@happygal: @namaste: @mrs. Blue: thanks guys. I caved and called the midwife this morning and they are having me get checked out at triage. Never had to visit the hospital pre-birth with C so this is all pretty weird. Plus I NEED to be out of here by 11:30 to pick up C from preschool which judging from the speed of things here and the non-emergency-ness of this visit could be tricky. it is tough cuz I am sure they will say, take Tylenol, take it easy and sorry but this is just one of the less glorious parts of being pregnant.

@Mrs. Confetti: Oh no hope everything is okay / you feel better! I've learned from visiting twice a week for NST's that if you need to leave at a certain time to definitely let the nurse know - otherwise they take their sweet time since you don't appear to be an emergency "holy crap this baby is coming out" type case.

Appt. this morning went well. I was in and out in 30 min - a record! I don't have to be swabbed for GBS since they already know I have it (urine) and she said cervical check was optional at my next appointment. I think I'll only have her do it if I feel like I have had an unusual number of BHs.

So I have been on the friggin monitor now for 45+ minutes, very obviously not in labor. They call the crotch lightning type cramps "uterine irritability". Even though I am cleeeeeeeearly not in labor, I got a cervical check (1 CM, -3station) which obviously means nothing, and the nurse expects that my pain is just very strong round ligament pain. She is checking with my midwife to see if she wants to see me, but probably not (my guess) and this has just been a long and glorious waste of my time. Thanks for all the check ins everyone - you guys are all amazing and I can't believe we are all about to have BABIES!!!

@Mrs. Confetti: sorry you're stuck there, but glad to hear everything looks ok.

37 week appointment for me today: baby is in the right position (head down and facing my back), but still high. I skipped the cervical check so no news there.
And I just realized I forgot to ask about my GBS results - they never called which usually means it was negative but I meant to follow up today.

Sorry for the late check-in today. My appointment went well. Baby is in a great position and I am not dilated. So I got the go ahead to stop bedrest! Best Christmas present ever.
Also baby is not going to be small. The Dr. had a hard time getting all the measurements because she's so cramped in there.

@Mrs. Confetti: sorry about the awful day today.

Long time, no talk! Baby cakes is here!! It's was a quick an easy delivery. I had a dr appt yesterday around 4:15 and was 4 cm dialated (I was 3cm and 80% last Wednesday at my appt. they sent me I my way. Contractions started around 1:30, this am. I called to let the dr know what was going on around 4. It's been a super busy day so I didn't hear back from her until about 4:30. We got admitted around 6am and I was 8 cm. by the time I was in bed and settled, they told me meds basically weren't an option and that I was ready to go. Pushed though 4 contractions, and my big boy was born. No stitches, success!! Baby boy was born at 7:12am 8 lbs 12.5oz, 20in, 2 weeks early! What a whirlwind. We'll be on our way home mid morning tomorrow

    Thanks everyone!

@pmrlady: I've been told I have very controlled breathing, and to be completely honest the only reason I was set on an epidural was for the actually delivery. Apparently I didn't really need it. I can't even remember what it felt like!

@Cupcake: Congrats on the little one!! Your a champ for making it through un-medicated and w/o any stitches!! Great job mama!

I'm suprised at how many Jan babies are following directions and staying put until January.....it's probably the last time they will be this behaved for a LONG time! hahaha

Nothing new going on here; just getting the final things ready for Christmas. Only downfall is both DH and I are working all through the holidays (minus Christmas Day) to save up time off for when baby gets here, so it's been a little hectic. DH had to have eye surgery earlier this fall, so he's worried about not having enough PTO earned back by the time LO gets here to take even just 2 weeks off. I'm betting great grandma will 'offer' to come up and help out for a bit, which is both a blessing and curse at the same time!

@Cupcake: and so it begins. Yeah for January babies! Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures of our group's first baby. I'm so glad the delivery was easy, and that you get the present ever for Christmas!
