@Cara M. 17: I had wanted to do freezer meals, but have done absolutely nothing on that front! What are you making?

  2. Cara M. 17

    clementine / 825 posts

@Mrs. J: So far I've made crock pot BBQ spareribs and teriyaki chicken (this one made 2 servings). This weekend I'm planning to make a pesto and scampi sauce to freeze. Also on the list are turkey meatballs and marinara, minestrone soup, turkey chilli, some sort of Mexican chicken that goes in the crock pot, and a few others I can't remember at the moment

@Cara M. 17: I have made two lasagnas that are in the freezer and prepping more freezer meals is what is on the agenda for this weekend. I was thinking some soup, marinara sauce, grilled chicken strips, chili....not sure what else.

@sweetooth, @ash, @ms.janedoe: Oh don't worry ladies, I am a Nov mom even though she's going to be an Oct baby!

I just talked to the Dr. and I am officially scheduled for a c-section on Tues, Oct 29th, but that will probably get switched with another one of her patients to Monday, Oct 28th.

@NeekieRose: yum! Lasagna is one thing I am not good at making. What kind of pasta do you use for yours? October 29th is so soon!

@NeekieRose: Oh wow! So soon! 18 DAYS!! AHH! I'm freaking out for you haha.

I don't know if I want to do freezer meals anymore, I think i'm just going to stock up on things that can be made in the crockpot, or easy stuff to heat up. I don't know why I don't trust freezer meals, I just worry that I'll spend all this time fixing them and they'll freeze nasty. I also don't want to do any extra cooking because I hardly cook as it is ha!

A nurse from my OB office just called and they got my results back from the bloodwork they did Tuesday, she said my iron has dropped significantly since I had all that white blood cell count drama, even though i've been taking Iron daily.. she said I need to get it straightened out STAT or i'll have a pretty good chance of hemorrhaging & needing a blood transfusion during the birth. Um, wtf.. Way to freak me the F out! I think that could have been worded a little bit better but I guess it's really, really low? Gahhh it's always something.

Yum, freezer meals! I need to work on that too. I'm planning to make lasagne and some kind of enchilada casserole, maybe a burrito casserole too. We cook a lot and it will be nice to have a hot meal to just throw in the oven.

I used to say "yes" to everyone coming over to visit, but I didn't really enjoy my first maternity leave and I partly blame all of our visitors and activities (2 demanding families!). Now I'm telling people they may stay 1-2 nights with us if they want to but if they are coming for a longer trip, to stay elsewhere. We have lots of family around so folks can find someone else to stay with. I am just waiting for people to say, oh you'll need and appreciate the help with your older son, but like someone said (on a previous page! Sorry I forgot who!), I know myself and I love being at home with just my little family. Honestly, yes its hard but it is not THAT hard, especially with a supportive husband around. And we put DS in his crib for naps from the start so its not like we needed someone to hold him so we could do other things. We liked holding him ourselves

I don't think I'm going to make any freezer meals ahead of time, but I am going to get my mom to do some while she's here. I do like the idea of prepping a bunch of stuff for crockpot meals and freezing that, too. So nice and easy when you're home all day to just dump stuff in a pot and eat it 8 hours later.

@NeekieRose: Wow, so exciting to know the date!

I started freezer meals last weekend with a batch of chicken curry. My plans are for lasagna, enchilada casserole, chili, marinara or meat sauce, and soup. I'm not too worried about using them for dinners because DH likes to cook. But I want to have some quick food to heat up for lunch during my maternity leave. I know I'll get tired of eating cold sandwiches!

I have my 36 week appt tomorrow. Last week my midwife was only 99% sure the little dude was head down. He's always been a bit crooked in there. So I might get an in office ultra sound to double check. I've only had a quick one at 9 weeks to see the heartbeat and the 20 week anatomy scan so I wasn't planning on seeing him again before his birthday. DH can't go to the appointment so I'm considering not looking and just having an image printed out.

I'm pretty sure LO is dropping because he feels so low and heavy. I've had this weird pressure in my butt yesterday and today (sorry TMI) where it feels like you have to poo really bad, but I don't? Anyone else? I'm gonna assume he's just down low now. I don't know.

@Cara M. 17: I have/had big plans to freeze up some meals but so far, just like @Mrs. J:, I haven't done anything. Not sure that I will. I feel like I have so many other things to do!! I think my mil was gonna make us a few... maybe I can get my mom to do the same!!

  13. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@MrsTiz: possibly could be the case! Does your belly look any different?

I felt crazy acrobatic movements this morning and think the little person decided to go transverse on me! I have an appt tomorrow so we'll see! Wrong way baby, wrong way!

  14. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@Ash: not to me, I think he has dropped though because he's felt really low for about a week but this pressure is new! I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest so I'm not so sure if he has dropped or not! I wish I could see him in there and figure out what's he's doing.

@MrsTiz: Everyone is telling me that he's dropped, but I can't tell. I have such a short torso that I honestly can't see a difference. But I have experienced some new feelings way down low the past few days.

