@MrsTiz: Lol, because I live in rural North Dakota, that's why. Everything is that far away. Well, I take that back- the closest Wal-Mart is only 75 miles away. But it's 95 miles to Target. I could go to the local hospital (only 50 miles away), but I don't like any of the doctors that deliver babies there and none of them will serve as backup for my home birth.

@lilteacherbee: Good luck!!!
I walked in to our clinic in hopes of getting some nausea meds today, and while I was there I mentioned my left side pain so the doctor booked me in for an ultrasound right away. It was totally nervewracking waiting but all is well!! Baby has a heartbeat, loud and clear.

So, we have a heartbeat!!! 125 bpm which they said is really good for 6 weeks! My calculations based on O date has me at 6w4d but baby measures 6w1d. The dr said that's completely fine and everything looks great I'm still so amazed!!
I asked if I could come back for another ultrasound before the NT scan (my m/c was found at my 9 wk ultrasound). They have me scheduled for another appointment/ultrasound in 4 weeks! My dr was totally understanding (first time I've seen this one- I usually see another dr at the office). He said I have "precious pregnancy syndrome" which is what he calls it when women have previous losses bc these next pregnancies are so precious to us. He says he completely understands why I'm worried, but he doesn't see any reason to be at this point

Looks like I'm joining you ladies!
I had an u/s today and baby measured 6w exactly. Heartrate was at 112. Still waiting on official word from my OB/GYN about where things are at and my EDD, but I am guessing around 11/22 (joked with DH that baby will be born on Thanksgiing since we have an Easter baby already).
My first OB appointment will most likely not be until 10 weeks.

Hello! I'm a new member to the November pregnancy boards! I had my 4th and final beta test this morning, with great results! They wanted me to schedule my ultrasound for next week but we're headed away on vacation. So now I have an ultrasound scheduled for THIS FRIDAY!!! Crazy! I'm so excited you guys

Aaaaaah! I am going CRAZY waiting for my appointment on Wednesday! Actually, two appointments since the ultrasound had to be scheduled separately. But AAAAAAH! At least the doctor's appointment is early (especially since in a different time zone, lol) and the first thing I'll do when I get to the city. Then I won't be wandering around Target all ADD and not getting anything done ahead of it, lol.

@sweetooth: yay! welcome!!!
@FarmWifeGina: I'm going crazy too... mine is 2 and a half weeks away! Feels like forever!

@Ash: Aaah, that IS forever! That's how long it's been since I found out I was pregnant and scheduled this first appointment! Didn't feel like forever until today! I think I'm so much more excited for this first prenatal than the others (not that I wasn't excited for those, but yeah, I really, really pumped this time) because I don't have a clue about my EDD and I NEED to find that out! Need, need!

@FarmWifeGina: ahhhh, you're right!! That's how long it's been since I got my bfp... but I think the time has gone by pretty quickly. Hopefully it continues! :)) I'm excited to find out your EDD too!
