So, I think I forgot to update after my appointment on Friday. All went well, very easy-peasy and not that exciting. She did try to hear the heartbeat on the dopper, but my uterus is tilted back and I have an overactive belly, so all she could hear was my bowel. Delicious, yes?
Anywho, we scheduled our NT scan for June 26th. We had previously decided that we would skip that testing (it's optional at our practice) but since we got an earlier US this time around, we're going for it. From 8 to 20 weeks seems like WAY to long to wait before seeing this little thing again, AND we're announcing to DH's family the first week of July on vacation. Since it's literally going to be like 40 people, I really wanted to see/check up on things before sharing.

@mfa_lady: thanks for checking on me!
Here's the update: ONE(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) healthy baby. Heartbeat was 168. Everything looked as good as it can for a teeny tiny tadpole! After we left, DH said he was a tiny bit disappointed t wasn't twins again... He's certifiably insane, but it was pretty cute when he confessed that.

@Mrs. Blue: yay congrats! I think it would be cute if you had twin girls this time around. One is good too. Hehe.
@mfa_lady: Also yay on your appointment! Sad you couldn't hear the heartbeat that is always the best moment for me.

@mfa_lady: Ahh, you will have your second around the same time I have my first.
@Mrs. Blue: Yay! Glad things are looking good!

@Mrs. Blue: HURRAY! Sounds the very best possible appointment. So happy for you guys--and for the little boys Blue! They're going to be such great big brothers.

@Raindrop: I know! I really wanted to hear it. But, because of my tilted uterus she told me it would be really hard to find via Doppler until 12 or 13 weeks. BOO. (ETA: Luckily, we saw AND heard it at our first US. Otherwise, I'd be a wreck!)
@Radish: Aw, yay! So glad you get one soon. I am counting down the days already....I want to see this baby looking like a BABY! (Not that I'm not obsessed with the little blob I saw two weeks ago....)

@mfa_lady: Oooo I read too fast and missed the tilted uterus. I have a tilted uterus too! Haha. That's kind of silly but I thought I would share.

@Mrs. Blue: yay! Glad you had a great appointment!
After we left my appointment, my DH also said he was sort of disappointed it wasn't twins - crazy guys!!
@mfa_lady: sorry you didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but hooray that everything went well. And how exciting that you get to tell so many people in your family at once!

I told my parents last night. I was hoping to find a cute way to tell then, and then after a day from morning sickness hell, I realized that if I still feel this way, next Wednesday when I am supposed to drive 6 hrs to see them (solo with 2 yr old and 50+ lb dog) that the drive would be hell. So I told them and then begged my retired dad to fly here and drive with me. Yay for the joy of new grand babies he was happy to oblige.

@Mrs. Confetti: Thank you, lady! And that is the cutest about your dad. I hope it will make the drive much easier for you!!

@Mrs. Confetti: So sweet that your dad is going to come make the drive with you
I'm starting to get into the awkward phase of my regular clothes not fitting, but it's way too early for maternity clothes. We have a wedding to go to this weekend and my dresses are either too tight across the chest or strapless - and my strapless bra is too small now.

How do you feel?: A little nauseas, but less so then last time. Very excited!
Child #: 2 (under 2!)
What type of provider will you see?/What type of birth do you want to have?: Hospital birth with doctor, hoping to go without medication but I didn't make it last time.
When is your first appointment?: Friday! I can't wait!
What are you most excited about?: Watching the sibling interactions, I grew up with a brother 14 months younger and we were very close.
What are you scared/nervous about?: Bringing home a baby when my first baby is still so young, how will she handle the transition? How will we show her she's still loved?

@charmed: I'm already there in part to poor food choices for the last month. Ugh!
Sorry I've been MIA, ladies. I'm still holding my breath for the ultrasound next Thursday. I feel slightly tired, maaaybe slightly queasy, but I think I'm inventing both of those in my head. Plus I seriously strained my back the other day, because E is a Stage V Clinger and he wouldn't let me put him down for hours. Now I can't even pick him up. Bleh!

@JCCovi: Welcome! My sister's babies are even closer together and she loves it. They entertain each other and little brother worships the ground big sister walks on. Plus (or a bad!), he did everything faster because he had a role model for everything. The kid walked at 9 months!

