    @katiew92081: Yeah. I was just telling DH that last night too. How on Earth do some women not know they are pregnant? I figured they must really be in denila. DH said they must be so high all the time they don't know which end is up!

    @Smurfette: Oh yes. I will talk to her and tell her to kick me if I don't feel anything for awhile!

    @keepcalmcarrie: Hi! And WELCOME to the hive and the March Mommas thread! Are you Team Pink or Team Blue?

    @mole: I know! I'm kind of excited that FINALLY strangers can kind of tell I'm preggers! Well, so far it's just been other moms at Baby Gap and Nordstrom, but still! Have you started reading to baby in the belly yet? I try to read a book to her once or twice a week! Great score on the books!

    Weekend plans...we were thinking of going to San Diego for a night, but it's been gloomy & rainy here so I don't want to waste the money for a hotel if it's not even nice enough to walk around. We have a double date for Sunday too!

    Thanks for the welcome everyone -- sooo happy to join such a nice group! I'm team green Any others who haven't found out? Do you have a feeling about the gender? I'd venture a guess that baby is a girl, but that's because a. all I want to eat are sweets ('tis the season!) and b. I've been settled on a girl's name from the beginning, but we still haven't picked a boy's name!

    @mole: No real weekend plans here. DH and I will probably take our dogs to the park on Saturday. Our football teams are playing each other Sunday, so it'll be a sad night for one of us.

    @keepcalmcarrie: Welcome! Congrats on passing the glucose test. I have been craving sweets too and I am having a girl

    As for weekend plans, we have DH's company Christmas party tonight. Not really looking forward to it. Going to be weird not really knowing anyone and being the only one not drinking. I just hope the food is good. Saturday, errands and then going to look at 4 houses. We might be going to dinner with friends that night. Then Sunday I need to make some Christmas treats and make some Christmas crafts.

    Weekend plans... cleaning. My little sister is flying in on Monday, so we need to get the house cleaned up. Grocery shopping too. Fun times, eh?

    @aprk: Jealous!! I want to be moving. Our house search is taking a lot longer then we thought it would. But at least our condo is 2 bedrooms.

    @Smurfette: it's tough to be helpful since I can't carry much and I get super tired easily, but luckily my husband is a trooper. Good luck with your continued search!

    @aprk: My Mom keeps telling me now is the perfect time to move, this way I wouldn't have to do anything and just have the family do it for me. Have fun!!

    @keepcalmcarrie: The sweets thing being a girl is definitely true for me! I never had a sweet tooth before, actually love salty stuff, but this lil girl loves sweets!

    @aprk: Good luck with the move! Better now than in a couple of months!

    @keepcalmcarrie: I've been craving sweets and I'm having a boy, so maybe sweets is just a pregnancy thing?

    @aprk: OMG, congratulations!!! What a huge step!!! You must be so excited!!!

    Omygosh ladies! Baby's kicks have been getting so strong lately, and I swear if I looked I could see her moving now, so I was lying on my side looking for the movements to show and she kicked me so hard 3x's I could actually feel her foot shape! Tried to get DH to feel it, and he didn't get the kicks as hard, but I got him to feel a foot for sure! Crazy weird, but so cool! You girls seeing movements yet?

    @keepcalmcarrie: I know I'm having a girl, but we were like you, only having a girl's name picked (we knew the first name before we even got married, haha) and, yeah, lots of sweets. But, I crave savory stuff, too. Usually I'm craving something I see on TV haha.

    I feel her kicking all the time, but I wish I was good at knowing which direction she was in! Hopefully my midwife will be able to feel her out and let me know at my next appointment. I know she's got time to turn, but I just get paranoid, lol.

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @shopaholic: A couple weeks ago, she was kicking really hard and I looked down and I saw where she kicked next pop up. It wasn't a foot or hand though. Since then I haven't been able to catch it. She was kicking hard last night, but would stop every time DH would put his hand there. He seemed so bummed cause she keeps doing that.

    @keepcalmcarrie - welcome! so glad to have another team green member in March!!

    I failed my glucose test!! They said it was borderline at 147 so I have to take the three hour test next week. I feel like such a failure!! The tech at the lab said 50% of people they test fail the 1 hour test. I wonder if I hadn't eaten those few crackers that morning if my results would've been different since the other preggos in the waiting room said if you eat anything before your test you are guaranteed to fail.

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @sheskrafty: are you stuffy or sick at all? being sick can throw off your numbers, also. Your numbers aren't that high, so I bet you'll pass the 3 hour. (although it'll be the most boring thing you'll do in the pregnacy, lol)

  16. Dandelion

    So here's my latest irrational bought of paranoia:

    I'm in the Carolinas, where it doesn't snow much. But, when it does, the whole world shuts down. Luckily, my Volvo is front wheel drive, and we live off of a major road...but still! With my history of preterm labor giving birth in February, or even January, isn't completely foreign. I could call an ambulance, I suppose, since if I go into labor before 37 weeks I can't give birth at the birthing center. But, those 3 weeks are still early March, and I've seen snow around here at that time.

    So, I guess this baby has no choice but to come at term, hahaha.

  17. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @sheskrafty: I am so sorry! My friend failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour with flying colors. Fingers crossed you have the same luck. And if not, you are NOT a failure. It isn't anything you did or didn't do. My doctor's told me to not fast before my test, so I don't think that it matters.

    @katiew92081: Ha! Hopefully baby stays put till March and no snow. But oh the things we worry about. My husband thinks I am crazy cause I come up with these situations all the time.

    Thanks @katiew92081 and @smurfette! I'm not too concerned passing the 3 hour, but you never know!

    @katiew92081 crossing fingers you don't have much snow this winter!

