I also started feeling pops and LO turning around feelings this past week too! I was wondering about it on our babymoon and I've definitely felt it a lot more (as in at least once or twice a day) now! U/S today shows LO is actually really active but they said I probably can't feel it b/c of the anterior placenta.

@Adira: My Target and grocery store didn't have the pumpkin Reeese's, I am so bummed! Although my thighs are thankful.

@shopaholic: Isn't it exciting when you start to feel the baby! I just did this past week too.

@Smurfette: Are pumpkin reese's good? They sound weird. I think I need to find out.

@Arden: they are awesome. Even better then the regular. Christmas tree, Easter Eggs, any in the holiday shape are the best.

I do love the Christmas trees. This is a bad conversation to be having right now, I've only had a smoothie and fruit to eat all day, and I'm starving! Hubby better hurry up with that pizza... lol

How's everyone doing on weight-gain so far?

I'm 21 weeks and have gained 10 lbs. My doctor suggested only gaining 20-25 total for this pregnancy since I was overweight to begin with, so that means I should only gain 10-15 lbs more for the rest of the pregnancy. I'm nervous about being able to manage because these last two weeks, I gained 3!

  11. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I haven't weighed myself the last couple weeks. I didn't ask the nurse the last time at the doctor. I need to just weigh myself at home but I don't like the seeing the numbers going up.

I think 10 is great for half way!!

  12. aprk

    pomegranate / 3452 posts

@Adira: I'm nervous about that too. As of 16 weeks (the last time I was weighed) I had gone up 7 lbs. I really only ought to gain 20 at the most, so yikes!

  13. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Adira: I'm 19 weeks and I'm up 7 pounds. My midwife said I should gain anything from 20-35 for the pregnancy, because I was small to start with.

  14. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@aprk: You sound like you're in the same boat as me. Every week, I step on the scale, and then I try to figure out how many lbs I can still gain without going over, and how many lbs a week that is (0.78 lb/week currently), and then freak out about it, haha.

@Arden: Sounds like you're right on track! I think you'll be fine, especially since you can gain up to 35 lbs and still be healthy. I wish I could gain those extra 10 lbs, haha. 25 is going to be hard to stick to for me!

I just ordered our baby's coming home outfit. I spent way too much on it, but it was exactly what I was looking for and it just made me smile too much to NOT buy it. I get warm fuzzies every time I look at it. I can't wait to bring baby home in it in March!

@Arden: Wow, that is super cozy adorable! Definitely a worthwhile splurge!

@cokiezombie: Congratulations on the boy! We are on Team Blue as well and are so so excited!

Regarding weight gain, I had gained about 10 lbs. at 15 weeks and I was feeling stressed about being above the average curve. However, I'm now at 17 weeks, 4 days, and up 9lbs. and feel very much at peace with that. I am trying hard not to worry about it too much either way, as long as I am active and eating nutritious foods, so that I can just enjoy the experience. But... sometimes it is just so hard to stay off the scale!

  23. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@BrooklynBee41: Have you talked to your doctor at all about how much you should expect to gain during your pregnancy? I think 10 lbs at 15 weeks is totally within the norm - I'm just overweight to begin with so I'm supposed to keep the weight gain to a minimum. You might not have to worry about it as much, depending on your weight before your got pregnant! And it sounds like you're doing a great job staying active and eating healthy!!! Better than I am at least.

    @cokiezombie: Yay baby boy!
@Arden: That's a cute onesie. It makes me wish that we lived in a colder climate!

Today I had my first "stranger" comment on my pregnancy! One of the baristas at Starbucks -- someone we probably see 2-4 times per week after our morning walk with the dogs -- said, "Wow. You just started looking pregnant! It's funny how that sneaks up on you. One day, boom!" I guess the fact that I switched to decaf had given things away. Now my belly has confirmed it. Haha.

I'm actually surprised that it took this long for anyone to say anything!