@JCCovi: Welcome!
@Espion: I strained my back this weekend, too. It is better now, though.

@Mrs. Blue: Yay! Congrats to the mama of three! Glad you got your wish granted.
@JCCovi: Welcome, welcome! I have a colleague who has two boys at about that age difference and they are best friends. They just both don't know life without the other one being there.
@Meowkers: Welcome to you too and hope you feel more at home with us!
@mfa_lady: Bummer about the tilted uterus. Will that cause any other complications except for the doppler working later?
Sorry I've been MIA for the last few days but we spent some time with friend's in Berlin. We didn't really get to enjoy too much of the city this time but then that's a reason to come back another time I really hope that LO #1 will be just a pleasant traveller as B is. That was nearly 10h of car driving in 3 days and he hardly fussed at all.
I'm getting really excited and anxious for/about my appointment tomorrow. I so so hope that we'll see a heart beat. 18h to go...

@charmed: Same here! For me, lots of my mid-rise jeans are just excruciatingly uncomfortable, and anything fitted in the middle/chest is feeling too tight. I'm wearing a lot of my stretchiest, low-rise pants and flowy maxi dresses already. I know for me a ton of it is bloat, but still. What a bummer! Just in time for summertime. Haha!
@JCCovi: Welcome!
@Pumuckl: Hey, thanks for checking on me! No complications...it's very common, just not as common as a not-tilted uterus. My midwife compared it to being left-handed. She said as the uterus gets heavier (because baby gets bigger!) it'll flop itself back up front.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@mfa_lady: Pwww, sounds good! I was getting worried you'd have to deal with complications - which you totally don't deserve after what you've been through.
I'm mainly in summer dresses and my pre-pregnancy 1 shorts. They were all falling off me last summer and this summer they stay on (most anyways) and are still really loose so still comfortable. But somehow my hips have really widened again. They got smaller once B was maybe half a year but now they just seem to know as to what to expect...
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Pumuckl: That is so sweet of you to say. So far, so good--here's to hoping it stays that way!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@mfa_lady: good to know--my uterus is tilted, too! Do you happen to know which way yours tilts? I'm retroverted. I was surprised to learn how quickly pregnancy can straighten it out--I kind of imagined it like a see-saw, tilting to other side when the baby is big.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Happygal: I'm assuming mine is retroverted, also, because she said that things are "too far back" to hear the heartbeat from the external Doppler. Like you, I was happy to learn how quickly it gets back to "normal" once baby starts growing. I also think that just because it's that way now doesn't mean it will be for subsequent pregnancies. Our bodies are so weird!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@MrsTiger: Oh man, I'm so so so sorry about your sister.
@sorrycharlie: That's so hard! We just paid off our one car and I'm so not in the mood to get another car, even though we *have* to now.
@mfa_lady: That's so great that everything went well!
@Meowkers: @JCCovi: Welcome ladies!
Yesterday was the absolute worst I've felt since BFP. Extremely nauseous all day, got sick four times, and only fluids stayed down. I had days when I felt normal but since week 10 started, I've just been feeling like a blob of nausea lol. I'm traveling at the end of the month so I'm just hoping to feel better by then.

@namaste: Oh my goodness, lady. I'm sorry you're feeling so bad! Any chance you caught a bug, since it got so bad so fast? No matter what it is, I hope you feel better in no time!

@mfa_lady: My friends said a bug is going around so there is a possibility but ugh it's just impossible to predict how things are going. I'm declining as I type!

@namaste: oh no!!! I hope you feel better soon.
Big hi to all the new ladies! This is a great, big crew
My update - threw up in my mouth at work this morning (first actual vomiting...). Awesome. This comes on the heels of a work event last night where everyone in the office was freaking out because there are 3 known pregnancies in our office right now, and our boss made an announcement about needing to band together because there will be 5 people out on maternity leave at the same time... so she just outed 2 more?! (I am NOT included in that # at 8 weeks and no visible signs yet). Then I had one of the pregnant ladies say to me in front of a big group - "what, are you pregnant, too? oh my god, you'd better not be..." So uncomfortable and awkward. I completely ignored the "accusation." Now I'm freaking about when I actually do share news at work, which will have to wait as long as it possibly can. Yikes. I will be #6 out of 25?! No one will be happy...
How's work stuff going for you ladies?
