    @Glitter: Yikes, that's a lot of stitches! Hope they heal up in no time! Personally I have no experience with depo but my sister used it for a bit and she had a major increase in migraines and gained a ton of weight. One of my friends also gained quite a bit of weight on it.

    So today was my first day alone with the two boys and so far we have survived. DS1 has gotten very attached to DH over the past two weeks so we had several tears this morning and refusal to nap but we got through it. Baby G also had his two week check up and is up to 8lb 12 oz. Almost a pound over his birth weight already. I'm not used to having a big baby!

    @Glitter: wow that is a lot of stitches! I'm still coping with my c section scar opening up. I had a follow up today and it is starting to heal but doc said it could be 4 weeks to be fully healed. Ugh.

    I remain torn on bc. Dh and I are honestly sort of traumatized by my labor/delivery/recovery and by our adorable but seemingly chronically unhappy newborn. We were considering ttc in like 1 yr but right now we are both like--- never again! One and done! So we want to be very confident in whatever bc we choose.

    I was on depo for 9 years, through most of high school and first half of twenties!

    Talked to doc at hospital about it and will be going back on it around 6w pp!

    I need to get on the computer to read and catch up and reply better, will try tonight, going to shower now, getting clean, what's that?!

    Hope everyone is doing the best they can!

    @Mae: I'm so interested to see if we are done after these two! A week after we had DD we moved up our ttc timeline for #2 and we were baby crazy. I think this little man is easier than DD and I am sooooo done. Interested I see if that changes, but as of now so okay if it doesn't. I always wondered what feeling done would feel like!

    @skipra: I'm the opposite - I'm not used to having a little baby. DS was 3 1/2 pounds bigger than his little brother. We had to go out and buy newborn clothes because we didn't have any. I'm yet to be by myself with both boys. I'm still recovering from the c section so I can't lift anything heavy and still have some pain.

    @Mae: The newborn days are hard but they pass quickly. There will come a time when you'll be ready to do it again. I say that and now I wonder if I want that third

    Wow, the birth control talk makes me realize I have NO idea what we're going to do in that department. I think we want a 2nd in about 2-3 years so any long term options are out. I was on the pill for years prior to conceiving and had no issues but I'm not sure what my options are in order to continue breast feeding. I guess I need to do my research, huh?

    We are definitely done, but I'm not sure what we'll be doing for BC righty away. Also, I'm fairly certain my regular OB won't subscribe anything. (Super catholic office, although I am super not Catholic myself). I think I'll have to go back and see one of the other Drs that subscribes BC after I have my 6 week appt with my regular dr. What a pain. Anyway, I was thinking of trying the mini pill (plus condoms because I'm paranoid!) for a while.

    We are doing our first road trip with babies today down to my in-laws' farm. I am hoping we don't majorly regret this! Wish us luck!

    @twodoghouse: good luck! How far?

    We are definitely done after this LO finally gets here so my DH will be getting the snip.

    40+3 here today with no sign of anything happening plan to plant some flowers today so maybe the squatting will help.

    Our 19 hour drive to east coast has pretty much been nixed for this summer, lol. They would be 21.5m and 2.5m, I'm nuts enough to try, but DH is like hell no and it's for his family, lol.

    We'll see!

    Hopefully the drive is good @twodoghouse: ! Good luck!

    Sunshine and gorgeous day here, C is napping in stroller, I'm eating brekkie on the porch, debating vacuuming or something, DH and DD are at swimming!

    @sungirl: have fun planting! We don't have gardens in at this house (just got sod in fall and grading hasn't been approved yet) but I am so anxious to have a garden again! I have a bunch of hostas I took (severed!) from our old place in pots and that will be it for my gardening excitement this season.

    Horrible night last night. G didn't poop for two days then last night had horrible gripe and exploded his diaper! Fussed all night, over fed, projectile vomited which has us worried, and I have a major toothache just to add to the fun. What happened to my chill baby???

    @sungirl: happy gardening! I hope that gets things going.

    @twodoghouse: good luck! Car rides tend to be soothing so hopefully they sleep right through.

    FINALLY on the computer reading back a few pages, some stuff seems foolish to even respond to now, so if I skip anything, I am sorry......!!!

    @Mae: How is your c-section healing now? I hope the wound is on the mend!

    I started a thread pre-DS's arrival about my 19m old wound from my last epi and asked about it at the hospital. The anesthesiologist didn't think it was it, but admitted he didn't know what else would be in that exact spot to cause the hole that was/is there, the nurse did think it's a slow healing wound, and I explained my slow healing with other parts and she didn't have anything to suggest, but you should see it now, the newest epi spot is healed already and this one finally has no lump and looks like it's healing, what timing, and finally? It will be nice to not have a hole in my back for once.

