First child? Nope, 3rd! I have an almost 3 year old and a 13 month old.
First doctor appointment: Sept 22
Any symptoms so far? Just a few headaches and some cramping
Who have you told? DH, my best friend, and my two previous due date groups
I had a miscarriage before my first son and I'm still pretty nervous with each pregnancy. Trying to keep my anxiety in check and occupy my mind (which honestly isn't hard with two little ones at home!)
@schubr03: Congrats!!!

@lilteacherbee: same to you! Wishing you a sticky baby and a healthy pregnancy! Can't wait to chat along the way! I have a 14 month old too!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@schubr03: Thank you! Isn't this such a fun age?! I'm going to have pretty much the exact same gap again (20.5 months between the first two and now almost exactly 21 months between my second and third).
apricot / 486 posts
@lilteacherbee: It's super fun! I love that she is so inquisitive and fun right now. She loves to laugh. We will have about 21.5 months between the two depending on when this baby decides to show up. I just started a new job as a teacher last week, so slightly nervous about telling them about the pregnancy.
Edit: As I posted that I saw your user name is lilteacherbee. What do you teach?
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@schubr03: Haha wellllll I used to be a teacher, but I don't wanna change my HB name since I've been here forever I taught pre-k for 5 years! After my baby was born last year, I decided not to go back and instead, started seriously pursuing my own photography business.
I literally found out I was pregnant with my second baby a week after starting a new teaching job!

@lilteacherbee: cool! Awesome that you get to stay home! I was able to stay home the first year with DD but now I have to get back into the workforce. We'll see what happens after this baby.

I haven't been on Hellobee for so long, but I'm popping back to join this board!

First child? Second! I have a daughter who's 3.5.
First doctor appointment: September 15. It's well before 8 weeks, so I'm not expecting to hear or see the heartbeat. When I called my old OBGYN's office the day I got my BFP, I found out she had moved to Kenya! So I did some research and found a midwives' practice closer to our house. I think this first appointment is more of a "get to know you" meeting.
Any symptoms so far? Well, last night I fell asleep at 8 pm! When I was pregnant with my first, the only first trimester symptom I had (besides gagging on my toothbrush constantly) was fatigue. So maybe that's starting already.
Who have you told? Just my husband so far! I feel kind of nervous just posting here—not that Hellobee isn't a wonderful community, but it feels jinx-y to talk about pregnancy at such at an early stage. Still, I'm super excited!

@MsInformation: Congrats!! I know what you mean- it's so early, but because of my m/c four years ago, I've tried to enjoy every day I am pregnant (easier said than done when I'm super anxious!). This is our third and last baby, so I'm trying to soak it all in!

Hello!
Location: Denver, CO
EDD: May 11th, 2017 - twins, @schubr03!
How far along: 4 weeks
First child? yes
First doctor appointment: Oct 3rd - I might try to see my GP before just to confirm things are going well. It seems so far away!
Any symptoms so far? Some cramping, bloating, and crazy vivid dreams.
Who have you told? Besides you strangers on the internet? Just my husband. My plan right now is to tell our parents, siblings, and close friends after the first appt.

So I went to get my labs done yesterday. It was at a separate lab from my doctors office. I asked if I would be getting a copy of the results and they said I could call my doctor for them. Fine whatever, I'll probably just wait until Sept. 28 to get the results. But what I thought was really strange was that they didn't even do a blood test to confirm the pregnancy. They just did STI, HIV, prenatal work up (blood type, cholesterol, and I don't know what else), and one other. But I asked if any of them confirm the pregnancy and she said no. So strange right?

My head is still kinda reeling. Just got my bfp today when I decided to test since I was a few days late. Dh and I were ntnp for a year, so I had somewhat decided this wasn't going to be in the cards for us. Whoops!

First child? Second for me, our daughter just turned 3. But DH has two teens from a prior marriage
First doctor appointment: haven't called yet
Any symptoms so far? None
Who have you told? Just DH, but I'm kinda dying to shout it to the world!

@schubr03: do you know if a blood test measures something different than a hpt? Maybe they just trust that you can read a test?
@StrawberryBee: congratulations!
I turned 28 today. Took another hpt and the line is super dark. Our current debate is when to tell our parents - week 6 my dad is in the country and we can see all the parents at once, week 7 is both our mother's birthdays, or week 8, after the doctor...

@Clementine12: thanks! I'd pick when your dad is still in the country, as long as you can trust everyone not to tell everyone else before you feel comfortable having them know. With my first I told my mom but couldn't tell my mil because she can't keep a secret to save her life lol
Ps: happy birthday!!

