You know what's really fun.... Getting the stomach flu on Christmas Eve when you're 39 weeks pregnant. I have so much to do and yet I'm spending the day in the bathroom. It's definitely a bug and not early labor because DH and dd are sick too.

@cheesehead: My DH is in the same boat with work - I'm going to miss spending time with him for the holidays, but I'm sure I'll appreciate him being home more once baby is here.
@Cupcake: So cute!!
@oliviaoblivia: Oh no! Hope it's a quick bug and you all feel better soon!

Quick phone update - just had my 37 week appt. 2 cm dialated, 80% effaced. My doctor said he will be shocked if I make it to my due date, though of course there aren't any guarantees. I'm excited and nervous now - I never made any progress with Jack until the last week, and even then I was 1 cm and I think 50% effaced. I was 3 cm by the time I was admitted after like 7 hours of labor! I knew the "crotch lightening" meant something was going on with my cervix. I guess things really are different the second time.

@Cupcake: so cute! Congrats!
@oliviaoblivia: that sucks! Hope you feel better soon!

@oliviaoblivia: I had it over the weekend - totally feeling your pain, and so sorry you're going through it. Bright side? A tiny bit less weight to fight off post partum Haha j/k, I know you'd rather not suffer, but I hope it is quick and dirty and not long and extended. Around here, it's been mostly the 24 fast bug. Feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Cupcake: Oh my, what a cutie! You both look amazing. Way to go mama!
@oliviaoblivia: I'm sorry. That sucks so hard.
@keepcalmcarrie: Glad to hear your crotch lightening isn't just happening for no reason.

@oliviaoblivia: ugh that sucks. Hope it passes quickly for everyone.
@keepcalmcarrie: that sounds promising!
@Cupcake: so adorable! You look great too.
Had my 36 week appointment yesterday. dilated 1cm and the baby's head is "right there" whatever that means. I'm guessing it doesn't mean much but I suppose its better than nothing. I do feel like the baby isn't sitting up as high as before though.

@SleepyMonkey: Haha, my doctor said the same thing about baby's head. She actually said "I just tickled her head". Slightly awkward haha!

@MrsHansen82: @SleepyMonkey: Don't feel bad. My OB has to move my baby's head to get to my cervix for checks lol Super awkward.

@MrsHansen82: @namaste: Haha Omg! I find it so weird that they can feel the head.

@namaste: @SleepyMonkey: Haha yep after DH heard that, he decided he can't DTD anymore. He's afraid he's gonna poke her! Not that I'm that disappointed, I'm not feeling the sexiest right now...

Thanks ladies. It hasn't been the best Christmas. I'm kind if heart broken that DD's last Christmas as an only consists of chicken noodle soup and pedialyte.
I hope you all are feeling well in the home stretch and celebrating however you do with those you love.

@MrsHansen82: Adorable! Finishing up our nursery is on my to do list this weekend.
@Mrs. Blue: Merry Christmas!
This is the one day of the year that I hope to wake up to snow, and there is nothing today, not even a dusting!
Baby actually let me sleep all night, so I was up early baking and now we're getting ready to head over to my parents to open presents.
I hope everyone has a great day!

@oliviaoblivia: Our Christmas did not go well, either, though for much different reasons. Hooray for the crib and omg 3.5 days!

@Radish: Oh no everything ok?
@oliviaoblivia: Hope you guys are feeling better!
@charmed: It was 60 here today.. So bizarre!
@MrsHansen82: Adorable!

@sorrycharlie: just had to put my parents dog down because of continuous seizures she started having late last night. Also, A refused to open presents and was generally disagreeable most of the day.

@Radish: oh no! I'm so sorry about your parent's dog, that really sucks.

@oliviaoblivia: I hope you and your fam are feeling better already!
@Radish: That is a terrible thing to have to go through on Christmas. It is hard to know how tough it is to lose a pet until it happens.
I'll be 36 weeks on Sunday. Anyone else suffering from a crippling lack of energy? It was never this bad with E and it is awful.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Espion: I've been alternating between drained and omgneedtocleanbehindthestoveNOW . it's bizarre. I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow or sunday too! still not really sure which day, lol.

So I've definitely been feeling contractions on and off all day and finally know what they feel like! I had my NST this morning and felt a bunch and the nurse helped me realize they are contractions and not just the baby moving like a crazy maniac like I thought. I've had a few hour or so spurts of them being 10 minutes apart or so, but nothing super continuous / getting any closer. Hoping this means I will go soon and not that I will just feel them for the next two weeks!

@HappyBaker: Ahh, see, I've been wondering if some of the really intense baby movements have been contractions. But everything I read says "Oh, you'll know!" So I'm glad to know that maybe I wouldn't, actually. Hope you'll be meeting your sweet baby soon!

@HappyBaker: were your contractions on one part of your belly or the whole thing? I've been feeling what seems like contractions but they are usually just my right side or the bottom part so I kept thinking it was just baby stretching out or something. I am assuming that real contractions should involve the whole uterus, but maybe not?
nectarine / 2242 posts
@pmrlady: So a few days ago I felt just weird pain at the bottom on one side, but this is totally different. These are my whole belly getting super tight and hard, and it sort of feels like a wave of intensity, that makes me stop in my tracks. If I hadn't had a NST this morning and they weren't at sort of regular intervals I would have thought it was the baby stretching out really fast because he is pretty strong and very active.
I'm sure it could probably be different for everyone though!

@HappyBaker: thanks that's good to know. I don't think I'm having contractions then. I hate this feeling of not knowing when something is going to happen, I'm 39w1d so I feel like it could be tomorrow or not for another week. And I'm no longer working so I don't have that to distract me lol
