@MrsDragon: I would definitely try to find out who booked an appointment without discussing it with you. Feels like you were just in there and had an ultrasound.
@FarmWifeGina: YAY! A picture Sorry to hear it was a bit of a rushed ultrasound and they didn't take the time to show you the heartbeat. I'm sure it's beating away in there! And yes, take comfort in knowing you have been through this twice already. Your body knows what to do.

Thanks, @Ash: and @sweetooth! I'm honestly not too worried, for a myriad of reasons, although I am looking forward to seeing my midwife and hopefully being far enough along to hear it by then. I want to announce, dammit, but I don't want to do it until we have seen or heard a heartbeat. Guess I'll just have to be patient.

@FarmWifeGina: Aww, I'm jealous of your ultrasound, but I'd be upset too if we didn't see the heartbeat. The good thing is your growth is right on track, right?
I am just counting the days until we get to see the ultrasound/heartbeat. Wednesday can't come fast enough. This no nausea thing keeps making me doubt the pregnancy, I'll be glad to have more proof everything's ok. And maybe if I complain about no nausea enough then I'll jinx myself and get it and I'll relax! haha

@MrsCB: Lol, reverse psychology is awesome! Yeah, Cricket's measurements look great, I KNEW I hadn't ovulated when I was supposed to (wouldn't have pregnant if I had, lol) and I'm glad I insisted on a dating scan, even if I didn't see everything I wanted to, especially since my uterus is so big already.
I can't wait for your u/s now, MrsCB! Hoping everything looks good! Don't worry about no nausea- I've had two successful pregnancies with no nausea to speak of, or so little I can't remember it and tell people I don't get morning sickness, lol. I hope it's this easy for you too, and not a sign of problems!

Just made an appointment for the 16th. I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow, and my doctor said yesterday to make an appointment for "2-4 weeks out to hear the heartbeat." Yay! I'll be 10 weeks + 4 days at that appointment, so I'm hoping we can get the NT screening set up for whenever that needs to be done.

@Cara M. 17: @ms.janedoe: I have my first midwife appointment that day too :). It would've had an ultrasound, but I'm doing that next week with my RE and the midwife's office didn't need to see one again so soon after. I probably shouldn't have mentioned it so I could get another one, lol.

@ms.janedoe: yay, I'll be 10w4d at my next appointment too! Mines not until the 25th though.

A little update -- the clinic called me today to tell me it was the walk-in doc who requested the second ultrasound, because the baby's heartbeat was a bit slow on the first. So now I know what's up, but I still feel unsettled.

@MrsDragon: Being precautionary is good. Just think, you'll get to say hello to your baby again I'm sure it is unsettling, but hopefully everything is a-ok.

@MrsDragon: What time is your appointment today?? I'm sure everything is fine--they're just playin' it safe!!

@ms.janedoe: It's at 3 pm CST, so still a few hours to go!
Thanks, everyone -- I'm really hoping things are okay.

@MrsDragon: good luck!! I'm sure everything is okay. Just think, it's good they are checking in just to be sure. At least you get to see baby again

@MrsCB: I keep thinking the same thing. Still no symptoms so if I didn't POAS on 3/25 I would stillbe clueless that I'm pregnant! I feel better after having my u/s at 6w1d and talking to the nurse at my OB/GYN's office on Monday, but I am still nervous.
@MrsDragon: Good luck today!

@sweetooth: Oops, late to the party. Mine is on April 10 for bloodwork!
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
Phew! The tech said he didn't understand why the doctor ordered another ultrasound because the first heartbeat looked fine to him. We're at 150 bpm which should be fine. Baby jumped two days in measurements, though.
Hopefully this is it for drama! Our first ACTUAL regular prenatal appointment is on the 12th.

Just saw the actual report from my u/s last week (it just got released to my online medical records) and they mention several times that FHR is below average, although not uncommon at early gestation, but suggest a follow-up to confirm development. I questioned the lower FHR with the nurse when she called on Monday and she acted like it was no big deal, but now I feel worried again, especially with my lack of pregnancy symptoms. I won't be seeing the midwife until the very end of the month

@anbanan15: I hate how the offices just brush things off. I'm sorry! I'll say a prayer for you and baby. What was the fhr, if I may ask?
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Ash: Thanks! Report says 111 BPM (I thought the tech said 112). I was exactly 6 weeks and the nurse at my OB/midwife's office said things (the heart) were just starting up around 6 weeks which is why it seemed lower. The tech had a very hardtime getting a "good" number taking 5-6 measurements before she was satisfied, but I saw the heart beating away on the screen.

@anbanan15: I would call and question it now that you've read the report online. And I would definitely ask if they could do another u/s, even if it's at the end of the month with your appt. I wouldn't worry about lack of symptoms... the little heart was beating away!! :))
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Ash: I did question it when she called on Monday and said the tech told me it was 112 (must have misheard her) and she seemed to have a very hard time even getting one and she explained to me how things were just starting up and that's not uncommon for only being 6 weeks. I'll see if they do another u/s when I go back in. They check FHR with a Doppler each appointment too. I never went this early with DS. Our first appointment wasn't until after 15 weeks and first u/s wasn't until 16 weeks (remeasured 17 and moved my EDD with him).
honeydew / 7909 posts
@anbanan15: after consulting doctor google, 111/112 is a great heart rate. :)) I'm just a spaz and question everything the offices tell me... because I know how it is to BS.
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
@anbanan15: We just went through something similar. I don't know what the heart rate was at during our first ultrasound (at 7 weeks) but the tech said it was fine and the doctor was being over cautious. I hope it's something similar for you!
