@SeptMomma12: Very low, probably halfway between my crotch and my belly button. And very sporadic. They almost feel like muscle twitches/spasms. When I felt E move, it was alll the way down by my underwear line! I think it really depends on where you're carrying and where your placenta is.

@blackbird: Ok, then that's probably what this is. It's down by the underwear line! That also might explain why I can't stop peeing - I swear baby is sitting on my bladder!

  3. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@SeptMomma12: Yup probably! My bladder is weaker the second time around, too, so it's about to get BAD up in here!

@blackbird: I'm embarassed at work by the number of times I get up to go to the bathroom. Sometimes I grab my water bottle just so they think I'm going to the kitchen;) Scares me to think there's still 5 months left!

@SeptMomma12: hahahaha. I figure it's nice to get up pretty often, right? right? walking is good for you?

but yeah i'm like...for reals, i'm only halfway?! it's going to get worse?!

  6. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@blackbird: Something like that! Except I'm already waddling from this hip pain - it's not an attractive walk;)

I felt it off to the side but down low at the underwear line while lying down. That was almost a week ago and I haven't felt something that distinct again.

At least I can clearly feel where my uterus is, almost to my belly button!

Sorry I've been MIA, talking about this pregnancy can be hard for me. But I wanted to update: It's a !
It's a little bit of an adjustment because I've been trying to think of this baby completely differently than Lucas, but it will be so sweet to have another little boy. Our name leader for right now is Jonah.

They did find two soft markers for downs at my scan. Given I'm flying out to family tonight and my history with Lucas, they sent me right up to the neonatal diagnostic team who did a complete work up and found that, yes, the baby has a heart calcification that can be a marker of downs (but is no way indicative of any heart problems), but no, the baby's kidneys are totally normal. Given my great quad screen, the doctor doesn't think the baby has downs or anything else wrong, but I will probably get the Maternit21 test as a reassurance. I'm, almost surprisingly, not worried about any of this, maybe because all my worry lies with later problems with the liver so I can't believe something else could be wrong? I'm not sure, but I'm excited for my boy and to start planning the nursery

@Ms.Badger: yay, boy! And while I'm sorry you got some concerning results, I'm really glad you have a great medical team to get you more info asap. Hopefully he'll be a perfect baby!

@Ms.Badger: Congrats!!! I am so excited for you and I hope you can work through some of the mixed emotions I'm sure you are encountering. This baby will, undoubtedly, be his own crazy little person and will help solidify that. I hope your tests come back with nothing to worry you about!

@blackbird: It's funny because he already is asserting his "otherness". Lucas was always a very chill baby, both in utero and out; this one WILL NOT STOP MOVING. During the ultrasound today and for the NT, he would not sit still. I feel him all the time.

@Ms.Badger: he wants to make sure you know he's there lol! Pay attention to meeeeeeeee

@Ms.Badger: just wanted to out myself as a stalker to add that there have been a few other women on here with the same soft marker you mentioned. One was winniebee and she posted a thread about it. Her baby was born healthy and typical recently and subsequent ultrasounds showed that for her too. I'll be praying that you have the same happy outcome. Congratulations on your wild little boy!!!

@MrsMccarthy: Thanks for chiming in... it's good to hear stories of others, but I'm surprisingly zen about this. The fetal diagnostic specialists will have a look again in a month and we'll see from there i guess.

@blackbird: That's exactly what's he seems to be saying! Babies are so funny (as are mommas interpreting their babies)!

@Ms.Badger: Welcome back! And congrats on your little boy - I love the name Jonah I'm sorry you have the added stress of the markers, but sending you and Jonah lots of good vibes!

Updating our list for the latest genders! Sounds like we will have a lot more in the next week or so

I had my Ortho appointment today and after 13 weeks, I have been given the go ahead to start walking again!! No more crutches!

I am thrilled to say the least. I am pretty unsteady with my gait but it feels good to be able to move again. YAY!

I know I and @blackbird have our anatomy scans this week, anyone else?

My gut says boy, DH thinks girl! I guess we'll find out Thursday!

  24. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@jetsa: Remind me again, is your current LO a boy or girl? When's your actual scan? So exciting! I still have to wait another 2 weeks

  25. SeptMomma12

Any of the other 2nd time moms having BH contractions already? I have an "irritable uterus" so I sorta knew this would happen even earlier this time, but they are SO annoying

@SeptMomma12: we have a son, and it's this afternoon, I'm leaving work at noon!

@SeptMomma12: I'm getting NOTHING done today, I knew this work week (today and tomorrow) would be bad but darn I cannot concentrate at all.

I forgot to update last week, but we had our anatomy scan on Wednesday and it's a GIRL! We are so excited. I was convinced it was going to be a boy because everyone we know who has had a kid recently has had a girl, and I figured SOMEONE was going to have a boy one of these days so it might as well be us. But nope!

I'd post a bump pic but at 18w1d I still just look like I ate a big burrito, LOL.

@SeptMomma12: Just got a big lecture from the nurse that it's possibly too early (18-5) and they can't guarantee they'll be able to tell what the baby is. Merry christmas to you to

  31. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@jetsa: Oh no That's kinda what happened to us when we went 2 weeks ago too. (I was 16 weeks 5 days.) So we THINK it's a girl but she refused to give 100% certainty at that point. Fingers crossed yours is more obvious. I have never heard 18 weeks being too early!

  32. SeptMomma12

    @daisyfay: Congrats on your girl!

  33. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@SeptMomma12: me either! I was like no big deal if it doesn't work out then that's fine too. I was TG last time.

    @daisyfay: congrats on the girl!!

There's a girl at the dr's office whose water just broke at 20 weeks pregnant. I'm thankful my biggest concern today is if we'll find out the gender.

  36. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@jetsa: OMG that's terrible. Can they do anything for that at this point?

  37. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@SeptMomma12: idk what happened you could tell the staff was shocked and they rushed her to triage.

  38. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@jetsa: oh that's so scary. Something similar happened to someone I know and she spent at least 2 or 3 months in the hospital, high on magnesium

I would imagine they can tell you today!

    Mines tomorrow morning! Thankfully early

Scan over, baby looks great ultrasound tech said she was certain what baby is even though legs were crossed.