    @skipra: omg about the pee on the laptop! I am dreading diaper changes less, and less, getting more comfortable changing a boy!

    DH and I opted to not circumcise too, sort of unrelated, haha, but while talking about down there! Our doc was great about talking to us about both sides, learned our doc is jewish which obviously has him leaning one way, but also glad he gave us such an educated "lesson" on it, and left it with us.

    @Keds: Love little Rory's name! She is a cutie. The pics with DD1 are super adorable.

    @caity713: How did things go to fix the tongue tie?

    @Glitter: Eeeep about all the stitches!! Hope you get healed up soon!!! Too bad about the tough night too, I hope he flips back to chill baby so you don't have to worry! Eeep about toothache!!

    Took a 1w pp pic! Ask me how awesome it is to do up a jacket again!? I need to see if my gf that I loaned most of my mat clothes too is using the Bella bands, I forgot how much I wore them pp to contain the looseness! No idea on my weight, we don't own a scale, but really don't care at this point, get the knee fixed (step 1, MRI Friday next week!) and go from there.

    coffee bean / 48 posts

    @Beebug: Fixing the tongue tie went okay. She didn't seem overly upset during the procedure but did seem a bit more fussy feeding that night. We're still using the breast shield but the lactation consultant who was there for the procedure recommended we try to ween from the shield after she has had a week or so to acclimate to her new tongue. I don't totally hate using the shield so ultimately, I'm fine either way. I'm just happy we've been able to EBF thus far!

    @Beebug: you look great! My yummy feels so much flabbier this time and I still have like 20 lbs to lose. Bad planning to have a baby just before beach season!
    @caity713: that's so great you've been able to ebf even with the tongue tie. Hope it gets easier now.
    @Glitter: sorry about the rough night. We had a string of nights with 4-5 hour stretches followed by a couple with 1 hour Max. It's tough but will get better and more consistent eventually. Have you tried limiting dairy to see if it helps with the gas? Once I did that with DS1 we finally started to get sleep at night. @sungirl: hope you're in labor from the gardening! @twodoghouse: good luck with the car tide!

    I still have a few weeks to decide on Bc but so far leaning towards doing nothing. It took so long for my body to adjust from bcp that im not willing to go on it unless im 100% certain we're done. If it were up to me I'd want 2 more trying for the next in a year or so. DH thinks 2 is good so I'm hoping we can compromise on one more in a couple years.

    @Beebug: i had a doc appt yesterday to check the wound. It is healing.. But slowly. Doc said that it's hard to estimate but could be 4 weeks of this gross packing/dressing the wound to get it to heal!

    @Beebug: when did you start using the bands? I bought a small one but I still don't fit in it and I'm almost 2 weeks pp. I'm thinking of exchanging for a size larger. I think my tummy is getting smaller faster this time around, though.

    I'm planning on getting on the pill again. If we have a third, we'll try in 18 months to 2 years.

  23. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @Beebug: yay! We've had a relatively drama free day as well. Today LO cries if we set her down, but is at least quiet if we are holding her. Much preferable to crying if she was awake regardless of our efforts to comfort. So I spent most of the day either nursing her or letting her sleep on me... but whatever. Pretty quiet! And now DH is letting her sleep on him so I can have a little baby free time.

    I'm pretty happy with how nursing is going lately and I'm grateful that I seem to be making enough and that it is (mostly) not painful anymore except the beginning-- but I am really looking forward to LO getting more efficient! She has been nursing for 50-70 minutes every single session. I was poking around HB today to see if that is normal and it seems like most people (albeit with older LOs) only nurse like 10-30 min max and I'm so jealous. I assume she'll get more efficient as she gets older? Adding to my list of questions for the LC!

  24. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @Mae: I was an hour, hour and a half start to finish (incl burp and change) with DD, was so envious of those that could do it faster! We eventually got way more efficient with time! This guy is different, but I still look forward to nursing sessions getting smoother.

    @Mamasig: with DD, I don't remember, sizewise I don't know how mine for, but made it work and just was happy to have something to contain the loose!

  25. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

    @Mae: @Beebug: My little guy seems to drown in milk if he goes 1.5 - 2 hours between sessions and sometimes will only nurse for like 5-10 minutes when that happens. Then his poop turns green and he gets fussy i think because he is getting mostly foremilk. So now we are back to nursing in short spurts practically around the clock. It is frustrating!

  26. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

    @skipra: same here!