  19. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @sheskrafty: Ugh, sorry you failed your glucose test! @mole did too and she passed her 3-hour one just fine, so I'm sure you'll be fine! I've heard that if you eat anything, you can easily fail the 1-hour test. Do you have to fast for the 3-hour one? I'm assuming yes and that you'll be fine! When do you have to take it?

  20. sheskrafty

    persimmon / 1165 posts

    @adira I have to fast starting at midnight, but I plan to start fasting right after dinner Monday night just to be sure. I have to take it on Tuesday morning. Taking glucose tests around the holidays is a terrible idea!!

  21. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

    @Smurfette: Oh poor hubby! I know, I wanted DH to feel exactly what I felt, and he's happy with what he even gets to feel.

    @sheskrafty: Oh no! That sucks! I bet the crackers did have to do with it. They didn't ask you to fast for 10 hours before the test? I wasn't even allowed to drink water in between the test, so I would think crackers is definitely a no-no. I also hear a lot of the 1 hour tests fail, so that's why most Dr.'s prefer giving the 3 hour cuz you'll end up doing it anyways?

    @katiew92081: Hopefully baby stays in cooking longer! Do they roads get plowed regularly? I know it's so scary when we have to drive in the snow. Hope it's clear for you!

  22. mole

    apricot / 373 posts

    @sheskrafty: As @adira said, I failed my 1 hour glucose test! And I failed it much worse than you did. However, when I took my 3-hour test with the 100g drink, my numbers were well within normal range:

    140 = 1 hour (should be under 180)
    118 = 2 hour (should be under 155)
    99 = 3 hour (should be under 140)

    Good luck on Tuesday! Try to bring a snack for right afterwards as I was starving and cranky by the end.

    @sheskrafty: At least you're doing it in the morning - that's when mine was too. But like @mole said, you are going to be HUNGRY when you are done!! I went out to breakfast as soon as I was done my test! And I'm sure you'll be fine!!

  24. Adira

    Girls, I'm a total weirdo! I'm already thinking about baby #2 and when I want to try for another one, and baby #1 isn't even here yet!!! I just read my company's FMLA policies to figure out when I can get pregnant again and have the full 12-weeks off! I'm crazy!!!

  25. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

    @Adira: Heh, I'm the opposite. I've decided I want to wait four years for the next one. Granted I have that luxury being young, but before this pregnancy I thought I wanted them two years apart.

  26. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Arden: haha, that's too funny! I guess we could both change our minds once our LOs are here, though!

  27. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @Adira: It is weird when talking about #2 when #1 isn't here yet. We have already discussed to TTC when she is 18 months or so but both agree we will see how we feel once she gets here. But we do have to take in my age as a factor. Will be 34 when she is born. So I can't wait too long.

  28. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Smurfette: haha, okay, I know I'm crazy. Hubs and I have always said we want our kids close in age (I'm 16 months apart from my brother and Hubs is 14 months apart from his sister), so we've talked about TTC for #2 when #1 is 6 months. BUT we have no idea how we'll feel when the baby is actually here, haha!

  29. sheskrafty

    persimmon / 1165 posts

    Thanks @mole!

    @adira: I have already been thinking about #2 also! Luckily I've had an easy pregnancy, so we're a lot more likely to start trying after the baby is 6 months, rather than the year we had initially planned.

  30. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @sheskrafty: Maybe that's why I'm thinking about #2 as well! I've also had a fairly easy pregnancy (knock on wood). Besides the heartburn and a slightly sore back, I've really enjoyed being pregnant!

    @katiew92081: awww! That's so cute.

    Gosh that shooting this morning was awful! Is there nowhere safe?!

    Saw my OB this morning (after waiting almost 1 1/2hrs) and having my appt. cancelled yesterday. Apparently she's been called to the hospital for deliveries every day this week! Yikes!
    She said I passed my Glucose/Diabetes test with flying colors! Whoo hoo! So all my candy, ice cream, and Coke actually didn't do me in! She didn't give me numbers though and I didn't ask.
    I did score low on Iron though, so now I am on an iron supplement for the rest of the pregnancy + 6 more weeks after that. Not too shocked though, I've always heard I've been borderline anemic. Just worried about taking too much iron.

  36. mole

    apricot / 373 posts

    @Adira: I sometimes think about the spacing, but we will just have to see how baby #1 treats us! I'm 3 years older than my sibling, and my husband is 4 years younger than his sibling. I go back and forth on whether I want about the same timeline.

    By the way, The Hobbit was a pretty good movie! I don't think I'll ever necessarily watch it again, but it was fun to see in the theater in 3D. I didn't know that it was going to be almost three hours, though, so I was absolutely wiped out by the time we got home at 11:30pm. I have no idea how I used to stay up and out so late.

    @katiew92081: What a cute drawing!
    @shopaholic: Congrats on passing your test!

  37. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @shopaholic: Congrats on passing your glucose test!!! Always nice to have someone actually confirm it (as opposed to just assuming no news is good news)! Sorry about the iron deficiency though, although at least it's an easy fix!

    @mole: I'm seeing The Hobbit on Sunday! I'm nervous though because I tend to only be able to go 2 hours max without having to pee, so I'm not sure I'll be able to make it through the whole movie without a bathroom break. Oh well!

    So we had our CPR class tonight! It was a certification class and covered CPR and choking for adults, children, and infants. I guess CPR standards have changed in the past year, so some of it was new, and we also learned how to use an AED, which I had never heard of before, but I guess is pretty common. Most of what we learned seemed pretty straight-forward - the thing I really wanted to learn was about the choking, so I'm glad I know what to do now. Now I just hope I never need to use any of this information!
