 10 day cruise to the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico! It was booked before we knew about our lil cashew- but we are embracing it now as our babymoon! I cant wait!!

  32. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@cheert16: Sounds awesome! Have a great time! We went to St Thomas for a week in Aug. It was planned before out little nugget showed up. So I guess we took our babymoon at 10 weeks.

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@cheert16: Yay!!! Congrats on hearing the heartbeat!! And the cruise sounds awesome! So jealous!!!

I haven't had to do a glucose test. Does your office take urine samples every time you go in? Mine does and I think they are testing for glucose in that. Maybe yours was high and that's why you have to do an official test? Good luck!!!

LOVE the nautical theme! The navy and green is so cute and so is the navy and pink! I'm surprised they go together so well, but they look great!

  34. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Adira: I thought the urine tests at regular appointments were to check for protein in the urine? Could be wrong though...

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Arden: I THINK my doctor said it checked for glucose AND protein, but I'm not positive about that.

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@cheert16: I don't have to do the glucose test till 28 weeks, or sometime around there.

@Adira: @Arden: I was wondering what they test my urine for each time I go. I keep forgetting to ask the doctor. Protein probably makes the most sense.

  37. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Adira: Hmm. That could be, since there are two separate lines on the dipstick, so maybe one is for protein and one is for glucose?
I know this because I dip it myself in the bathroom at the midwife's office, and unless it changes color I just throw it away. If it changes, then I bring it out for her to check.

  38. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Arden: Oh, that's interesting! I always bring the cup back and she just dips it herself. She did mention that if I suspected I had a UTI or anything, to let her know, because she's NOT testing for that. I could've sworn she mentioned glucose, but it was only once that she mentioned what she was testing for and I may not have been paying full attention...

  39. cheert16

    nectarine / 2631 posts

@Smurfette: Haha! 10 weeks is perfect! We are so excited!

@Arden: @Smurfette: Nope no regular Urine tests at my appointments. I have a family history of diabetes and my blood pressure was a bit high today so they are making me go in next week for one- then I will have to repeat it at 28 weeks. Hopeing that my blood pressure was just a fluke and it isnt acutally a sign of GD! I am pretty nervous about it though! They told me the drink tastes really bad so get ready for it.....

  40. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@cheert16: Oh, what a bummer you have to take it now AND at 28 weeks! Hopefully everything is fine though and you don't have GD!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!