  17. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@lilteacherbee: that's how I feel, I don't notice a drop at all. DH thinks I have but I can't tell. He looks the same to me! I didn't notice a drop in your pics either so maybe we just don't have an eye for it

Back to being tired and semi-hormonal. I had gotten a lot of energy the last couple weeks and now I'm back to feeling tired again. Yesterday I saw an awake newborn at the grocery store whose brother was trying to play with him in the cart and it made me tear up because it was so cute - but at least it's not the irritated hormones I'd been having. And I can't stop eating.

@NeekieRose: Wow can't believe how close you are!

  19. Mrs. J

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@lilteacherbee: Everyone is telling me I dropped a little, and I think I may have based on less rib pain, more back pain. The midwife also thought the baby was a little lower yesterday--not engaged, but making it's way down!

Tonight is my first shower--yay! I have one on Sunday too.

Anyone else think she might be losing pieces of mucus plug? I think we're beyond TMI here lol...I had some discharge this morning that was kind of like pieces of snot.

oh! update from my appt: I had the GBBS test yesterday, and I will find out next week if it was pos/neg. Also, as we know this means nothing but it was still fun to know, I am one CM dilated and starting to soften up in there. Wahoo!

  20. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@Mrs. J: Yes on the mucous plug! I called my OB about a month ago because I had some green snotty discharge, & she said I was probably just losing parts of it..I've been seeing a LOT of it the past few days so I think that's what it is. So jealous of your dilation! I think you're the first of us to have the GBBS test, too!

I feel really really off today. I've been having some pretty intense BH where it feels like my whole belly is on fire, and the pressure in my butt hasn't eased at all. My mom had me take some gas medicine yesterday but it didn't do squat, so I don't think the pressure is gas. (We're past TMI, right? ) My BH have no rhyme or reason as far as spacing goes but I don't know, I just don't feel right. Hmm.

We picked out our pediatrician last night :). We met with a group a couple weeks ago that a friend recommended and I really wasn't that big on them. We met with a different office yesterday and really really liked the doctor. She very much had the philosophy of you have to do what you feel is comfortable with your child. Whereas the other practice seemed to just want us to do things their way.

My pelvic pain has gotten a little bit better, but man I am SLOW moving. And sleep is kind of killing me. I was exhausted last night and went upstairs around 8 and dozed off a while later and only woke up a little when DH came in around 10. But then I was up at 12:30 for an hour, hour and a half. This is the 2nd day this week where I woke up in the middle of the night and was up forever, and I feel like a zombie. I've been thinking about asking my boss if I can start to work from home soon because I'm just so tired. At least at home I can stay in bed later and I don't have to worry about the commute time.

I don't think baby has dropped at all for me, I can still feel all of her lumps and bumps RIGHT at my rib cage! There's been no sign of and mucus plug action yet, which I didn't expect. I had big plans to make freezer meals but...just haven't gotten there yet. If I make it to the store to do normal grocery shopping today I'll call it a success! Luckily I still have about a month!

@ShootingStar: Congrats on getting a doctor! Check it off the list!

@Mrs. J: Have fun at your showers! You'll have an awesomely busy weekend!

@Mrs. J: dh was laughing at me for itchy nipples too - they're so freakin dry!! Have fun at your shower and yay for being 1cm!

We're talking about dilation here. Omg!

@ShootingStar: I was in bed before 8 last night... and other than getting up to pee once, I slept until 6 but I think the main reason I woke up was because of my burning hip pain. It hurts so bad anymore.

P.S. All this talk about baby dropping and here I am just hoping baby puts that little head down soon.

I bought a nursing tank today and the nursing bra @MrsTiz: mentioned she bought (so cute!).

@Ash: I just had the same thoughts! OMG we're talking about dilation!! Crazy!!

@MrsTiz: Haha nope, we probably don't. It's exciting to know that some people can see a difference though! You seem to be getting some promising signs, lady!!

Just got back from appt - 37 weeks! GBS neg, good news. They didn't say anything about checking so I didn't ask. Last pregnancy I was fully effaced and starting to dilate by 38 weeks so they kept telling me I was going to go soon and have a quick labor but still ended up going a few days late and had a long labor so I didn't want to start the guessing game too early though I am curious.

@ShootingStar: Sorry you're having trouble sleeping that's not a fun thing to add onto all the other discomforts.

Just found out at my 36 week appt that the little dude has flipped to the breech position I'm soooo upset. I feel like everything has gone so well as far as moving towards the unmediated birth center birth I was hoping for and now I have a huge speedbump in my way.
Looks like next week ill be at the chiro, acupuncturist, and getting ultrasounds to see if we can flip him.

@MrsTiz: Woah! Hope everything is okay. It is exciting that you might get to meet your little guy tomorrow! But mostly I hope everything is okay with you and baby.

@sarah.clarisse: Silly breech babies. Hopefully since he just flipped, hopefully he will flip back! I'm pretty sure my baby has never been anything but breech, so I don't have much faith that she will flip, especially since I'm full term tomorrow. I have decided to just be at peace with the c-section and focus on the positive that I will know when baby girl will be here!