    G nurses for 15 minutes MAX and even 15 minutes is rare. Usuall between 7 and 10 minutes. My boobs literally squirt so I know he's getting a lot in a short amount of time, maybe too much because he threw up AGAIN and his ped seems to think he may be overfeeding. He often nurses every hour, though for short periods, which is pretty exhausting. Now I'm trying to get him to stay on for just five minutes so that he's not overfed because one more projectile vomit will mean a trip to the hospital tonight, but he gets so ANGRY if I try to take him off...

    Wow I've missed a lot! My phone is being weird and doesn't like to load the page and I always forget when I actually have the computer. Things are going well with us. R still adores S. I love it! He is a good boy for the most part. He does get fussy after eating and has a puking problem but isn't bothered by it. Just kind of gross to be catching spit up so often. I am finally trying to get him to sleep in his cradle, opposed to the bouncy seat in the cradle, so he isn't accustomed to the seat. However if he gets fussy/wakes much more often into the bouncer he goes. I figure it helps his reflux issue and I like sleep I also bring him into bed with us either to sleep on me or near me if he wakes between 6 and 7. I know some babies are early risers but we are not in this household lol. While I don't want this to become a habit...I admit to adoring the snuggles. What does everyone else do during the evening "witching" hour(s)? I feed him whenever he gets upset during that time. Also change his diaper as the boy cannot stand a soiled bum.

    @Glitter: The pedi we've seen twice (ours was away) is convinced that S overeats. He spits up all.the.time after eating. I think it may be slight reflux as he is often fussy after eating but since he isn't usually fussy during the act of vomiting she said not to worry. Especially because he is gaining weight really well.

    @skipra: I've never heard to limit dairy to help reduce gas. I may have to try that, thanks!

    @Beebug: You look great!

    @Mae: Aw, I hope your wound heals quickly! You are one tough cookie. And you may decide you want another as F gets older and the memories fade a bit

    @anandam: Congratulations!

    @cookie_dough: Congratulations! I love the name William. S was almost named that. We may use it if we have another boy one day. Glad to hear you didn't need the emergency c-section.

    @beebug- you look amazing!!!

    @skipra and @glitter. My girl is going through the same thing. Nursing every hour, sometimes twice in an hour. Her poop is regular, but I am worn out. The good news is that she seems to be getting more relief compared to the past time where she was gassy after 2-3 hour feeds. I guess I should take snacking over that. I think she might be experiencing a growth spurt again.

    In other news- we went to brunch today. Yay for getting out of the baby cave.

    @Beebug: I meant to ask but have been so otherwise consumed it keeps slipping me... how was Depo Provera for you? I'm guessing you liked it since you're going back on it again... or is it lack of options? Did you experience weight gain? How long did you take to conceive DS after coming off it?

    DH and I want another in about 2 yrs or so.. which would mean starting TTC when DS is a little over a year, at the earliest. I've heard that it can take a good 12 mnths (or more) to leave your system. I'm concerned about that, and the weight gain, since I don't exercise (though I should!)

  36. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @Glitter: I liked it! No weight gain for me, my doc always said I was one of a handful of his patients that did really well on it! I was on it so long I had to have bone mineral density tests every other year, but otherwise that was it! I had my last shot May 2011, due for another August 2011, we began TTC that Fall. Period came that October, positive pregnancy test Jan 1, 2012 that was an mc, BFP with DD Feb 5, 2012. My body definitely needed a bit of time to figure itself out after coming off it. I maybe blame (?) depo and not naturally producing enough progresterone causing the mc, but who really knows.

    I was on Mirena between DD and DS that punctured a hole in my uterus and migrated to the fat of my abdominal wall and was surgically removed July 25th, 2013 did get preggo with DS the cycle following removal.

    Lack of options is biggie, won't do an IUD again, mini pill, condoms or depo are my options, so depo just seems easy and reliable to me at this point after the IUD fun.

    Lucas was born yesterday at 2:48pm via c-section 7lbs 15ozs 20 1/2 lbs. After I posted yesterday morning things slowed down and thought we might have a false alarm. Called the drs office when they opened and she said to go on in to L&D since it was 2nd baby, we were an hour away and I was overdue. I was happy bc my dr was back from vaca and at the hospital. When I got here I was a 6/7, got my epi and progressed quickly to a 10. However baby boy was not tolerating pushing at all and my dr decided on a c-section. It was a surprise to all of us including my dr but I was just happy to have him here. We are all doing well this morning. Thanks for all the support yesterday.

    @Honeygold89: I know! I'm really lucky I got pg so soon after it came out, and really lucked out with the surgeon I got too! I had to go an hour away from home, the two best docs on this area couldn't see me til Jan or March of this year! It was June 10th I went to have it removed, when doc couldn't find it as the real fun began! Very lucky to have a baby in my arms less than a year later! But yes, no IUD ever again for me!
