@aprk: That's awesome! Only another week or so until you find out!!!

Gotta try to catch up on this thread!
Looks like we have 3 team pinks and 5 team blues so far! Can't wait to see the final tally!
@arden & @aprk - good luck on some cooperating babies for your anatomy scans!
@adira - I think I'm up about 6-7 lbs, though it seems to fluctuate day to day. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow!
@mole - lol on the symptoms. Mine are more painful than saliva, lots of lower back pain and CTS/tendonitis flare-ups. I've been to a Bob Dylan concert once. It's pretty short since he's so old. But try to bring a cushion or blanket to sit on if you can and have fun!
Re: Maternity Shoots
Yes, I definitely want to do one! My sis has a couple of photog friends and has reached out to one already who will do it for free. I might still want to get a paid session depending on how it turns out and when I think I'll look cute and preggers enough! lol. I like the natural light indoors kind and probably one at the beach where we also took our engagement pics.

@Smurfette: @shopaholic: @Adira: thanks! Can't wait
I think I am ready to post my first bump picture, although it's more like half baby, half really good dinner.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: You look great!!! Isn't it awesome when the bump is finally starting to be noticeable?? By the way, I love that sweater you're wearing! Do you know where you got it? I want one, haha!
@shopaholic: Wow, you're doing awesome with the weight gain! I can't believe you've been able to keep it so low! Good for you!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Adira: thanks
It's getting more fun, for sure! The sweater is comfy - INC brand from Macy's, I think.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: haha, I'm impressed you know that! I never remember where any of my clothes is from! Thanks!

@aprk - Looking GREAT! I love the stripey top and sweater!
@adira - IDK, the last two weeks my belly seems to have gotten exponentially bigger! But maybe my scale is wrong? It keeps staying about the say give or take 2 lbs and the Dr. said I haven't changed but 1/2lb for the last 3 appts.
I didn't have any appetite in 1st tri, but it's been coming back for a few weeks. I'm scared I'll blow up at the end though!

Looking great @aprk!!
I just found out my anatomy scan for tomorrow was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Half of me is relieved we don't have to go out in the weather, but half of me is totally bummed we won't be able to see the baby. I feel like we've been waiting forever for this appointment!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@sheskrafty: I am so sorry! I would be bummed too.
My scan is at 10 tomorrow morning, and I can't wait. DH thinks it is a boy and I have no clue.

Baby Smurfette is a GIRL!!! I can't stop smiling. So excited!!!!!! Everything looks perfectly healthy. The ultrasound lady saw the back of the brain but didn't get a picture to measure it. So while she said it looked good, my next appointment, they are going to do a quick ultrasound to measure it again. Hopefully she won't be stubborn and not move her head like this time. Ok with me, we get to see our little girl another time, since as of now no more ultrasounds unless something comes up.
I did find out that my placenta is right in front, so I won't be filling kicks for awhile, since she is kicking a pillow, as the doctor called it.
Bring on the pink and dresses!

@Smurfette: Congratulations! I'm so excited for you!!!
I can't wait till tomorrow... I'm a bundle of nerves and I want it to be over with and get good news!

Yay Smurfette!!! Welcome to Team Pink! If you are a total girly-girl like me, you are going to have so much fun and temptation shopping for Little Smurfette! And yes, extra u/s are kind of a bonus in my mind.
P.S. I have an anterior placenta too, but started feeling the kicks pretty frequently/noticeably at week 19.
@arden - Good Luck tomorrow!
AFM (as for me) - DH felt baby kick for the 1st time last night!!! I tell him every night he has to "talk to her" so she knows his voice. So he puts his hand on my belly while he talks to her and she usually DOES get more active when he's talking. So last night she was kicking and there was a bigger one right where his hand was! I asked him "Did you feel that one?" and he said "no". Then he goes, "but I feel your stomach moving around a lot, like gas."
I told him, "it's not gas! it's the baby!" So then he realized he WAS feeling her kicking and moving around in there!
Anyways, my little milestone of the week!

@shopaholic: Glad to know you are feeling kicks already. I thought that I felt a couple Sat night. Ready for them to be more normal. Aww, that is so sweet. I can't wait for DH to feel her. He got home last night after being gone for 8 days and he just kept his hand on my belly all night. He was amazed how much bigger I got while he was away.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Congratulations!!! Guess your husband was wrong - how'd he take it?
@shopaholic: Oh my gosh, that's so exciting!!! Was your husband excited?? My husband hasn't felt anything yet, but I don't really think I can feel much from the outside yet - although the kicks have been feeling stronger lately, so maybe soon!
bananas / 9973 posts
@smurfette - I seem to only really feel the kicks at night or when I am lying down. Probably because it's quiet and I am actually kind of feeling for them (if that makes sense). And if I don't feel like I've felt her for awhile, I talk to her and tell her to let me know she's doing okay in there, etc. and it seems to work! I read that you should start talking to baby and reading to her around 17 or 18 weeks. Have you started doing that? Seems so weird, but I guess good practice for when LO arrives.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: He didn't really care either way, just was thinking boy for some reason. He is sick and jet lagged and doesn't show emotions really well, but he said that he was excited. We both were texting everyone right after while waiting for the doctor. We talked a name (had talked about pre-baby) while waiting for the doctor, so we might have already picked a name!

I'm feeling a lot of movement, and two nights ago when DH was trying to listen for it's heartbeat (I told him he wouldn't be able to hear it, but he tried anyway) the baby kicked him in the ear!
It was so funny, and he was so shocked. "That was the baby?! Oh my gosh!"
pomegranate / 3452 posts
Speaking of baby kicks, I am feeling most of the action nestled on my lower right side, near my hip. Are you all feeling kicks and movement all around, or just in one spot?
bananas / 9973 posts
I've always felt that the baby favored my lower left side and was over there. Last appt. confirmed she was more on that side. That being said, she was kicking my right side last night, maybe because that's where DH put his hand?
apricot / 286 posts
@aprk: My u/s tech told me that my placenta was on my right side, so I will mostly feel the kicks on the left since there isn't extra "cushioning" on the left. so that could be a reason why you're only feeling it on one side
@shopaholic: that is so exciting that your DH could feel the movement already!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@cokiezombie: oh good point. I am so curious to see what's going on in there!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: The couple kicks I have felt were on my right side. Which is where her legs are. Baby is already head down!

@APRK- Looking good!
@Smurfette! YAY for a little girl! You'll have so much fun!
@Arden- cute story! I want DH to be able to feel the baby SO bad =)

@aprk: During my u/s, the baby punched me on my right side, but I didn't feel a thing because of the placenta!
