Big hugs to everyone! Thanks for the support. Jack and I are having a terrible time nursing, they say it's because he's a preemie and is still full of Mag so he's too sleepy to nurse so were feeding him with syringes of pumped colostrum.
Long story short, got an epi at 4 cm, it was worn off by 9cm and I got to feel all the pushing in its miserable detail haha. I can't imagine of he were bigger! No tearing so I'm having an easy recovery, minus the Magnesium that I have to be on until 9 tonight. If you've ever wanted to know how it feels to be absolutely defeated just get on Mag for 2.5 days. I can't even make sentences and can't see straight with two eyes open so I'm typing with one eye and lots of spell check haha. It's rough to not be able to see your baby clearly. I'm so ready to move to the recovery floor. DH was a. Rockstar. So impressed with him and his support.
Again thanks for all the well wishes! Il post some pics later of this blonde haired cutie

@MrsTiz: OH MY GOSH, I missed out on so much, but CONGRATS! You made so a beautiful baby!!!!
And, after 9 straight days, WE HAVE POWER!!!!! That is all. Albeit, not as exciting as a new baby! Can't believe (although the odds get better with each passing day) we already have a November baby!

@MrsTiz: Gaaaah!!! Thanks for the update!!! SO happy you are all doing well! The mag sounds gawdawful...bummer that you're going through that, BUT, so great that you have your little man here safe and sound!! He's a blondie?! Pics!!!
Good job, momma, and props to your man, too!

@MrsTiz: Before you know it, Jack will be a nursing champ. Hope you're starting to feel better after being off the Mag for 12hrs. Such a yucky yucky drug - even Jack knows!! Can't wait to see more pics! So proud of you!!

oh.my.gosh. the fatigue is back with a vengeance! I'm so freakin exhausted these days - and I'm sleeping like a rock at night. And starting yesterday, I hate eating - after a few bites, I'm full and feel like I'm going to throw up. Anybody else?!
grapefruit / 4800 posts
@Ash: Yes, def feel the fatigue and weird eating. Smells are irritating me again too like they did in the first trimester. I slept a lot this weekend and then last night I couldn't sleep because of all the acid reflux and just restless in general.
I just remember the last couple weeks of pregnancy sucking with the last one but it makes it that baby out is soooooo much better than baby in, all the sleepless nights when baby comes it's like at least I have this lil warm body to snuggle with and no acid burning my throat at night.

@Maysprout: I was a cranky, uncomfortable mess when I went to bed last night. Poor dh! It makes me not want to eat. I feel like a bag of poop and all I had was a bowl of cereal this morning.
pear / 1571 posts
@Ash: I feel that way sometimes if I eat too much. Not fun. Also, if Cricket starts moving too much right after I eat. Or if I get too hot while cooking, such as over a wood-burning stove, yuck, then I feel just plain gross.
Has anyone else seem/felt their little one practice breathing from the outside? I've never experienced this in my other pregnancies, but I've heard a few women talk about it. It's so cool- and a little freaky!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@FarmWifeGina: I think eating "too much" is the amount of what I would normally eat. / I've never even heard of that!! What would I be looking/feeling for? All I feel anymore is a little acrobat in my belly rolling around like a worm.
pear / 1571 posts
@Ash: Honestly, one friend posted about it on BBC and she got laughed at, so it's not super common. I've only noticed it when Cricket's butt/back is pressed against one side or the front of my stomach, then it's real fast, rhythmic movement, it reminds me of watching a dog panting.
grapefruit / 4800 posts
@FarmWifeGina: That's really neat, I don't think I've felt that though during the ultrasound they said they could see her taking practice breaths.
@Ash: Yeah it's tricky to eat enough, I have no solution since even snacks give me heart burn.
Anyone getting pressure to visit people? In Sept I did a lot of traveling, but now I'm done, my due date is in 2-1/2 weeks and people keep trying to get us to come visit, not places too far away but I still don't love the idea of going 2 hours away, it seems like pointless nonsense if I do end up going into labor to have to drive back to the hospital.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@FarmWifeGina: I have! I know many women say its not possible, but I felt/saw it at the same time as my ultrasound when the tech pointed it out. I've seen it a few times since, too. Its similar to hiccups, but its also way different/more smooth motions. I've even held my breath to make sure it wasn't me. Pretty cool!!

@Maysprout: I'm not getting pressure to visit people because we all live fairly close to each other, but they are all wanting to be at my house for weeks after the baby is born. My MIL told me last night that she is taking off work for 2 1/2 weeks after the baby is born. She said that she would take the baby while my mom and I go Christmas shopping... Umm It's likely that I'll have a c-section and I'm not sure that I'll want to be away from my baby when he is 2 weeks old. She lives 45 minutes away, so if she's not working, I feel like she'll be at our apartment.
Also, I feel kinda selfish, but I'm only taking 8ish weeks off. I know I'm going to want *some* help, but I want to spend as much time with him as possible before I go back to work.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@FarmWifeGina: I feel/notice all kinds of crazy things going on in there and I don't know what any of it is. This only reassures my need for a window!
@Maysprout: We have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks - 3 hours away - I'll be 36 weeks. I feel the need to meet up with people before baby comes but at the same time, I want to be doing nothing, which is probably what I'll do!!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@lilteacherbee: I got all of our Christmas shopping done so I wouldn't have to worry about it after baby comes. I don't like the idea of people wanting to stay with us for a couple days a week after - seems like too much work on my part. But I can't say no.

