@MrsTiz: Doing an ultrasound, I assume a dating one? Although it's with my RE so they know when I ovulated. Maybe it's just a viability scan? Ha, I have no idea. Just hoping to hear the heartbeat :). DH is going to video it for me. Good luck at 2!

@MrsCB: @digapony: Good luck today!
I finally got my beta results back! As of Friday they were at 61,000! They are scheduling me for an ultrasound since I should definitely be able to see the heartbeat.

@MrsTiz: oh gosh, I feel you on the veins thing. It takes them seriously at least 15 minutes every time to stick me. I have tiny veins and apparently they "roll" or something whenever they stick a needle in there. It's awful!

@lilteacherbee: I don't know why they don't take me seriously, they are MY veins after all!

@Mrs. J: Thank you! Definitely relieved.
@mrstiz: I have to ask for the kid needles when I get my blood taken. It goes much smoother when I do.

Ultrasound went great today! Baby's measuring exactly on track at 7w3d, and the heartbeat was 150 :D. The only bad thing was that due to the ultrasound machine the tech was using we couldn't hear the heartbeat. But seeing it was pretty cool, too.
Here's our little blueberry: (FYI, the round thing is not a head, it's the yolk sack)

@MrsCB: Congrats on the baby blob! Hahahah, I totally thought the yolk sac (seriously hate that word...it sounds...gross) was the head!

@anbanan15: That would be amazing to have 2 holiday babies!!!
ETA: my mom was born on thanksgiving and the story of rushing to the hospital and her uncle burning the turkey, etc are absolutely awesome I think she's hoping to be birthday buddies with baby 2!

Ladies, my appointment was so great! The baby was measuring right on track at 10 weeks 2 days. We got to hear the heartbeat (158 bpm) and see the little bean flip and flop and swim around. It was amazing. The practice also seems great; they are big on collaboration between doctors, nurse midwives, and the patient. I'm very excited.

Okay, so my appointment was just blood work, or so I thought.. they actually ended up doing an ultrasound, blood work and a pap, they took swabs to run tests and all that.
I felt bad because I didn't have DH come along and the ultrasound was AMAAAZZING. Baby is measuring 9 weeks 4 days and heartbeat was 177! They zoomed in and (s)he was waving their arms all around and waving at me. It was so surreal.
Then when I went to talk to my OB, I was not too thrilled because she was drama last time (I had like 3 threads about it lol!) but she was so so great. She was laughing, joking around, called me "mama" and was genuinely excited for me. I'm going to chalk it up to her just not being nice about delivering bad news, but she was so wonderful yesterday so I was relieved.
eeee!

@Running Elley: Yes holiday babies are awesome! I'm just glad for DS (and potentially this baby) that their birthdays fall on a rotating holiday, so one year they get to share the joy of their birthday being a holiday and the next several they get a "normal" birthday
@DigAPony: ahhhh it's a baby!! Sooo awesome!
@MrsTiz: Glad your appointment went well and you got to see your baby!
@Cara M. 17: exciting!!