@StrawberryBee: Congrats!!
@Clementine12: Happy Birthday! I'll be 27 on Thursday . Decisions, decisions! That is a tough one! We're going to wait until at least after our 7 week ultrasound, but I would really like to wait until 13 weeks. I get the MaterniT21 test done, so I'll know the sex then and I think it would be fun to announce it all at once to our families!
apricot / 486 posts
@Clementine12: unsure. I'm guessing that they just trust that I know that I'm pregnant. Lol.
I would vote for when your dad is in the country and you can tell everyone at once! How special!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@StrawberryBee: Ha! We have that issue with FIL! He is awful with secrets, which wasn't too terrible with our first two because he didn't live in town. My in-laws recently moved back to our hometown which means word will travel super fast in our small town!

Well, first dr appointment is set for Sept 22nd (I'm old lol, and I needed to get it in before my trip). I told three people at work this morning. Now just trying to figure out how we're going to afford double daycare

So excited to be joining this board! I got my bfp 2 days before an appt with a fertility specialist! I have PCOS and was taking chlomid through my normal obgyn but wasn't ovulating so I was transferring to an RE when I got my BFP! (turns out I just ovulated on CD24ish so I did, just was later than expected).
Location: St. Louis
EDD: May 21st

First child? I have an 18 month old DD. They will be two years and two months apart
First doctor appointment: Oct 5th
Any symptoms so far? I had a couple of REALLY bad headaches right around ovulation time, but other than that I feel great. With my last baby I didn't have many symptoms, just tired during 1st tri
Who have you told? DH and my March 2015 mama's group. My SIL is getting married in 2 weeks so we're not telling that side of the family until after so we don't steal any thunder. But my parents live out of state and are coming in for the wedding to watch DD and we're going to tell them then since we don't see them in person too often

@StrawberryBee: congrats mama! Can't believe our Aug '13 girls are 3 already. Best wishes for an uneventful pregnancy!

@delight: thank you! I know, I can't believe how grown up E seems now. 3 is such a fun age! She just started preschool at daycare and they're working on them learning how to write their names.
I'm torn between wishing I had more symptoms so I felt more pregnant, vs not wanting to feel like crap
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@StrawberryBee: Yay, mine is the 22nd, too!
@LaughLines: Congrats!! I had headaches right before/after my BFP, but nothing else symptom-wise yet, besides exhaustion (but I have two kids, sooo that's typical ). I'm 5 weeks today and I think I started getting more symptoms with my other pregnancies around 6 weeks.
apricot / 486 posts
@StrawberryBee: I am totally in the wanting more symptoms boat. I think because this is my second pregnancy and the fact that I just started a new job I seem to forget sometimes that I am pregnant. I almost wish I was having more "severe" symptoms just to keep it at the forefront of my mind. I feel bad for this little peanut that I'm not quite as in tune with this pregnancy as the last!

Location: CO
EDD: 5/17/17

First child? 2nd. My son is 2.5!
First doctor appointment: don't know yet, I need to call them tomorrow!
Any symptoms so far? Headaches (which is unus for me so I thought I was getting sick), really thirsty, little cramps here and there. I was ssoooo nauseous last pregnancy so I'm scared. Haha!
Who have you told? My hubby and my BFF (and my son)

@Emsmems: congratulations!
We're going to tell our parents next weekend - my husband wanted to wait until I've seen a doctor so the compromise is to see my GP before then. I'll see her tomorrow. Does anyone know what I can expect from this appointment, other than peeing in a cup? I'll be 5 weeks exactly.

@lilteacherbee: first day of autumn
@schubr03: yes, first pregnancy I charted and opk'd and took a billion tests to confirm I was still pregnant. And agonized over every symptom (or lack thereof). Now I'm just remembering how much I hated morning sickness, and hoping I won't be nauseous all vacation
@Emsmems: congrats and welcome!
@Clementine12: I dont remember much of my first appointment, unfortunately! I'm not sure that there's much your gp will be able to do. Too early to hear/see the heartbeat, even if they had that equipment. Maybe a pelvic exam? May order blood work, do a general checkup, ask about family history. Or they may just push some of that off to your obgyn.
persimmon / 1331 posts
@Clementine12: I think I had some blood drawn for my first appointment too? I don't remember. And a lot of what to expect with appointments, what tests are when, etc
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Emsmems: Congrats!!
@Clementine12: At my first appointment (with an OB, not GP though), they draw blood and do an ultrasound, but you would be too early for the scan I'd think. My second appointment around 12 weeks is when they do a pelvic exam.

My boobs hurt today and any bad smell at work (I'm a nurse) is nauseating but I'm not constantly nauseous. I'm afraid for that to come!

First child? Second. My son is 17 months.
First doctor appointment: I haven't booked yet, I'm on vacation.
Any symptoms so far? Tender breasts, occasional lightheadedness, and food aversion - although I am also sick with a head and chest cold, so it's hard to tell which symptom is a result of what.
Who have you told? Just DH. We are going to tell our parents this weekend.

Any symptoms so far? My symptoms began 2dpo with a feeling of being too full. Bloating isn't the right word. I had been chatting so I really relied mostly on that.
Who have you told? Two of my best friends. Still deciding how to tell my husband.
