@jetsa: Yay! So glad baby was good and the tech could tell! Will we get to find out Christmas morning too?

@SeptMomma12: haha yes I'll update once I start sending out my texts, probably in the afternoon when we're driving

We had our scan Friday, and impatiently found out in the room. We are so excited though- found out it's a BOY!
(We already have a girl, so this is new and exciting territory).

Busy day for scans!
We had ours today as well and it's a boy
Everything else looked good too which I am relieved about.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: thanks I'm excited! Congrats on the boy! Boys are awesome!
@SeptMomma12: said something to the ultrasound tech about the nurse reading me the riot act about it being too early and she's like I wouldn't have told A Id do it if I didn't think I could. Also my due date is back to May 19, the dr office is ignorning my dating ultrasound I guess. (A is a friend who works at the office, who moved it up for us)
So baby is measuring small like 10th percentile the tech wasn't worried but I'm guessing that's why I've only gained 3 lbs. my son was always huge so this is new territory. At this 15 month we'll check he was 90th percentile. ETA: per babycenter average weight for 18 weeks is 6.7 and 19 weeks is 8.47. I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and baby was 7.9 oz that's not as bad as it sounded.

We had our scan last Thursday. Everything looked good, although it was hard to get clear pics because baby wouldn't stop moving around haha. I *think* I saw boy parts, but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me. We have our sealed envelope and will open it on Christmas AM.
I feel like I should be more anxious/excited - but I really think it's another boy, so I guess I'm just not quite there haha.

@jetsa: wait, less than 10 pounds gained is the average at 20 weeks? Well, I'm just a big ole fatty then :O
At least I know *how* to get all the weight off properly, LOL!

@blackbird: those are weights for the baby! It's ounces not pounds, I should have been clearer LOL.

@jetsa: I'm the same. I asked at my appointment yesterday and the midwife said the important thing is I am gaining and not losing anymore due to morning sickness. She said the weight will come, especially in the second half of the third trimester. That's when I would "make up" any weight gain.
I have had to institute a fourth meal most days of "second breakfast" so I'm sure my weight will start soon!

@jetsa: baby is actually measuring ahead and weighs 11oz. I was 19w3d at the scan. First child so I have nothing to compare it to...

@MsHangry: That is awesome grow baby grow, the tech said she would like to see at least 10 oz even though she knew I was only 18 weeks 6 days but I was trying to use google to make myself feel better

@jetsa: I'm sure everything is fine. Plenty of time for the little one to grow!

@MsHangry: @jetsa: Interesting, I don't remember them ever telling me my son's estimated weight until much further along. Did they just do it by measurements?
@blackbird: Good luck today! What time is your appt?
@Keppa: Can't wait to hear what you're having! Glad to hear everything looked good
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@SeptMomma12: yep, it was one of the first ultrasound measurements she took and one of the first things she said.
clementine / 972 posts
@jetsa: that sounds pretty normal! LO was 9 oz at 18w3d, so definitely not 10, but I'm sure the range from yours to 10 is healthy!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Mrs. Lovejoy: Thanks, I'm just going to stop pondering it. No one at my dr office seemed worried.