@Ash: I hear you on the fatigue...not so much the sleeping like a rock part. SO jealous of that! I'm up at LEAST 4 times a night to pee, and wake up sooo freaking uncomfortable/sore. I haven't had too many issues with food...just trying to eat as much as I can of whatever I can before I can't justify it anymore (by saying I'm pregnant)!
Baby girl is still SO high...I feel like she might be starting to try to make her way down, my hips/pelvis like..."inside" towards my crotch are starting to ache, and I feel like some of her movements are a lot different than they have been in the past...here's hoping! In the meantime, she is still wedged riiiight up under my ribs. Blah. I go in today for my 36 week (and 3 day!) appointment and GBS test. I'm curious to see if I get an internal exam as well.
I seriously CANNOT believe I'll be 37 weeks on Friday--it's DH's last week of traveling this week, and then he's home (working out of the office) pretty much through the first week of December! So weird to think it's officially babytime--and a huge thanks to @MrsTiz: for kickin' it off for us! Again, SO happy for you, lady!!! I'm happy you got your littleman here and can now enjoy him from the outside!!!

@Ash: OMG, Christmas shopping... I haven't even THOUGHT about that. Luckily we don't have too many people to shop for, and I think we'll be able to pull off the gift card route for most of them. Whew!

@ms.janedoe: This is the first time I can say I've been sleeping well - It's either middle of the night insomnia or I'm waking up to burning hip pain. I'm just so freakin tired anymore! Which I guess isn't the worst thing in the world. We don't have a lot of people to buy for (only 2 nieces which are done!). I told dh he is in charge of gifts for his parents. I'd like to say this little in utero turkey is dh's christmas present from me!
And you have the right idea - can't go wrong with a gift card!!!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@ms.janedoe: I feel you on the sleeping. I didn't fall asleep until 1am last night and then I woke up 3 or 4 times because I was so uncomfortable. Today is a teacher workday and I'm barely making it. If the kids were here today, I would be so miserable!

@lilteacherbee: Dude, I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are such a freaking saint for doing your job! I seriously cannot imagine dealing with a class of kiddos right now. Hell, for me, keeping up with the November board is takin' all I've got!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@ms.janedoe: Haha well thanks My patience is definitely being tried these days. Its rough, but I'm so used to it that I get bored if I'm not doing anything (like this past weekend). I was sitting there trying to find something to do because I'm used to moving around all day. So, I just started nesting haha

@Ash: I hear ya on the exhaustion. It seemed to hit me like a wall over the weekend. A nap and a very small latte were my saviors And believe it or not, when I get my walks in the fresh air helps too. Which also helps me sleep like a rock.
@Maysprout: No pressure to visit people here. Be sure to let them know they can stop by and see you
@FarmWifeGina: Wow, that sounds so cool! I have noticed some little rhythmic beats but I always think it's hiccups. I'll have to pay close attention.
@lilteacherbee: You're not selfish at all! I agree that it's hard when the help is offered, but you know you will want to maximize that one-on-one time with your little guy.
@ms.janedoe: Hope your 36 wk +3day appointment goes well today!

I'm still in disbelief that we already have a November mama! I am so happy for @MrsTiz

@sweetooth: thanks lady
Baby pictures! (We will take some better ones later on it's just hard to pull a phone out when this kid is snuggling you. He is such a sleepy cuddly baby. He loves to be held and hardly ever cries, we've only heard a real cry once other than being born) not a good one to show off his hair but I swear it's blonde! So thrilled by that

@sweetooth: when I walk, I feel worse because of my hips. Maybe I need to shorten the length of it.

@MrsTiz: GAaaaaaaah!!! Yessss!!! I diiiiie! He's adorable! You look freaking fabulous, as well! Well done, momma!

Appointment went well--measuring right on at 36cm, I've gained 30 (whooooa, momma!) pounds, BP was fine at 120/62 (or something...), babygirl's heartbeat was 150 bpm, and the GBS swab was fine! I guess I don't have to go back in for another 2 weeks, which is when they'll do the first cervical check. That's fine by me, as I guess there isn't a whole lot going on otherwise! She offered to do a check today, but seeing as babygirl is still hanging out super high, and I'm just at 36 weeks, I didn't really see much of a point--next time though, I'm totally in!
Anyway, I got out of work early, just finished a Taco Bell feast for lunch, and am thinkin' of taking a nap here to round out the afternoon...big plans!

@MrsTiz: Congrats! I KNEW you were going to go first! (@lilteacherbee: is also one of my hunches that will go early). He is precious!!
I've given up on trying to catch up on this thread any obviously I've missed something pretty awesome! Anything else I need to know happening with you lovely ladies, because I don't have the energy to read everything (but really want to).

@ms.janedoe: Yay for a good appointment!!!
@anbanan15: I like your thinking Hopefully, you're right!! I've been feeling pretty crampy lately (like period cramps) and I'm now 35 weeks (doctor won't stop labor now). I'd like him to bake for a couple more weeks, but I'm just sooo impatient!!!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@ms.janedoe: Yay for a great appt! I've gained 30lbs too - but you were smaller than me to begin with you deserve a nap!
@anbanan15: what might be your hunch for me? Lol! I assume I'll go late and I'm okay with that - I being pregnant! Buuuuuut, I can't wait to meet this little person!