  25. BrooklynBee41

    pea / 14 posts

@Adira: My doctor wasn't worried because I allowed to gain the usual 25-35 lbs over 40 weeks, so I knew it's wasn't too big of a deal. But, I was silly and used this random feature on babycenter.com that tells you whether or not you are in the healthy curve of weight gain at each week, and I was always above the curve. I know it's a silly website, not a doctor's opinion, but it still made me nervous. I hereby vow in front of all the March 2013 mommas that I will not check that ridiculous site again!

@Mole: So fun that strangers are starting to notice! I bet you have an adorable bump!

  26. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@BrooklynBee41: Oh! I know exactly what chart you're talking about on babycenter!!! I think that feature assumes you're not gaining a lot in the beginning and then you gain more later in the pregnancy, whereas not everyone gains like that. Definitely ignore it!

  27. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@mole: We don't live in a cold climate, but I figured it will still be chilly in March and I could get away with it.

we find out TUESDAY AM if it's team pink or blue! I can hardly contain my excitement

Can't believe I'm a week and a half away from 20 weeks! YIKES!

How are you ladies coming along with nurseries? We finally cleaned 85% of the CRAP out of our second bedroom - sold bookshelves, and just have a few more boxes to sort and put away Can hardly contain my excitement to start REALLY planning the nursery once we know if we're team pink or blue

  31. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

@legallyheidi - SO exciting for you! Do you have a gut instinct on what it could be?

As for the nursery - Ah! You've done the HARDEST part - cleaning out all the existing crap!
I bought this lovely vintage french-style dresser & night-stand for the nursery last week. Going to start sanding and painting it soon. I also started getting paint chips for the room color. We have the crib and mattress already (sitting in boxes). I'm still searching/saving for an affordable glider chair and just bought a cute little lamp for the room.
Here's a link to my Pinterest inspiration board for the nursery (in case you're curious): http://pinterest.com/diamonds8tulle/baby-girl-nursery/

@Aidra- you're so sweet for remembering! We are officially TEAM BLUE!!! I had really thought it was a girl so it took me by surprise!

I've been MIA a bit because we're SO busy packing the house up to get ready to move to our temp housing for a month or so before we can get in to our new house. My sister's baby shower is this weekend so I drove down to see her nursery today and tomorrow I'll start decorating/getting everything ready. Tons of stuff goin on right now but I'll be back to the boards more regularly soon! Miss you all!

@legallyheidi: We half cleaned out the closet but that is the only progress so far. We have to moved DH's desk into our bedroom so we are putting it off till January. But my goal for Nov and Dec is to get things boxed up and ready for the move.

    @MrsLMA: Congrats!

My sister told me last night that I needed to let her know when I wanted my shower, Jan or Feb. I am excited that she is excited to throw it for me!!

@legallyheidi: Umm... I haven't started cleaning the nursery... in fact, I added more junk to it today, haha. But in my defense, we're hosting a big Halloween party tomorrow night, so I needed a place to store stuff for now. Once the party is over, I can dedicate all my time to baby stuff!

@MrsLMA: Congratulations!!! And welcome to Team Blue!!!

@legallyheidi: We have all of the furniture now, although the crib is not assembled. I also ordered fabric for curtains and a bedskirt, both of which my mom said she'd make for us (hurray). We still need clear out some odds and ends that have been living in that room and then find art for the walls. The room is already a neutral grey, so we aren't going to paint.

    @MrsLMA: Yay!

In other news, I am having some crazy symptoms. I am producing so much saliva that I totally drooled when I was in the middle of teaching a class last night. Awesome. Luckily, I was able to deflect it with a joke about the joys of pregnancy. I also had a killer leg cramp last night. I suppose that I should knock on wood somewhere since, in the grand scheme of things, I have been feeling pretty good!

We are going to a Bob Dylan concert tonight so I'll get to see how comfortable I will be sitting on wooden benches.

Is anyone doing a maternity shoot? If so, when and where (beach, home, park, etc) are you taking them?

I think that we are really close to booking a photographer. The photos will be taken in January a couple weeks before our first wedding anniversary, so we want some cute couple shots.
